"It's true . . .", It's true, the penguin is really adorable and when the green light is on and it's working, I love it. But the red light keeps coming on for no known reason. And I hate to sleep with the penguin on for fear the light will turn red after an hour and stay red all night. I'm not sure what to do and the accompanying booklet does not seem to address this problem. sigh . . . Any ideas?

"Great humidifier", We've had this humidifier for 3 years now and it still works. I've purchase 2 different brands before this one and I love how quiet it is. I believe I've had this so long because of the cleaning I give it after 24 hours of use. I clean it out with distilled water and white vinegar and that helps keep the mold from growing into a problem. A definate must have!

"Excellent Low-Cost Humidifier", This is the third humidifier I bought this winter and it's the best. It's very cute and quiet, easy to fill, and doesn't get everything all wet like the other humidifier I purchased. I am very pleased with it.

"Dragon!", This humidifier has worked pretty well. Now and then it will stop working until i give it a bit of a jiggle, then it's back to business as usual. I've also noticed this mostly happens when using the Crane brand screw in filter and not the standard screw on water dispenser.

"Pretty decent and cheap, and very cute", I have only a little more to add to the many other reviews: The fan is very quiet, but like many other humidifiers there is a constant dripping sound that I find annoying. The plastic case acts like a resonator and makes it much louder than it needs to be. I should not really say that the dripping sound is LOUD, but it is certainly audible in a quiet room, and I find it annoying. Others may not be bothered, but I think it sounds like a dripping faucet in the same room.

"Warning label should be attached", . . . to every humidifier. I used this quite happily for a winter, always cleaning it and using distilled water. Great product and very quiet.
Lately I've developed a horribly terrifying reaction that, at first, I did not attribute to the humidifier. Shortness of breath, fever, chest pain. After Googling for a while (and many doctor visits) I found exactly what was wrong; Humidifier Fever. Check it out and ask yourself if it is worth buying a humidifier.

"Great functionality, questionable build quality (and some Amazon fulfillment issues too?)", I seriously do wish that Amazon would let the ratings be broken down into different categories as a single rating does not do justice to many items.

Take this product for example. I got the cow humidifier.

5 for the product's functionality and value. Simple in design, excellent at work. It is almost whisper quiet and does the job its job perfectly. You can vary the amount of moisture it throws out over a wide range using the knob. Capacity is also pretty good and I manage to eke out almost 4-5 nights on every refill. All this at an amazing price!

2 for the build quality (or it is Amazon shipping?). The first unit came with a huge crack on the main plastic housing. The item also looked dirty and scratched in general. Amazon immediately shipped a replacement unit.

The replacement unit came in packaged terribly. It looked like some amatuer had shoved the package into a box. Once again, the item was damaged, with the LED indicator dislodged. There were some scratches on the plastic inside and it looked like something that happened during manufacturing. I guess they tried to cut costs as much as they could!

I would hate to blame Amazon shipping as I have never had any issues with Amazon ever. Lets hope that this is a one-off thing.

Overall, I would totally recommend this product. I think it does the job right at a great price. Just hope that you get a good piece!

"Didn't work", I've had a lot of trouble finding a good humidifier for my son who seems to come down with some sort of respiratory infection every month. I've found many that have leakage problems and I was hoping this one would be different. Not only did it leak but, like it did for others who have reviewed this product, the mist wouldn't come out. It stayed inside the frog's head. I'm very disappointed since it reportedly works perfectly for most people. Those that get the broken Crane humidifiers seem to be out of luck what with customer service being of no help.

"Great product", The humidifier arrived one day before I expected. And in addition, it was easy to use and its advantages are just clear as other buyers have indicated. It's very quiet and works efficiently. Definitely worth the price.

"It really is Adorable(tm), practical too.", Needed the extra humidity for toddler's room and new infant, despite whole-house humidifier set at 40% their rooms hovered around 20-30%. Had the "Adorable" cow for 1.5 years, which sent the "cool mist" straight up through the ears. The cow was certainly adorable in form [aesthetically], but function wasn't ideal because the straight-up mist meant that the nearby wall/window got coated with condensate most nights. Also after 1.5 years the pump/mechanism was starting to click pretty loudly [loud enough to hear on the baby monitor], and it got pretty gunky inside despite regular cleanings. Probably to be expected for the price, and I probably didn't clean it more than biweekly. Bought 2 penguins (one for each kids' room) because the mist comes out the beak more horizontally...ie into the room rather than straight up.

On arrival, one of the 2 penguins didn't function at all...had to send it back to Amazon. Probably just crummy QC at the chinese plant, no big surprise. Luckily, Amazon's return policy and punctuality rocked my world. A new one arrived 2 days after filling out online RMA form, way before they received the defective one. Pretty cool. Now both of them work and my daughter's wall isn't soaked. Certainly as adorable as the cow, and she likes blue things at the moment.

In summary, nice product for the price. The penguins' beak sends the mist nearly horizonally out into the room, so the walls/windows nearby don't get soaked. Problem solved. Both kids breathe easy at night even when they have colds/sniffles.
