"Guild Wars Saga continues"
I found NightFall to be just what most of us, those that love playing Guild Wars needed. With the intro of heros, frustration of finding a group is almost a thing of the past. I have little to say negatively about nightfall other than the the game is losing the role-play aspect. Chest cost gold to open and what you spend on keys will always be more than the item is worth. If you take henches and heros, your drops are far and few between.
Now for some good stuff. If you want to see great graphics, whack a few ugly, frighting monsters and some evil groups. Run from one town to the next,play PVP, join a guild fight in guild battles, meet some great people, for the most part and play on line free. Well, I have to say this game you will like, if not love.


"bead97's Nightfall review"
This is our third Guild Wars purchase and we're still very pleased with story line and the overall scope of each release. There's enough content to keep up interested for months and the ability to smoothly travel between "continents" adds a nice sense of continuity. Some other nice features are the seeming lack of hacks and not having to wait in a queue to enter the game or change locations

"Nightfall is all you will play"
Amazing product. Highly addictive. Can barely stop playing. The art book, music cd and collector pins complement the game. A lot of fun. All I can say is that you will get your money's worth. I did.

Fun to play with easy interfaces. Areanet has improved on the original Guild Wars: Prophecies campaign and unlike Factions delivers a full storied adventure. Improvements include heros, which grow as the characters grow, party searches, and a hat maker to keep all your festival hats.

"Great Graphics, same old gameplay."
This third chapter in the Guild Wars saga has brilliant graphics, interesting story-line, and great new options including a new interaction with heroes. The game is the same as the other two chapters in that a character runs around different maps and kills things. Nothing really new from the previous two games.

"Easy to Play", I have just recently begun playing mmorpg's and this one is very easy to use. I like the fact that if you have other Guild Wars games this one interacts with them as well. I really love the free online play.

"Guildwars Nightfall collectors edition - worth the money?", The collector's edition is great in that it includes a minipet. I'm not sure that it is worth the extra cost but, other players are envious of my little Varesh... The included map makes it easier to figure out where you are and how much of the continent you have explored. Whether it is worth the extra cost is really up to your budget restraints. ...in my opinion, Nightfall is the easiest character startup for noobs and Prophecies is the most complete in terms of quests and individual growth and Factions makes a nice add-on to the set. Be sure to buy at least one of the game of the year editions in order to get the superior starting set of weapons.

"Best part of the Guild Wars world", Nightfall takes place in the land of Elonia, the starting area of which is a large island. The story follows a group of people that are concerned with their leader's involvement with demons and what that alliance could mean for their land.

In Guild Wars, players have can use eight skills from a pool of several hundred possible skills. Skills can only be changed in towns, where other players meet and accept quests. Each character has a primary and secondary occupation or class. Each class has a set of skills. With the ability to pick skills from two classes, Guild Wars offers an endless array of skills to each player.

Nightfall adds the ability to control up to three AI Heroes per player, out of a total of 15 heroes. The player is able to customize each hero's skills, skill points, 2 distinct sets of armor, dye that armor and give each hero weapons which can be customized as well.

Also, the player can control which skills can be use by the Hero AI by placing the skill in order, from left to right, and deactivating skills so that those skills can only be used when the players initiates them.

Shortly after Nightfall came out, templates were introduced. Templates allow players to save skills, skill points, armor, and items to a local file that can be reloaded for later use or exchanged with other players.

Another addition was the ability to save skill sets. These sets can also be exchanged with other players by a long ASCI code. Both of these additions, while not specifically part of Nightfall, further enhance game play.

Nightfall uses a pleasant mix of story driven indoor and outdoor missions to tell the background of the lands. The missions range from the basic slay type to more interesting infiltration. One mission, in which the player crashes a party and must perform several amusing activities, was a wonderful surprise, very enjoyable and very fun to replay.

As a whole, Nightfall contains everything that Prophecies has and expands upon it nicely. Nightfall also has a nice mix of indoor and outdoor missions. The only draw back to the outdoor scenery is that they limited it to a savanna grasslands style.

