"Great Game To Mod"
While admittingly this game is not very good out of the box, especially compared to NBA 2k7 for the PS2, it is greatly improved with mods available on the internet. One can update rosters, portraits, courts, music, jerseys and shoes. Another plus is that there are mods to improve the buggy gameplay and graphics. Overall, for [...] I consider this game a steal as there is so much to do with it that is not possible on the console version.

"i didnt have the color chips"
before you buy this game make sure have the color chips and all that stuff needed. it doesnt say what are the requirements on the page but you have to have something like an ati radeon chip and nvidia something like that

"good game after all. no doubt about it."
this game was controversial when it first came out because of the graphics and the AI. now, however, with modding though various internet sites it really improves the look and the feel of the game a lot. i've been playing some great contests with this game, and it is just so life like. a great buy now for the price. with the playoffs coming up, this game is worth the money. good, solid fun!

"terrible"
PC version.

So many bugs in this game its untrue. Waited 2 months for the patch - and now the game doesn't even run.

Good going EA - I have played NBA live since '95. I will never buy another again.

Pathetic.

"The worst yet"
Repackaged NBA Live '06, new with bugs!

-Frustrating gameplay (get too close to a defender and you are "locked" into a move with virtually no control over your player - forget about the "freestyle control")
-Unresponsive controls
-Unstable, buggy menu UI
-'06 graphics
-False advertising about features that were only available on the XBox 360 version
-Primacy issue in dynasty mode that appeared in '06 is STILL not fixed
-Unrealistic dynasty mode - you can still trade 3 average players (that can easily be signed with minimum contracts) for a superstar
-TERRIBLE support/updates

PLEASE give us NBA 2K7 on the PC!

What our customer's say!

"Great NBA Game!!", The new features EA added are terrific. Total freestyle control makes players more realistic in 2 ways.

One, for instance a player like McGrady is not just a scorer, but a good dunker as well and that's where changing FSS types on the fly comes in handy.

Second, two players for example are Rashard Lewis and ray Allen. In NBA Live 06, they had the same exact shooting ability, but Allen is way better. In NBA Live 07 Lewis is only a star and Allen, being the great shooter that he is, he is a superstar level player. That is why the 2 tiers of FSS makes the game more realistic. Star players are better than ordinary players in the game, but superstar players are the top of the line players.

In 07 you can feel the intensity of the game. The crowd is more into the game and they say "defense" when it's the road team's ball.

I like the separation of the dunk and lay-up buttons since you can decide for yourself whether you want to play it safe and go for the lay-up or take the risk for a dunk.

Another addition is the x-factor. Think Robert Horry. He is just a role player yet he has made many clutch shots. In live 07, for each game a player from each team is identified as the x-factor. If you get him involved then get can turn into a star level FSS, for a short time. You should get him in the game and get him involved. If he does that, then he would get unlocked. If you want to save the ability until later during the game then you should keep him involved. If you want to activate his FSS ability, then hold l1 and press r3 and it will become activated. You should use it wisely since it only lasts a short time.

All the new features that ea added has made the game an improvement over live 06. This is another great game by ea sports.

"Simply Awful", Just a porous effort on every level. Not much has changed from the 2006 version except that the game play is evermore lop-sided and ridiculous. Interface options are convoluted, the website for patches is a joke and the actions on the court seemed to have been programmed, animated and mo-capped by Stevie Wonder.

Glad I received it as a gift and I didn't spend the cake on this junk. I know EA lost its way a long time ago (they actually DID make great games about 10 years ago) and is simply in it for the bottom line at this point. My ban on buying EA products continues and we (the wise consumers) will be left standing when the last EA studio closes.

"BUGS, BUGS, BUGS", I purchased the download version of this game and I when I play season mode, franchise mode, or playoff mode, after the game is over I cannot get to the screen to save the game. It is ridiculous!!!! I checked for a patch but the game is still doing the same thing. Do not buy this game!!!!! The game play was good, I enjoyed it but I cant enjoy it if I cannot save my progress.

"Similar yet Still tons of Fun", Just like the Madden series not too much different but the players and a few game option tweaks but still a great two player game. I like the EA Sports they seem to be able to get them to work on Vista unlike the battlefield series that I'm still stuggling to get to work on Vista.
At The Price this is still a great game. Most people only know a few players in the league so player draft aquisitions and team changes will affect only the die hardest of fans.

"Fun Game", NBA Live 2007 is a fun game for the average NBA fan. The controls are fairly easy to learn after playing for a while. It's not great, but a good buy.

Read this reviews before You buy...

"Awesome game with sweet graphics but needs improvement in several areas", The folks at EA sports have once again done a great job of improving things every year as far as realism goes in their sports games. Although the previous reviews were right about a few flaws regarding the game, it is incredible. I just wish the folks at EA sports could have included a more thorough instruction guide for those of us who use keyboards to play this. A gameplay tutorial would have been a nice addition to the game as well. Why is it so hard to dunk the basketball in slam dunk school?

The sounds in this game are incredible! Very realistic sound effects, authentic voice introductions, crowd cheers and booing, it's pretty much all here for the most part. The team dancers and maybe the team mascot would be a better improvement in future editions...

