"Great value"
This keyboard is the best value for the money. This sturdy keyboard feels natural at my fingertips. The macro keys are helpful for work and gaming alike. For gaming, it's critical to have a keyboard which registers every key press, and this keyboard delivers. The backlight is pleasant and not too bright under any situation. This keyboard has all the bells and whistles I need and doesn't come with anything I won't use. Get this keyboard.

"Decent keyboard..."
This is a pretty nice keyboard. I personally like the backlit keys (which is actually what talked me into the keyboard to begin with). There are actually TWO levels of brightness - and they're not too far apart. I prefer the highest setting, since it helps more in my gameroom.
Haven't had enough experience yet to test the macro capability.
The keys feel sturdy, but mushy (which is actually pretty common in keyboard nowadays anyway). Personally I'd feel a little better with more tactile feel, but it'll do.
The extra USB ports will certainly come in handy.

Overall, I'd give it an "A-" only because I think it's a bit expensive.
When I get into it, I think the macro programming ability will be quite a plus.

"Very pleased"
This keyboard is awesome, when I got it the price was just awesome @ 58.66 who would pass that deal up? now I see it has risen ouch for the rest of you xD,

lets get on track. this keyboard is massive! barely fit on my desk, because I'm dual screening. this keyboard is awesome not enough words can describe this thing. JUST GET IT!

"the light should be white not blue"
it takes getting used to EVERY TIME YOU USE IT. AT LEAST 10 MINUTES. even with putting it at its brightest.
blue looks nice in a picture but actually sucks when its in front of you.
Seriously. maybe amazon should foward this email to logitech so they could
get it bright.

"Nice keyboard but the software does not always work"
The gaming keys are useful not only for games The problem is that the software to enable them based on the application running does not always work. This is the case with UltraCompare, for example. After the program is launched, the keys do not work initially but after a couple of tries they do.

What our customer's say!

"Awesome for Windows Vista, not so awesome for Macintosh.", I love using this keyboard on my windows machines. It is easy to set up and is very intuitive in its game settings. The added keys allow for some neat macros to be used in World of Warcraft. These allow for added pwnage against people with standard keyboards.

I tried using this on my Mac Pro OSX 10.5.x. It did function as any normal keyboard but the extra keys didn't seem to do too well. I was able to tweak it a bit but they were never as good as when I was using it in Windows Vista.

All in all a wonderful piece of kit for your Windows based machine.

"I LIKE this keyboard", Pros: The lighting is excellent. The blue is nice. Key touch is fine. Macros are very easy to record. Macros and keystrokes are very easy to assign to G keys. I love that only one USB port is needed and there are no little microphone or earphone wires hanging around. I stand the keyboard on end against the wall next to my chair when not in use, so the open holes at the top make it easy to handle. The flat ends make it easy to stand on end. The construction is substantial. The black and silver lines are attractive. There are Vista 64-bit drivers for it. It seems to work seamlessly with my new laptop. Probably more stuff, but that's what I've liked so far.

Cons: Wrist rest is floppy and useless, since I hold the keyboard in my lap. The left shift seems to skip sometimes, but that may be my touch or my laptop. I had the same problem, only worse, using the laptop keyboard. I think others have tested the onboard USB ports and found them to be USB 1, but I assume a power cord to the kb would be needed to provide enough power for most peripherals, like you have to do with USB hubs. I could use those ports. My laptop has only 3. Mouse, kb, printer. No room for scanner, backup drive, or other peripherals.

"Great for Warcraft and other MMOs: 18 programmable keys!", I purchased this keyboard about 6 months ago and an extremely happy with it. It's 18 programmable keys make setting up hot keys and macros a breeze with easy to use software. Plus they are easily accessible on the left hand side of the keyboard in groups of 6 keys. The back lighting makes late night gaming great and comes in 3 different levels if illumination. Two USB ports come in handy for hooking up accessories such as a headset and mouse. In my opinion much better than the Logitech G15.

"Dependable (One Year After Review)", I have owned this keyboard for a year now and love it to death. I have fiddled with many differant keyboards throughout the years and this is by far the best I have ever worked with. It has proven to me to be dependable and rugged as I have dragged it to lan parties, work, an even now to Afghanistan.

