"A waste of your money and time!"
This is the worst software I ever used. It doesn't even worth a dime. People should get paid to use this software, it wastes your time. I can't believe I spent money on it. Totally upset!!! Here is why?

1. I hope to use this one to print out my own checks. I bought some blank checks at Staples. The print-outs on the Quicken box says it prints out checks for you. However, you have to order Quicken pre-printed checks, which is not cheap. This Quicken software doesn't take any other brand blank checks. And guess what, I later downloaded a free check printing software online to print checks on any standard blank check papers. The software is called "Check Printing Software 2000".

2. I hope to use this Quicken to balance my check book. It turns out the real pain starts here. This Quicken acts like it is the boss to dectate the workflow. I mean there is little flexibility to change to balance, transction type and dates. Sometime, I am not allowed to change or delete the transactions. The feeling is this Quicken likes to hook up to all of your online accounts and drive your financial vehicle for you. Now, I am thinking why I waste money on this. I should have just use the SpreadSheet to balance my check book.

Overall, this Quicken has a complex user interface. Too many tabs, and buttons, and links. Very confusing. Maybe, they think the more tabs and buttons they throw at you, the more money they can charge you.

I totally regreted that I spent $60 on this junk. I hope you don't get the same experience or you could avoid this.

"Quicken Home nd Business 2007 for Windows XP"
I ordered this item TWICE and I NEVER ever received the item from either party. I'm not very happy with Amazon about this. I was credited one of the items but the other one NEVER showed up as a credit on my Visa. BAD practice for your customers.

"Don't buy this Software"
Man this company really stinks. I upgraded from 2004 hoping to get a better product but it has the same problems as before.

Can you believe I can't automatically download transactions from my bank's site?

Why else would you use this software then?

Oh and Good luck easily moving from a previous version. every Version of Windows gets better but quicken is stuck in 1969.

Really there must be something better. 10 years later and still buggy buggy buggy. I'm going to return this and use my old version. Heck with it. Did the same stuff and saves me $90.

What other issues I haven't found???????

I can't imagine all of the advanced features work for nothing nor would I want to spend 3 weeks figuring it out.

"Beware of unexpected costs"
I have been using Quicken for over 10 years and I'm fed up. There are problems with the program for sure, but my chief complaint is with their customer service which is outsourced to India. Recently my Quicken Home and Business program started crashing every time I tried to print an invoice. I called customer support and after a painful hour on the phone finally got someone who knew exactly what to do, ie delete a certain file. Then they charge me $25, even though their website says there will be no charges for known or unknown bugs in the program. Now the last time I looked, when a program crashes, that is a bug! But the customer support supervisor remains adamant that I owe them $25. And they knew exactly what the problem was, yet had no mention of it anywhere in their close to non-existent knowledge base. Seems like the Indian customer support is more concerned with squeezing extra charges out of you than having satisfied customers. I don't know if Microsoft money will be any better, but I will give it a try.

"Great product for the home & small business user."
I have been using Quicken since 1998 (Quicken 98 Deluxe), and finally thought that it was time to upgrade... I am so very glad that I did! I use Quicken for both my home and small business finances, and I'd be absolutely lost without it. It easily keeps track of all of my accounts - bank, credit, loans, and investment - and provides me with an easy way to keep everything organized. I especially love that it automatically downloads the transactions from the banks that hold my accounts - no more manual transaction entries! For the beginning user, it is easy to setup and easy to learn... you'll love it! I think that Quicken is absolutely invaluable and highly recommend it to anyone who wishes to better organize their finances!

"Strangling on its own success", A software publisher like Intuit can't leave well enough alone. They'd go out of business if they did that, so they keep releasing new versions of products that have already reached perfection or something close to it. Or, as is the case with Quicken, the older versions simply worked.

Now I finally got around to upgrading to Quicken Home & Business 2007. It runs without crashing - but most of the new features seem to be advertising for Intuit products and services.

What used to be transparent features, such as downloading credit card transactions and importing them into your accounts is given a fancy name ("web connect") and obfuscated. Try looking up "qfx" file in the Quicken Help system. Nothing really useful. Try looking up "importing credit card data" and you get hundreds of results. It appears that they scooped up everything from their online forums and dumped into their help file. It doesn't work well.

I finally found the answer I needed: don't fix it if it ain't broken. Once I thoroughly learn this version of Quicken, I will not update again until there is absolutely no choice. If anything, either Intuit should bring out a version with fewer "features" or someone should seize the market opportunity for a product that simply works.

