"It's okay", If you're into FPS like Halo, Call of Duty, etc. then this game might not be for you. I figured that I'd like it simply due to the fact that it's a shooter, and I was surprised to find out that it's hardly similar to FPS. However, the game was not horrible, and I did play it for a month or so before getting an xbox 360.

"best ps2 online ", get this game if you have a ps2 and online in the back, the new ps2's have a modem built in and it is free online. Freinds play in the living room and I play in my room so we can chill online chattin.

"Pushed the limits too far", Combined assault is an extremely fun game. It is also an extremely buggy game. There are a hundred ways to game the glitches in the game in order to gain an unfair advantage. One example is that certain combintations of characters, maps, and weapons give you unlimited ammo without reloading or a medium machine gun that you can fire from the hip on the move with no recoil. There is a way to jump off of some high ground on one map and end up under the floor of a house, able to shoot up through the floor at unsuspecting (and helpless, bullets only pass through in one direction) opponents. You can be blown through a wall by an explosive breach (without getting hurt), as well as shooting an opponent through a solid door while he is placing a charge on the door (you can't normally shoot through walls or doors in this game). My assessment is that the programmers really pushed the envelope of the PS2's capabilites with this one, with generally good results...but they went a bit too far, resulting in predictable glitchy play that is easily exploited to gain an unfair advantage. There are also some unbalanced features in weapons choices. For example, if you program a level to allow only pistols, the terrorists have access to a machine pistol, while the seals do not. In a wide open level, this is insignificant, since the machine pistol has a shorter range and low accuracy, but in a level full of hallways or tunnels with short lines of sight, it allows a weak player to crush an experienced one.

Overall, it's a fun game, and I cannot wait for a SOCOM title for PS3 to be released, but the problems with this game lead me consider it a step down, not up, from SOCOM II.

"SOCOM Navy Seals", EXTREMELY fun for teens over 14. Best 3rd person shooting game. Player becomes Navy Seals. Graphics are good for ps2.

"Great Game - Some Glitches", This game has a lot of levels and situations that make it very fun and challenging. There are a few glitches that take this game down a notch. You're team member(s) will freeze on a location and they won't move. Bad guys have popped out of nowhere and killed me. These instances are rare and the game, overall, is very enjoyable.

"New to the series and enjoying it", I wanted a solid tactical shooter other than Rainbow Six and found that this game fits the profile in every way. It integrates a good mix of urban and open field combat. I enjoy the use of the third person camera and selecting a good combination of equipment for your squad becomes a welcomed challenge. Each level gives extreme flexibility with your gaming style; you can try every level with different tactics and weaponry. The greatest feature I found is the one button that you can use for squad movements, you can run basic maneuvers fairly smoothly. The instant action mode and unlock able weapons gives this game some good replay value as well.

There are two things I found disappointing:
>Vehicles don't play a bigger part.
>Your squad requires short and precise movements. If you try to move your team too far in one movement they may get hung-up in the environment and/or will not react well to the enemy. The glitches do require you to move like a SEAL team which can be seen as a good thing to some. I have found myself saving my teammates in some occasions.


"NICE", I bought this game and was not sure what to expect. Once I played it, I thought it was the best game ever. One cool thing is that every time you get more badges for things, you get more weapons. A bad thing is that a lot of the time, when it is a night mission, even when you are laying down and have a suppressor the enemies still see you. You can tell your teammates to do specific things such as; cover fire, non-lethal force, fire at will, hold fire, and move to position. One of these reviews talks about the glitches in it and they are right. Sometimes your guys don't do what you tell them. But overall it is a SWEET game. BUY IT!!!

"Socom multiplayer fun single player little buggy", Socom combined assault multiplayer is fun the firefights are intense teamwork really helps and everything blah blah blah... The single player needs some fixing. your teamates don't always respond to commands and sometimes they get stuck. Otherwise the game is good

"Exciting Game", This is more difficult than I thought it would be! I love it!

"Work the bugs out & it will be perfect", I liked the new features in particular telling specific teammates what to do. The badges idea is good and adds extended life to the game by trying to obtain additional badges. SOCOM is by the far the most consistently entertaining first person shooter franchise.

I did experince a lot of glitches / bugs in the game. Telling a teammate to do something and he doesnt do it like handcuff someone. The character will say "OK" but not do it. Other bugs I found were bad guys who can shoot through mountains, helicopters that are blown up and magically reappear and the most frustrating friendly fire problems where your buddies always, ALWAYS throw the grenades in the wrong place and blow you up. ( The best thing to do is not outfit them with grenades at all.)

Although its frustrating when you shoot a badguy in the chest from 400 yards away with a scoped .50 caliber rifle only to have him shoot you with his AK47 from the hip and kill you , it does add replay value and teaches you the lesson there is no such thing as cover. I think its fun and worth buying but do not agree its the best yet.
