Others say...
"The best the wii has to offer." This game is amazing! I am a huge metroid fan and this game is the best of the three prime games (not including prime hunters). It beats the last games in controlls, gameplay, graphics, and fun. Now to the people who have never played metroid before this is not a shoot all the bad guys game or series. It is centered around solving puzzles and exploration but it does have alot more action and storyline than the other three.I will break it down for you.
Graphics: A+ some of the best on the system. better than all the gamecube graphics and PS2 graphics even some xbox and 360 games(not all but some).
Fun:A+ For a metroid fan or a non metroid fan this game is loads of fun.
Controlls:A+ It was a little awkward at first but once you get used to them its a breeze to controll samus.
Speedrunning:F- The metroid series made speedrunning (trying to win a game in a certain amount of time) popular. The metroid prime series is a bust when it comes to speedrunning. I mean you can do it but you don't get a better ending so why try.
Storyline:A+ Alot more story than the last two installments by far. And all in great looking cutscenes.
Action:A+.Some people might want more but i think it is just enough.
Puzzles:A+. I have nearly every metroid game and have played them many times over and the puzzles in this game stump me. But if you stand back and think about them for a minute anyone can figure them out.
Bosses:A+. Nothing to rival Flaghhra in MP1 but still very good.
Boss and enemy AI:A. The AI ranges from very good to running on a predictable but hard to beat cycle
The one problem i have is the fact the game series is getting to popular. Usually when a series gets popular they stop making good sequels and start making remakes with a different name. But if nintendo can keep metroid games coming like this, fresh and new, it might one day rival mario in sales. All in all a wonderful game.
"An elite title for the Wii." I am a casual gamer who usually spends most of his time tied up in sports games and rhythm games, like DDR and Rock Band. I almost never extend my gaming exploits into titles with story arches or complicated controls. That being said, the first two Metroid Primes for Gamecube were two games that I played regularly, with simple controls, good AI, and a difficulty that was easy enough to keep playing but also tough enough to make the game rewarding.
The third Metroid Prime, this time for the Wii, does not disappoint. It's intuitive controls using the Wii-mote and nunchuck make gameplay enjoyable, not frustrating. It has a great story which is set up very nicely, allowing you to save in places where you can pick it back up a few days later and not forget where you were in the game, one of the criticisms I have of many of the games that have come out recently. Metroid is a game you'll want to continue to play, but one that you don't have to play every day to remember where you were and what you were doing. It is in the upper echelon of Wii titles and I give it my highest recommendation.
"MP3 is the best in the series." I finally bought this game a couple weeks ago when I got my Wii. This game is so much fun. There's a better story line, perfect controls, great sound, and some pretty nice graphics too. Once and for all we get to kill Dark Samus and stop the Corruption for good!
I'll start off by saying the new weapons and gadgets are pretty cool. Some are sort of useless after one use, such as the ship missiles, but are still required to reach 100% pickups. I have no idea why there are so many ship missile expansions in the game because they are absolutely useless unless you want to get the special ending. Oh well; that takes no value away from the game whatsoever. Every new beam you get is backwards compatible with your previous beam, which is frickin awesome. No more D-pad using to switch between beams.
The only quirk I really have about the weapons is that missiles are rarely used and not even necessary to kill the bosses in this game. Most of the time you'll be using the hyperbeam to kill tough enemies and bosses. And you get that almost in the beginning of the game!!!
The sound in MP3 is very good. I don't think it's as good as MP1 was but the soundtrack is not bad at all. Bryo is probably my favorite piece. MP1 had almost identical music to Super Metroid in non midi form and that's what made it so great. Magmoor Caverns took the music from Super Metroid's Norfair area and that is by far my favorite level music from Metroid. The voice acting is also actually pretty good for what little there is.
I give sound a 4.5 out of 5.
The graphics in MP3 are some of the best on the Wii to this day (although it doesn't have much competition). There is definitely a difference between the standard composite cables and the component with 480p. The game looks sharper and less blurry. Although there are more jagged edges while playing in 480p, the overall clearness and color of the game look great. The game runs at 60 FPS even on the planet Elysia (which reminds me of Cloud City from Star Wars :D). Retro did a great job on creature and boss animations as they are amazingly detailed for the Wii.
I give graphics a 4.5 out of 5.
The controls in MP3 are the best I have ever seen in a first person shooter game and I wouldn't change a dang think about the controls. Nintendo has done a revolutionary thing with the Wii remote and the controls are so precise you'd think it wasn't wireless. It's almost like using a keyboard and mouse.
The nunchuk joystick (resembles w,s,a,d on a keyboard) moves your character up and down, and strafes left and right while the Wii remote (resembles a pc mouse) looks up, down, left and right. The controls may take you a little while to get used to after playing on a standard controller but once you get used to them, you won't want to go back. I wish all FPS games had this control setup now.
