"Everything it promises" I got this keyboard as a way of trying to get rid of the pain I had in my shoulder. I did my research before I purchased, and knew exactly what I was in for. The split keyboard can be difficult to deal with if you're not used to it, but I had one of the very first such keyboards a long time ago, and it totally removed the pain I had in my wrist. The split here is less than I was used to.
I am very happy with the keyboard, but less so with the mouse. It's around here somewhere, but I have another Logitech mouse I use instead. In fact, I switch between another rechargeable mouse and a corded trackman both from Logitech. I just didn't find it to be accurate enough, and I kept tilting the wheel all over the place, and it felt a bit "plasticy". Will recommend the set if you don't have a wireless mouse already, it's just that I already have a mouse that cost more than this set put together.
As a bonus, my pain is gone too (combination of many things, this included).
"Great overally but the space button is weird" I haven't been using this keyboard for long yet, but the first thing you will notice is a completely different step of the space key comparing to other keys. Other keys have normal, a little soft "click". But when you press space key, it doesn't do any "click" and you are not sure if the key has been pressed at all. It is like are tapping a piece of gelatin. However, the movement to press space properly is not big, so it is rather not a problem with missing space chars or something like that. I believe this was done for a good reason and maybe I need to just get used to it, and then I will see the advantage over space keys in normal keyboards.
Also great is that you can connect the keyboard either through ps2 or normal USB. When connected through USB both the mouse and the keyboard are visible in the system. When connected through PS2 only keyboard/mouse is visible, depending on which cable has been plugged in.
"Great for typists." It's very easy to use and the mouse is quality.
I thought I would have a problem switching my typing style (I'm a professional typist) but I had none at all. I think it's because it is so close together despite being split.
Definitely buy this instead of the wave, mostly because the mouse is so much better. :D
"Very Satisfied " I spent a lot of time researching keyboard and mice for my new computer system. At the end of the day I decided to go with Logitech opposed to Microsoft--and glad I did. I have a wireless Microsoft system with one of my other computers and it's OK. This Logitech system has a very nice feel and touch to the keyboard; it's really enjoyable to have your fingers on the keys. The mouse also is designed well and has all the functionality I need. Been using both for about 3 weeks now and very satisfied. I also really like the small size of the wireless receiver.

What our customer's say!
"Excellent purchase", the design is great and the feel of the touch of the keys is great, I previously tried a Microsft wireless keyboard/mouse and it sucked, but this keyboard is really great in all its aspects
"Not bad but the older Logitech Ergos were better...", I had purchased this to replace the older version (Cordless Desktop Pro) of Ergo board from Logitech that I ABSOLUTELY LOVED but my wife had spilled water on and killed. I don't know why they changed the key feel but like some others have said it IS a bit stiff. I had an older M$ Natural (v1 of the 4000 w/o the scroll wheel in the split) and it just died now I am at a crossroads. I tried the Logitech wave but I am used to the key placement and comfort of a split keyboard and it's just not the same. The key touch of the Comfort Laser is responsive and accurate but the keys themselves are "stiff" so if you prefer a softer touch keyboard then you may consider something else. Otherwise it IS a good keyboard. I have never tried the mouse so I cannot praise or criticize that part of the product.
"I expected cream of the crop", I'm a bit disappointed with the unit. I've used it for about 1 month. The comfort is very good but there are a few annoying points. I expected a quite keyboard. The space-bar as previously written about, has a nasty click and the other keys also click. As written, the home, end, insert and delete keys are in non standard positions. I thought I could get used to these annoyances but will probably purchase a different unit.
"best desktop i ever had", very easy to set up. easy on the wrists. would recomend this to all my cobputer friends. love the lay out.
"Good and Bad", I love the convenience, but sometimes they can be touchy. Actually, this morning, I tried to press one of the presets to get online and it wouldn't connect. Then I have to go into the settings and hit apply again, restart my computer and then it works....weird! I had this issue with the last combo I purchased and that was a Microsoft. Maybe it's just my computer, or ME.

Read this reviews before You buy...