The extras that this boxed set includes are nice for people that are heavy into Guild Wars or curious about what goes into making the game. Most will find those items of little value. Think of DVDs with a huge art section with hundreds of sketches that were used to create the movie. If that amount of detail interests you, then the extras included in this boxed set should as well.

With more player control of the battle through the use of fully customized Heroes, strong story driven missions, beautiful scenery, hundred of skills and several classes, Nightfall is the best part of the Guild Wars world.

"Guild Wars delivers again", This is an excellent product. Not only does the Guild Wars series lack a monthly fee (the best point) but each GW game thus far has been stand-alone. All of the titles embrace graphically exciting themes. Nightfall is absolutely stunning in-game.

The Guild Wars series rewards skill of play, not just endless hours of repetitive play. Nightfall adds even more option and depth to an already excellent series.

"This Game Is FREE ONLINE!!!", The best part about this game would be for me the fact that it is FREE to play online. Othere than that I would have to say that it is a really good game good graphics and gameplay.

"Not as good as the old game, but still awsome!", After reading other reviews about Guild Wars Nightfall and how "bad" it is, I thought to myself, are these people playing the same game I am? Guild Wars has been nominated for Best Game of the Year! That's huge... you don't see Doom, WoW or any other game getting an award do ya?!?!

Anyway, Nightfall is probably way better than Factions, but not as good as the first one. The first one to me is the most challenging, the newer ones are more easier. However, Nightfall has more missions, quests, new skills, weapons, etc. etc.

The new Hero thing is pretty cool. Better to have a hero than a henchmen, because you can control your Hero's skills.

Even though Nightfall, like Factions, the point is getting to level 20 before you get off the island, getting to level 20 isn't the 'whole' point of the game! Getting to level 20 is just 'part' of the game, getting experience points, gold, finding rare weapons, getting rank, etc. etc. are also part of the game. So don't think about it like "I'm level 20, now what?"... sure everyone says that, I even said that, but, the more you play, the better you get!

But other than the kinda 'no point' quests that you might get, because a lot of the quests are in one area on the island, everything else to the game is awsome! One of the best games I've played and always will be!

"Totally Wicked", I dunno what the other wierdoes are saying, But this game is off this hizzow! (Totally wicked awesome, can't be better) If you want a game this Christmas, This game goes off the charts! I adore the dervish, he is like a Grim Reaper, pretty cool huh. Wanna slice and dice that dude, but from a safe distance? Bring in your wicked awesome paragon! Spears, Thats the future! Kind of like a ranger, but he/she uses spears, and can hit hard. The scythes are amazing, the quests do get repetitive, but if you want lotsa money, to be level 20 quick, and to totally kick BUTT, this game owns! The graphics are amazing, (Most of my games are, with an nVidia 7800GTX video card...but still) I love this game, totally wicked, fun, and I spend hours just creating names. Like Obsidian the Black? Wanna make him legendary? Cool name? Totally! I always wanted to make my own name up, and have done so many times (My inspiration comes from books I have read, so, If you really like Matthias from Redwall, Brian Jaques's Book, Why not create a warrior called Matthias Ironwall, huh?) This game owns the world. Wierdoes Are Wierdoes, and thats EXACTLY who the people are that criticize this game. Really fun, really active, really blood pumping. Warrior, Ranger, Monk, Necromancer, Mesmer, and Elementalist, the best things ever, So, have fun and buy this game! ---Kids Review, Loves The Game, Kids = Know What Games Are Hot.

"Worse than the original Guild Wars, but still okay", In Nightfall, you start out on an island. There are quests, missions, etc, and it takes forever to get off the island if you do all the quests. Many of the quests on the island are in the same areas, but they're sequential, so it's not like you can go out into the same wilderness area once or twice and knock all of them out in one go. It gets repetitive, going to the same places over and over again. The quests reward more experience points than the quests in Prophecies (first Guild Wars game) generally do, so you get to level 20 much more quickly. The level cap of 20 is still there, and since you get to that level so quickly, it kind of gives one the feeling of, "Okay. I'm level 20. Now what?".

