Others say...
"Disappointed" It's a lot bigger than it looks. It almost spans the length of my entire laptop keyboard save about 2 inches, taking away the point of using a gamepad instead of a keyboard. I didn't like my old gamepad because it had a super bright light on it that's completely needless. I turn on the fang and once again, a stupid unnecessary light for wasting my laptops battery life even faster.
This is not joystick / gamepad compatible, meaning you cannot click to configure the keys quickly in-game. You have to use the disgusting z-engine software. It's only 11mb ram and 42mb total installed so its actually not too bad at all for the functionality it has, however the software didn't even work, and I have XP Home. I had to download the latest from their website and uninstall the software that came with the gamepad. Despite its size its pretty light weight.
I guess its ok but I give it 1 because: It's massive. If gaming, there's no way you can move and hit the top buttons at the same time unless your ridiculously moving with your thumb and pinky. The bottom part shown in the image can eassssily break off. It clips into the fang with two really thin plastic clips. It won't last long. The software installed version 1.1 .net not even prompting me? It doesn't have blank default or template, meaning you have to reset all the keys to do nothing, manually, then set it as default everytime you get off your game. Otherwise accidentally touching the keys will make it input some random character. It has something to loadup a key layout whenever you open a certain program, but it won't unload it after exiting the game. It has a pointless light, I just wanted a box with keys. It's not programmable with autohotkey or custom software due to not being a standard joystick / gamepad, the name "fang gamepad" is deceiving, it's a "fang" period, not a gamepad, though fang sounds cooler than "a thin plastic lid full of keys" which is what it really is.
"Very Worthwhile" The Ideazon FANG uses Ideazon's trademarked and famous butterfly WASD buttons. I have owned a Zboard and was impressed with it's performance. In buying this I was expecting a sturdy build and in fact got one. The buttons don't feel flimsy and AREN'T flimsy at all. They are rather solid but not sticky at all. The small Jump button on the side works rather well and provides a nice click sound to let you know you hit it. It using the side button isn't what you want you can in fact set the 7 and 8 buttons to Jump and they are in nearly the same place as your jump on your keyboard. The drivers to this device are wonderful, they allow customizations to current keysets to allow minor changes or major overalls. You can make your own as well, say if you wanted one for Photoshop or a program like 3DS Max or if you just brought out your old copy of Battlefield 1942 and wanted to set up a keyset for it. The program is really easy to use. Select a key, choose a key color so you can the set easier label the key and input your command with delays if you want them. The only problem I have with this device is in getting used to it it can feel a little clunky the first few matches and it will fatigue your hand as you learn it's workings. As you grow onto the device your hand may start feeling much better as you frag everyone in your path. Tested on an HP Pavilion a6330f with Vista while playing Call of Duty 4 in both a 53-man free-for-all at Shipment and a 25-man TDM at Overgrowth. Also tested on World of Warcraft, unless you have a mic I do not suggest this product for WoW. If you have a mic I very much recommend this device.
"works as advertised" Easy to program. Lots of preprogrammed configurations available. Only complaint is the label is trying to peal off. (Big deal.)
"Great Game Pad!" I really like all the Ideazon products for gaming. On my regular pc I have their USB keyboard with changeable keysets, but I bought this for my gaming laptop as it fits so easily in my bag. Very durable product with a great key layout especially for first person shooters.
"zboard fang" this is a great product. i play this with all my games. it does great job

What our customer's say!
"The best game-pad out there", This game-pad is phenomenal for FPS games. It's always easy to find the butterfly shaped D-Pad and you don't get confused like I do sometimes with a regular keyboard or other game-pads where every key feels the same while your head is looking at the screen. Unlike other game-pads, this one is very left-handed friendly with a perfectly symmetrical design. It took an hour to get used to but after that, you'd never want to go back. The software for mapping keys is also as easy as you can get. Anyone who is an avid FPS gamer would be doing themselves a disservice to not get this. This pad was with me all the way through Crysis, Call of Duty 4, Stranglehold, Prey, Gears of War, and many many more.
