"POTC: Dead Man's Chest "
Just because you didn't enjoy this Pirates movie as much as the others, doesn't mean you won't like this score. It has the most eclectic sound in my opinion (chimes, pipe organ play a part) and is the most interesting score of the three movies. The first movie score was dominated by a swash-buckling, fast-paced score, and the third is in a league on its own (only re-using themes from the first and second movie sparsely throughout). The second score sounds very different. It's a nice change and I recommend it.

"It's a film soundtrack"
Everyone has an opinion, and music is so subjective to begin with-
That said- neither Dead mans Chest or the third installment of the films music have near the lyric quality or melodic themes of the 1st.
plus this to me, is devoid of emotion- its a film score just like many , many others- However, the exception is Davy Jones theme. I do rather like it- but again I would prefer it more simple. And all those who think they can recognize Zimmer? sorry, but Badelt would not have been credited with composing the melody on Curse had he not done just that.
I don't think Zimmers variations on the original theme do anything for the music or the film. I liked the original- a more contemporary treatment is just not my cup of tea- but it will be for someone else.

"Dead Man's Chest CD from Pirates of the Caribbean..."
I felt told that the second show was not as good as the first and wasn't quite sure myself. I thought the excitement level dropped a little but when I listened to the CD I was pleasantly surprised and liked its music just as well, almost better than the first. I'm not disappointed by getting it.

"Piratesof the Caribbean Dead Man's Chest Soundtrack"
My entire family loved this soundtrack. If you enjoyed the movies then you will like this. It's a great CD to load onto your MP3 or iPod player and go for a long walk. Also lovely to play in the background if you have any Pirate theme parties at your home.

Thank you for faithfully reproducing the music from the wonderful movies. I am thrilled to hear this music pouring out of my teen's room rather than the depressing music that her age group leans toward. The whole family can enjoy this music and relive some great movie moments.