The first and foremost thing one should note about this keyboard is its huge size, this keyboard will consume a sizable amount of desktop real estate, and may or may not fit in many desk's keyboard trays. But with its cable management, which are little groves under the keyboard you are able to hide many wires such as speakers and mouse to make a more presentable desktop appearance.

The second thing one will notice is the plethora of programable G buttons on the left side of the keyboard, and like the rest of the keyboard they are backlit with blueish lighting that is easy on the eyes in dim light. Each key is able to be programed with the included software to perform any number of custom created macros which is pretty usefull in allot of strategy and MMO games. You also havethe ability to create on the fly macros so you don't have to leave your game to do so. With three differant sets you can program up to 54 macros that can be executed at the push of a button.

The third thing you will notice about this keyboard is the backlit LCD display that in its simplest form acts as a clock, cpu monitor, and email checker. But when linked with a supported game such as WoW can be so much more displaying in game stats such as health, ammo, lives, time played, ect. Coupled with the LCD is a very functional media control that includes a nicely done volume circle, pause, play, forward, backwards.

This keyboard also solves a common gaming issue which is the windows key. If pressed during gameplay the windows key can abruptly interrupt you play session by minamizing your game. However with the flick of a switch the G11 transforms it's self into game mode which disables this key temporarily to prevent minimization.

I have used this keyboard daily for about a year now, and one problem that is noted with backlit keyboards is the buttons eventually fade and wear iut ti the point where you can no longer see the keys. I have not had this issue with this board as all my keys remain visable and useable.

All in all if you can afford the desktop space this keyboard consumes and require an enormous amount of programable keys this is the keyboard for you. However if you would prefere a small keyboard with less programable keys check out the Logitech G15 or a keyboard from Razer.

"Almost perfect", I love this keyboard. The extra macro-programmable keys are great. The blue lighted keys look cool and enable use in the dark.

But I can't change songs in Yahoo Music Jukebox unless Jukebox is the active application (which means that feature is not useable for me). Also the software must be manually loaded when I start a game or app.

"G11 is ok if you need a cheap good gameing keyboard ", Well the G15 v2 2007 is only about a few bucks more. so if you need a keyboard and dont have enuff this would be your best replacement option. But the G15 is better.

"Pretty good keyboard with only a few minor issues", I purchased this keyboard about a month ago because I was interested in the macro keys and how useful they'd be for gaming. But before I get to that, let me give a few statements about the keyboard in general.

1. As many reviewers have said already, this keyboard is fairly large. However, I have plenty of desk space, so that's not an issue to me.

2. The backlit keys are very nice for those who sometimes type in the dark. Not necessary if you're just touch-typing a letter, but quite useful if you're playing games and need to hit a particular key quickly. The lighting seems fairly even across the board with only a few minor areas that seem a bit darker. There are two levels of light (as well as "off") and I wish that the second level were brighter. The difference between "low" and "high" is not much at all.

3. I have not yet used the media keys, so can't comment there.

4. Tactile feedback is pretty good. Now that I'm used to the key placement (it's shifted over a tad from my old keyboard), I find it pleasant to type on. Only issue here is I don't like the placement of the Esc key - It's shifted over about 1 cm from my old keyboard I have yet to adjust...but that's just me.

5. Two USB ports on the board are a nice touch, especially if your computer isn't within easy reach.

Overall, as a general keyboard, I'm very happy with the G11. It feels good and looks good.

Now, about those macro keys...

The G11 has 18 macro keys and 3 Mode keys, which basically are telling you which setup your 18 keys are on. This basically gives you a total of 54 (3x18) total macros you could set up if you wished! These 54 keys can also be separately programmed for any number of Profiles.

The G11 requires software to be running in the background so that you can set up the Profiles. The programming of keys is extremely easy and ranges from specific key clicks, to loading a given program, to entire key sequences based upon one macro key press. The example they give in the tutorial sets up a key so that when pressed will highlight all text in the document and then delete it.