"This thing is pretty cool!", The Fang gamepad is pretty cool. I never really thought about getting a gamepad, I didn't think it would help. However, I'm one of those old school guys that still uses the arrow keys for movement in games. The thing is, is that there isn't nearly as many buttons over there next to the arrow keys, so when you get into games that has alot of different funtions its gets hard to be able to reach all the buttons. So that is why I got this and I must say it was worth it. It does take some getting used to when you first get it and I don't like that you have to turn the software on and load a profile for each game but its not that big of deal. Once you get the hang of it you won't want to go back simply because of all the different buttons. On americas army I can finally change weapons without moving my hands CLEAR up to the number keys. Some people complain about the jump key on the side but i think it is perfect it just takes some getting used to. This gamepad might not be as helpful for most people because they are used to the wsad key set up but if your an arrow guy like me, this thing is a must have!!!!
"Almost there...", If this had lighted keys it would be perfect. Until then, I'm sticking with the Merc Stealth Illuminated gaming keyboard.
"Does great job.. still room to improve", I have owned this thing for close to a year now (maybe more). I use it mostly in mmorpg's. (everything from WoW, Daoc, EVE, EQ2) I like this kinda pad for mmorpg's because when you pvp timing of your hotkeys is critical. With as closely compact as all the keys are here, as well as the large amount of keys your get it makes it a perfect fit for mmo's.
If i could have given this a 4.5 star rating I would have. I mentioned the room to improve. My only complaint is the ergonomics (button layout) on this pad. While the red direction buttons are about as perfect as you could ask for for layout and prominence, the problem is all the other buttons. There is a learning curve to memorizing where they are in relation to your direction keys if you wanna be instantaneous accurate at all times. (hardcore mmo players here all know we need anywhere between 4-16 hotkeys depending on the class you play.. hunting for a key isnt something you wanna deal with in pvp) Once you memorize the layout of course this gets easier to use. However, even still close to a year later I will find myself looking down sometimes to find my hotkey on occasion.
Its programability of complex key press macros and redefining hotkeys makes this thing a snap to use for literally any game you could image. Overall im pleased.. However, if they ever release a "redux" i will be keeping a eye out for it. If they could make the buttons more "tactile" and different along the top and sides it would go a long way in find you keys easier.
"Almost Perfect!", Only thing this piece needs is more weight... it tends to slide around too much for my taste.
Weight it down and you have a winner!

"buyer beware", The device becomes painful to use after protracted use. The layout of the keys embodies no ergonomics. The software is difficult to configure and pre-programmed keys can not be reassigned. Attempting to create macros was a dismal failure in part because of the absence of any literature in the manual, on line (both product website and user forums), or available through the companies scant 'support' facilities. When support was requested via email (the only means of making contact) the response did not address the questions submitted and pointed me to the user forums. Seems they like selling the device much more than supporting the device.
The keys on the pad are pretty much flat which affords no traction during use and fingers regularly slip off of them during game play. The device rests on hard plastic feet which allows it to slide around presenting a problem when game action is high. Found myself having to reposition it several times per-session.
Overall: Regret making the purchase.
"works great so far", My son uses it for some of his games, for others he prefers to stick with the keyboard.
"A Great Addition for Gamers", The Fang is a great accessory to any PC gamer's setup. I gave it a whirl and once I got past the initial breaking in period, where you have to train yourself to adjust to the different size movement keys, I was off and running. It is completely customizable and all the keys are assignable to whatever you prefer.
The large red keys are your main movement keys and the size increase really helped me move around better. The design is very intuitive and it hot plugs right into USB. It also has some adjustments for height and (along the top) controls for your media player too. All in all a great game controller!
"Great Product Reasonably Priced", Received the FANG over the Holidays. Love it!. I contemplated the full keyboard but, decided I like my ergonomic one. Now I have the best of both worlds. The FANG came with a ton of templates for games. The only game that I would like that is not in the templates is OBLIVION but, the FANG can be modified to work with it. Also, this is a USB device and my computer is on the right and I am left handed. The cable goes across my keyboard. I would like to see a wireless FANG.
"Fang Review", I was a little leary about trying this product sight unseen, but I've got to say how impressed I am by the Fang Gamepad. It's very high quality construction will last a long time. The keys are comfortable and responsive. The only complaint I would have is that the drivers that come with the gamepad will not auto update, but it was a simple matter to go the their homepage and download the most current drivers. I mainly use this pad for MMORPGs and it's been an awsome addition to my gameplay.
