"Action packed, emotionally charged, great movie!", I absolutely love this movie and the special features. It is action packed so there is never a lull, and it pulls on your heart-strings. It is a true story and for once, a movie actually got close to the truth. For some who were actually in Somalia serving our country, this movie may be a little hard to watch, my ex boyfriend could never watch this film because it was too realistic and brought back too many memories. But because it is realistic it is a great movie. I highly recommend this to anyone who likes true stories, drama, and war movies.

"Great movie", Putting two great filmmakers together leads to a great movie. The story kind of doesn't really matter but the action and the point that the movie wants to get across are both well directed. Also this must be Josh Hartnett's best performance, and good performances from all involved.

"One of the best war movies", I have seen this movie numerous times, in cinema, on TV and now on Blu-ray. Because there are so many scenes that involve fighting at night and dawn, I knew it will be a good test to the Blu-ray DVD system I've just set up. It did not disappoint me. Sound effects and clarity are just great. Really enjoy the movie with such a reasonable price. The only downside is that the story is a bit depressive...but unfortunately that is something in real life that cannot be changed

"One of the best combat action movies in the history of cinema", Next to 'Saving Private Ryan' this is by far, the most combat-intensive movie I've ever seen. When the shooting starts, there's very little letup. Delta Sgt. 1st Class 'Hoot Gibson' (Eric Bana - Munich, Hulk, Lucky You, Troy) and Ranger 'SSgt. Matt Eversmann' (Josh Hartnett - Lucky Number Slevin, Sin City, The Black Dahlia) do "bang-up" jobs in this story of the bloody battle in "The Mog."

Great contributions from William Fitchner (HEAT, Invasion, Prison Break, The Dark Knight) as Delta Sgt 1st Class Jeff Sanderson, Jason Isaacs (Resident Evil, Harry Potter, The State Within) as the by-the-book Ranger Capt. Mike Steele, and Tom Sizemore (HEAT, Saving Private Ryan, Bringing Out The Dead) as the rough and tough Ranger Lt. Col. Danny McKnight.

It never ceases to amaze me how so many foreign actors can easily imitate American accents in movies. Whereas, American actors hardly ever come through with convincing foreign accents. Case(s) in point: Ewan McGregor as Specialist Grimes, Jason Isaacs as Capt. Steele, Ewen Bremner as Spec. Sgt. Nelson, Orlando Bloom as Pvt. Todd Blackburn and Bana as Hoot. All handling their American accents with excellence during the entire movie. You just couldn't tell they are "foreigners."

The detail of the weaponry used was good; especially the Black Hawks with mini-guns and the "Little Birds" with mini-guns and 7-shot rocket pods. With the excepting of one screen shot from above the "Little Bird" gunships, showing a Huey instead. A few other script continuity miscues, but mostly unnoticed by the technically deficient (for want of a more descriptive term). As previously mentioned, literally non-stop action of all the units involved in this undertaking.

You'll notice future television stars such as Carmine Giovanazzo (CSI: NY) as Ranger Sgt. Goodale, Enrigue Murciano (Without A Trace) as Ranger Sgt. Ruiz and Nikolaj Coster Waldau (New Amsterdam) as Delta MSgt. Gary Gordon. And former T.V. star Ron Eldard (Men Behaving Badly) as CWO Mike Durant.

"Somalia", Based on an actual operation, the action is intense. Very reallistic effects, and well acted. It really makes you feel for the soldiers who are asked to carry out such operations. I am glad they have this film to tell their story.

"Black Hawk Down is a winner!", The movie Black Hawk Down, which follows the Army Rangers and Delta Forces the Clinton Administration left in Mogadishu, Somalia, in the 1990s. Based on true events, the movie retells the horrific events that led to the US military's most embarrassing and violent battle of that decade. The film is incredible in every aspect, including the cast, the production, the realistic environments and the enthralling battles. Everything looks spectacular in Blu-Ray high definition, especially the battles. This movie is not only an incredible one to watch, but also is of important significance to the American people and ought to be watched.

"Very good movie", As the commentator who knows how to assess evidence of war films (and narratives: cf. Listmania on my list "Vietnam War"), modern (ie from the Vietnam War) and ancient (World War II ), I loved this film.

The territory of the conflict that is still relevant to tribal rivalries against the backdrop of Islamism and corruption. The UN mandate in Somalia has unfortunately not changed the situation.

The deployment of American forces is typical of those used in current conflicts (Iraq for example) with this spirit of superiority owned by the youth: little culture, a humanistic vision and invincibility. This vision will be shocked.

The solidarity of brothers in arms is clear and honor is given to the two Delta Group NCOs Master Sgt. Gary Ivan Gordon and Sgt. First Class Randy Shughart ( see http://www.history.army.mil/html/moh/somalia.html) who sacrificed their lives to save a helicopter pilot wounded. They received the Medal of Honor by the US Congress.

Very good movie.

"blackhawk up", This is a very good war movie. There isnt much to compare it to. The Somilia thing didnt produce many movies. The movie stayed 80% true to the movie. Read the book and you have basically seen the movie. Lots of action. This movie gives you a little insight to what our special forces can do.

"Ultrarealistic", Looking for a war movie? this is it the most realistic and maybe the most accurate war movie ever made.I've watchted this film 10 times plus.So many times I've lost count and every time it just gets better and better.Finally on BLU-RAY the only way to see this film. It's as if the action was happening in your living room.(make sure you have a surround sound system crank it up!!!)