The missions are a little different from the way they were in Prophecies. In Nightfall, the missions can be completed in three delightful flavors: Standard, Expert, and Master. Standard is pretty much just the minimum mission completion. Expert is mission + part of the bonus (probably half). Master is mission + all of the bonus. Amount of experience gained depends on which one of those three are done. Unlike Prophecies, bonuses cannot be done separately from the mission; reward from bonus is only awarded upon mission completion. Also, many missions are only "unlocked" upon completion of certain quests/missions. At some points in the game, you get the option to do one quest or another, but not both. As a consequence, depending on which paths you go down quest-wise, you do different missions.

There's also a heroes feature. Heroes are like the henchmen in that they're AI, but unlike henchmen, you have much more control over them. You can order them to a certain location, you can change which skills they use, you can equip them with different weapons, you can decide whether they fight, guard, or avoid combat, etc. Nightfall offers lots of different heroes for you to acquire over the course of the game.

Personally, I don't care for either of the two new character classes introduced in Nightfall, the dervish and the paragon.

I have to disagree with much that the reviewer from Texas wrote concerning Guild Wars, though not with their conclusion. Riding pets? cars? jumping? In what wacked world are online RPG games expected to contain those features? Console system games, maybe, but pc games? naw. Methinks the reviewer is not a huge fan of most RPG games in general.

I'll admit that Nightfall seems to have fallen quite far short of what they were aiming for. Many of the quests seem more like excruciatingly long or tedious errands for NPCs. The game does not do a good job guiding the player; there have been times when I've had all the missions and quests available to me finished, and so I didn't have a clue what to do or where to go. That feeling of being lost in the game? Not cool. The dancing emote looks awful, but that's such a tiny, inconsequential thing. The collector's edition of Nightfall is definitely not worth the extra $$. The extra items packaged with the game are cheap, and upon opening the package, the first thought that comes to mind is "Wth? Why did I pay for this?".

Nightfall is very much like Prophecies (the first installment of GW) in that it's not real hack n' slash...most experience is gained through quests. Graphics are beautiful, as always.

To sum everything up: I would not recommend getting Guild Wars: Nightfall, much less the collector's edition. If you buy Nightfall as your first Guild Wars game, you'll never want to play another Guild Wars game again because it's so mediocre, and that would be doing the other Guild Wars installments a grave injustice. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Guild Wars over Guild Wars: Nightfall. Guild Wars = truly great.

"Mediocre", It's a lot more linear than the first. They have released countless nerfs against running and 55ing. As for the game it's self... well its lot of the same 123 kick. You are very limited in movement. You run fairly slow, can't jump. There is a jump emote, but no real jump. The bsp is often buggy. Consistent lag. Not just for me, but for 90% of the people I talk to. Also you are forced to play through everything every time you play. The new professions are sort of nice but nothing to scream about. Plus the spear throwing and odd dances are off. The CE is not that great either. The pet you can hardly see. The pins are stupid. It's a card board cut out. FFS couldn't put a real varesh plastic toy? Basically you pay 20$'s more for a mini-pet (which do nothing in game), that is worth 30k in game money, a disco ball for a really weird dance, and o some cheap pins. Also guild war's support staff is overly gimped and usually very unhelpful. So if you're scammed or wondering about something you're best bet is to just kiss it goodbye. Anarchy online is better than this, but the company is just as lousy.

Conclusion- over hyped, some things added are better than the original, hero system is nice but still gimped, and extremely repetitive. If you went gaga over the previous stuff then you will love this junk. If you never played Guild Wars then by all means avoid this, go buy something from a worth while company. Might be biased, but bad support and really poorly designed interactions ingame (no cars,jumping, riding pets, clothes, etc) gives this game an incredibly 'broke' feel.