For those of you who are looking to buy this game off of amazon, your computer must meet the following requirements in order to play NBA Live 07:

Operating system - Windows XP or 2000
CPU - At least 1.3 Ghz or faster
RAM - 256 MB or more
Disc Drive - 8x or faster DVD drive (will not work with regular CD-ROM)
Hard Drive - 3.7 GB or more free space
Video - Direct X 9.0 compatible
Sound - Same as above
Input - Keyboard and mouse, Dual analog gamepad recommended

Video Card with 64 MB or more memory and one of these chipsets is required:

ATI Radeon 7500 or greater; NVIDIA GeForce3, GeForce4 Ti Series or greater

Above all this game is a lot of fun and worth the money but, EA should have done a better job informing people how to play it. I decided to post the game requirements on my review to help prevent this sites misleading information from disappointing customers.

"MIS-INFORMATION ABOUT THIS GAME IRRITATING", The Windows XP version says it comes on a CD...Wrong! It comes on a DVD...

I would also like to add that the System requirements for this game seem to be Top Secret?? Amazon doesn't list them as of this writing and a visit to the EA SPORTS NBA Live 07 website doesn't either.

My Grandson received one of these for his 9th birthday and the only place you find the System requirements is on the smudged cellophane wrapper and it is written so small you practically need a magnifier to read it. Even though my Grandson has a pretty new Dell computer with plenty of CPU and Memory and DVD drive, it would not install because it doesn't have the right Video Card. What's with keeping this information so secret EA ?? Do you like returns and wasting people's time?

How about joining the Information Age and getting your act together!!

It's NO FUN if you can't even install it and after all of the above it won't get installed but returned for a refund.

"WORST OF THE WORST", EA lost it. NBA LIVE is the WORST NBA game now, no questions asked. Buy NBA 2K7. Much much better.
Too many bugs. Too many bugs that I cant write it all down here.
Worst of all, the game crashes everytime, EVERY SINGLE TIME I play.
This has happened to numerous players, and even the bug fix EA came up with after a month did nothing to fix it.
The laugh is that EA was so stupid they had to release a fix of the bug fix, as the first bug fix could even be installed by anyone.
This game is not worth anything at all. Its a total JOKE.
I can probably make a better game myself, at least a game that works!!
Do me a favor, lets not buy any more EA products and push the retarted and disrepectfull company to bankruptcy.

"DVD only?", Too bad this only works if you have a DVD drive on your PC. I've played the NBA Live games every year for the past few years, but this year I can't even try it out, as my PC only has CD-ROM drives. Sure, that might not be an issue for a lot of the people who game regularly, but I have no use for DVDs on my PC -- sorry EA, would love to have given you my money, but you won't let me.

"The little things", Amazing how a company can continue to make live after live and somehow never get it right. Live 07 is incredible in features, and for a stat junkie such as myself the dynasty mode was vastly improved with team chemistry, and other goodies making multiple seasons worth playing through.

The rumor mill especially in dynasty was a great addition, and although pointless in many ways, the espn integration is still a cool presentation nod.

However....

There are several things missing in Live 07, that was FINE in previous versions. So once again, they add new stuff, while taking out features that worked perfectly well in the others.

Where the heck is the menu to choose how many games you want to play in dynasty mode? Unless I am mistaken, and the copy I purchased is incomplete, why is there no option to choose a 29 game season in dynasty? It is clearly available in seasons...but missing from Dynasty mode! Granted there are people who don't really care for this, but for those of us who do that is a huge missing part.
That almost triples the normal season length, and for those who play 12 minute quarters, makes playing a full season an adventurous couple of months. Not worth it, not ever.

Still no back down/face up button, you have to press down on the analog stick-I have a logitech controller, so I can always program it in-but it is a pain in the monkey to have to do something to your hardware that should have already been included in the games programming.

Pressing down on the left analog stick makes it nearly impossible to guard players, especially since the 'superstar' shooters can get off a shot in half a nanosecond, making it impossible to contest them!!

Put the entire control scheme together on offense, and you will feel more like you are playing Marvel vs. Capcom 2 than a basketball sim. The pro hop buttons are moved to analog, a LOT of the cooler superstar moves have been moved to analog, with weird half circles and dragonpunch combos and whatnot. I don't know anyone who has this many fingers. There is no way to completely enjoy the features of this game, because I don't think it is possible to play a competitive game against the computer with your fingers so far from important buttons.

Trying to combine necessary buttons with the new scheme is frustrating-and it shouldn't be.

The ai still sucks spaceballs, but thankfully I witnessed my ai controlled center actually jumping and blocking shots for once. That is a HUGE improvement over them standing around and doing nothing.

But ending this short: It is the same game, only with a few bells and whistles. I uninstalled it after realizing this in a matter of an hour, and I will be getting my full refund and possibly purchasing a console. Guess I should have realized that when my buddy offered it to me 'half price' after he only had it for a while, that there was a reason he was giving it up so easy.
He said I would be back and ask for my money, oh, how right he was!

Yes, a console. What a crappy idea, but better than waiting around for EA to make a playable basketball sim.