"great keyboard, bad mouse", The left and right scroll built into the scroll wheel makes it close to impossible to click the scroll wheel button. I tried reassigning the left and right scroll buttons to server as the middle click button (a cheesy fix, but something i was willing to live with), but Logitech does NOT allow these buttons to have this particular functionality. I can reassign the buttoms to just about any other functionality, except the one I actually want. I emailed Logitech, and they said the request would be sent on to the appropriate team. I'm not keeping my fingers crossed. They didn't sound like it would be addresed any time soon.
The keyboard works well. I had the previous model that was incompatible with Windows Vista. That was the only reason I upgraded =(
I'm starting to get annoyed with Logitech
"Works great and just as it should", I read all the negative reviews before i bought the comfort keyboard and mouse and I havent had any of the issues that were described. I may not be touchy enough for a "loud clicking" spacebar to get under my skin, but it hasnt been an issue. I've had both the keyboard and mouse about 5-8 ft from the receiver and they worked fine. The mouse works like a mouse should; not great or aweful, but just works(what do you want from a mouse?). I've had it about 3 weeks and I really like the keyboard. My hands fall onto it in a very natural position and I dont have to reach for any keys. I would recommend to anyone who's not a two finger typer.
"Good wireless keyboard and mouse", This keyboard and mouse work quite well and I don't have many serious complaints. However, I just had to put this review in to mention the HOME, END, INSERT, PAGEUP keys are all kinds of mixed-up.
If you are a programmer or developer of any kind, it will take a LOT of getting used to to become familiar with the HOME and END key positions. They're setup in a queer 6x2 matrix with HOME & END, INSERT & PAGEUP, DELETE & PAGEDOWN in that order. You're constantly hitting END when you mean PAGEUP and toggling INSERT on and off as you type. It's maddening!
Using the scroll button on the mouse to click on hyperlinks to open them in another tab (or window) is a little tricky and takes some getting used to as well. Usually you end up scrolling down before you get the scroll wheel fully depressed. I also ended up disabling the left-right scroll since that was somewhat flaky as well, but I have never used that feature anyway so didn't miss it.
Anyway, do some touch-typing on this keyboard, particularly the HOME keys to see if it works for you. Other than that, this keyboard and mouse work well.
"Cordless Split Keyboard", This is a very comfortable split keyboard. The palm rest is very well done and the keys have a great feel. The mouse fits my hand very well and has good switch feel. I really like this set.
"Great keyboard. Mouse has poor battery life.", updated 7/14
pros: (1) both keyboard and mouse have ergonomic design. (2) both are very responsive with no lag whatsoever. (3) laser mouse is smooth as butter. (4) 5 yr warranty gives me a peace of mind on my investment. (5) when you standby or shut down your pc - the mouse and keyboard will also power down to save battery life. (6) the desktop is usb plug and play without needing any drivers / software. (7) the new version of logitech setpoint is very easy to use
cons: (1) mouse battery life is poor. this is the deal breaker. the battery slot has space for 2 AAs but even if you put in only 1 AA battery - the mouse will work fine. battery life is 1-3 weeks per battery depending on the quality of the battery e.g. dollar store vs expensive duracell. to clarify, this is an issue only for the mouse. the keyboard has good battery life.(2) mouse is heavy with two AA batteries. i too laughed at a review for saying this but after 8 hrs of daily use i also agreed. (3) the media buttons of the keyboard are very small. (4) a total of 9 keys e.g. insert, delete, page up / down, print screen etc are unconventionally placed. (5) the right shift button is very small. (6) lights for the caps lock, num lock etc are not on the keyboard itself but on the usb plug in.
other thoughts: i replaced the mouse from this set with a wired mouse. i'm unhappy with spending $80 for just a keyboard. i'm sure many of you guys just HAVE to have wireless, otherwise i'd recommend sticking with wired desktop set for now. wireless desktops still need a few years to improve. some have lagging issues while others like this have poor battery life (mouse). i would change my star rating to 3/5 but amazon won't let me. definitely good to invest in ergonomic products that you use everyday. this product isn't worth $80. only consider it if amazon gives a nice discount on a new set.