"Easy to Use for Home Finance Records", We purchased this to keep track of our home budget and our small business accounting. It is easy to use, lets you see where all of your money is going, allows you to forcast your budget surplus and shortfalls. My wife uses this daily and she has no formal training in business or accounting.

"Not as stated", Before I purchased this product I went to their support sight to be sure I could import my existing data into this quicken version I down loaded the procedure and printed it. After purchasing the product and loading the product I found out the procedure is not allowed, it can only get transactions from your bank. When it does it is not accurate. I had to remove this product and go back to an earlier version of a different product one I previously owned.

"Quicken Slow", I have been using Quicken 2000 for seven years and only bought Q2007 H&B after upgrading my OS from WinME to XP. Q2000 cannot now be registered and quickly timed out. Q2007 converted the Q2000 files even on my backup hard drive. Not good!
Although Q2007 works the help files just come up as Java script files and Intuit has not been able to sort this out although they have tried hard to do so.
The user interface screens have become far to fussy and not easily customisable. The only gain I have found is better customsation of reports.

"Quicken Home & Business 2007", Purchased this product specifically for the stocks evaluator in the Investing Center. Was not disappointed. Product provided exactly what I expected.

Read this reviews before You buy...

"If you don't have to upgrade, wait until they fix it!", I was forced to buy Q2007 as Intuit quit supporting the version I owned. Nothing has impressed me as being an improvement. And of course the switching costs (like time getting up the learning curve) were annoying. On this basis I would have rated it a 3 star.

However, I gave it a 1 because printing does not work. Everytime I try to print, preview, or print setup, the program shuts down. There is nothing wrong with my printers or drivers (besides working with every other program on my computer they worked with the previous version of Quicken). After spending a couple of hours troubleshooting, I discovered from Quicken's bulletin board that this is a known common problem, which Intuit has yet to provide a fix. Do they no longer have a quality control department?

"Quicken 2007 Home and Business", I have been using both Quicken and Quickbooks for several years and decided to try Quicken 2007 Home and Business and have been very impressed with the functionality and ease of use with this new version. I would highly recommend this program to anyone who wants to track their income and expenses, investments and business. It is very easy to use and a very powerful tool for tracking all of your finances. Good Job Intuit!

"don't trust it!", pretty to look at, but it does not calculate cd's, spin-off's, or special dividends correctly. overall, the investment section cannot be relied upon for accurate accounting. and to top it off, you have to put up with advertising and zero support too!

"Good Job by Quicken Support", I just bought a new computer with AMD dual core processor and 2GM RAM, Windows Vista Premium. After loading Q2007 on the machine, the program suggested I update to the latest version, R5 at the time.

When loading R5 the progress box said program not responding. I used task manager to cancel the program. DO NOT DO THIS! You will be unable to uninstall, or reinstall the program. I followed all the directions on Quicken's website to uninstall, but was unsuccessful. I called their customer support number and had a great experience. They answered within two minutes, the rep was very knowledgeable, and did not rush me at all. I would say we spent 20 minutes on the phone. He was in New Delhi, India.

Say Vista users, when you download R5 give it 30 minutes. The progress bar will say "program not responding," but just relax and give it a LOT of time.

Once installed the program appears to be working well.

"Better than before, but not perfect", I used to use Quicken Deluxe 2003 and had serious stability issues in Windows 98. I upgraded to WinXP and found that it was even worse. For some reason I bought Deluxe 2007 and have actually seen quite a few improvements in the way the software runs. It's much faster (at least on my machine) and has very nice features which are new to me. The calendar features and automatic online updates are really nice.

The Customer Invoices (business end of the software) are basically a joke and reconciliation is a pain in the neck! One thing that is so stupid is that to enter a payment received on an invoice, you MUST make a deposit into an account in Quicken. The problem is that unless you make a single deposit at your bank for each invoice you got paid on, it's impossible to accurately reconcile the bank statements. You also can't seem to enter a partial payment on an invoice, or an overpayment. And third in the stupid ideas category, you cannot print certain reports on customers and invoices, yet you can view them in a nice little pop up box. How hard is it to put a "print" button?!

All in all, it's not perfect, but it's functional and very handy for personal finance management. For running the finances of a business it's pretty useless, even a tiny business like mine.