The profiles are basically different setups of what a given macro key will do. You can set them up for a given game or program. Theoretically, when that program is loaded (defined in the profile setup), it should load that profile automatically. So for example, say you have a profile for Doom 3. The idea is that when you click on the Doom3 icon and load the program, the keyboard software will load the Doom3 profile and all of your macro keys that you've already programmed are ready to go. Cool in concept, but I have had trouble getting it to recognize that a given game program is loading. After the game loads, I go back out and look at the Profiler software and it often hasn't changed. Why this is, I don't know. I haven't had time to research it too far. And yes, I have made sure that my "default" isn't locked on (a feature that you can set). So what does this mean? Well, when I start a game, I have to manually load the profile. Not a big deal, but a tad annoying when the software supposedly is set up so you don't have to do this.

"Excellent gaming and general keyboard", Logitech products are never mediocre. They're either awful or great. The G11, fortunately, falls on the "great" side.
If you're in the market for a nice keyboard (whether you're a gamer, a heavy computer user, or someone who enjoys aesthetic and tactile perfection, the G11 is a sound investment.
I bought the G11 after deciding that I wanted a really well made, wired, back-lit keyboard. There are far to many cheapo keyboards, stocked with useless media buttons and silly ergonomic designs. I decided, as I'm a heavy gamer, that a gaming keyboard was the way to go. The nice thing about computers is that, usually, what's designed for a gamer works REALLY well for any other user.
The G11 is no exception.
The back-lighting displays very nicely, whether seen straight on or at an angle. I have NO trouble with the brightness, and the keys don't look at all blurry. The blue lighting is quite sleek looking, and serves its purpose really well.
The G keys (G1-G18), in coordination with the M1-M3 keys give you 54 macro keys. This is a feature I didn't think I would use, but have grown to love. I'm able to do everything from saving username and password combos (thus able to them inserted at the click of a button), to binding spell set-ups and weapon choices (Oblivion, CS:S, etc.). I also have most of my oft-used programs set to a key, so all I have to do is a hit a button to load my favorite game, firefox, etc.
The media keys work for me, although I almost never use them. Same goes for most of the top row of keys. I keep the keyboard in "gaming mode", thus preventing the Windows key from working, and I only adjust the back-lighting when watching a movie. I've found the ability to record macros to be very useful.
The action on these keys is very satisfying. Typing on it feels great. It's immediately apparent that this is a quality keyboard. Not too clicky, not mushy or overly soft, the G11 hits the sweet spot. It's styled as a desktop keyboard, rather than a laptop (full layout, full sized keys with full action). I prefer this, as it gives a more tactile and concrete response.
The keyboard fits well on my desk. It doesn't seem overly large, but it may be tight on some setups. The included wrist-rest is actually useful ( I initially didn't plan on using it).
Downsides? The software isn't the best in the world. It takes a little playing around to figure it out, as it's not entirely intuitive. Also, the USB hubs should be 2.0, but they're not. I never use them as a result, but I'm not upset about this. Finally, when resting flat, the keys seem to face back away from the typer. In order to even this out, you have to use the little feet on the bottom/back of the keyboard. They are very short, and if you like your keyboard at an incline facing you, you will be disappointed. Other than that, I have NO complaints with this keyboard. It's truly amazing and well worth the price.
Absolutely grab one if you're in the market for a gaming keyboard, a back-lit keyboard, a programmable keyboard, or just a nice keyboard in general.

"Spectacular Board!", This is a great board with spectacular reaction time. The lit keys are awesome when using in low to no lighting. although they are supposed to be backlit as well and you can barely see that. I have not been able to get the multimedia keys to work with Windows Media Player. There is also a gaming toggle for the board which deactivates the Windows key so if you are playing something that requires the use of ctrl and alt there is no more accidental opening of start menu. The keyboard overall is perfect if you love to game.

"keyboard started glitching within 8 months ", My G15 keyboard started glitching within 8 months of purchase, my Enter, K, and I keys were the 1st to go, then keys started double typing and when I contacted Logitech's customer support they had me hook it up to a 2nd pc without there software. I hauled the keyboard
into work and hook it up (what a pain!)and yup the keyboard is junk.
Logitech's customer support had me fill out a bunch of info but I didn't have my receipt so I'm out my 80$, I went back to my old keyboard, its 10 years old and still works perfectly!
Logitech should be ashamed of them selves for selling substandard products at inflated prices! No matter how many bells and whistles a keyboard has it should last longer then 8 months!