I give controls a 5 out of 5.
The gameplay in MP3 is the best part. The first time I played this game was at my best friend's house and I think I played the first level 3 or 4 times just to show him and his brother how cool it was, and how awesome the very first boss looked (on the federation ship).
Samus is now able to view the inside of her spacecraft and manually hit buttons inside her ship. She can use a communications radio channel, view a galaxy map and use an options menu inside the ship. While a couple of these are really not usefull to complete the game there are a few easter eggs dealing with her ship.
The few planets in this game are big and beautiful. I would have liked to see more planets to explore but I really satisfied with was was there. The zone layout is different from other Metroid games as instead of only 1 planet to explore with several areas, there are 3 planets now with 2 or 3 areas to explore on each. While altogether there aren't as many different named zones as there was in Super Metroid or Metroid Prime, the worlds are arguably bigger and more complex.
Elysia is by far the most advanced world to navigate in the series as there are many cannons and grapple points to traverse between the areas in the sky. Bryo is also pretty interesting. It has a jungle, fire and a small ice area which can be accessed a little later in the game. I would have liked to see a larger ice area like what was in Prime 1 but it doesn't take away from the gameplay at all. The fire area is also not as awesome as in the original Prime but hey, the zones here are still pretty sweet!
The boss fights are pretty amazing. Some are very easy and others can be pretty tricky and difficult. There is a lot of manual aiming to be done when fighting bosses which can be good and bad. A lot of key firing spots on bosses are hard to hit because they're either too small or the boss is moving around too much to get a good shot off. But it just takes a patience and if you can avoid the boss's attacks then you can obviously get more attempts at destroying it. The bosses are big and intimidating as always! The metroid series never failed to give huge and epic boss battles and this game proves no different. Although each planet's seed bosses are by far the largest (they are world bosses and they should be!), the mini bosses pose a high threat as well. They are fast and vicious and will always keep you on your toes.
I would have liked the game to be a bit longer. I collected 100% rating just 15 hours into the game and unlocked the best ending my first play through, but that was also on Normal difficulty. Even so it seemed too short the time was very well worth it. I'm not one that plays every game in normal, hard or very hard difficulty levels since I play so many different games, but I have to say I think I actually died a couple times on some boss fights on normal difficulty :P.
I give the gameplay a 5 out of 5.
Bottom line - if you love the Metroid Series then you'll love this game! I really think it is the best in the Prime series, but that is, of course, my opinion.
I give Metroid Prime 3 a 4.75 out of 5.
"gets boring after awhile" This game is good and has provided hours of fun. I like all the new stuff they added to the metroid universe, but this game gets really boring when you're at the half-way point, and you'll probably keep getting stuck causing much frustration.
If you decide to get Metroid Prime 3, buy the players guide along with it.
"One of, if not the best game ever made" I don't have much time to write a review right now (I will come back later and fill in more), but let me just say this: anyone and everyone should play this game - it's really that fun. If you are at all interested in buying this, stop looking and start driving to the nearest store that has it, and buy it. You won't regret it!

Why I buy this one ?
- First-Person Perfect - Control Samus by moving with the Nunchuk controller and aiming with the Wii Remote controller, allowing for a level of immersion unlike anything they have ever experienced
- Wonderful Weapons - Samus employs well-known power-ups like the Grapple Beam and Morph Ball to survive. Using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers, you will be able to grasp and pull things by using actual arm movements, as well as execute amazing feats like aiming and blasting in midair or at a full run.
- Phazon's Powers - The game also incorporates a new system involving Phazon. If you fill Samus' Phazon supply to a certain level, Samus will temporarily go into hyper mode, a state in which she can pull off incredible feats. On the flip side, if she exceeds the maximum Phazon level, she'll perish.
- For the first time in the Metroid series, Samus' ship will be used in active game play

What our customer's say!
"Instant classic", And not just because it's another game in a classic series. The game takes full advantage of what makes the Wii a unique system - the Wii remote. You will FEEL as if your right arm is Samus' cannon - you turn, she turns, you aim, she aims. The controls are very responsive and adjustable to your liking. The difficulty setting is also adjustable. A new feature is the addition of collectible points by scanning in game and those points can be used to redeem for game upgrades and can even be sent to friends who also own the game. This is overall an awesome must have game for the Wii that will provide you with entertainment worth much more than the price. And by all means, stand up when you play and get in the game.
"Metroid Prime: Redeemed", This game essentially corrects, tweaks, and upgrades everything good, great, and broken about the preceding 2 Metroid Prime games.
1. Much more linear level designs. Though some would claim this goes against the Metroid ethos, I think it really bolsters the exploring aspect of the game. Prime 2 had the most serpentine and confusing labyrinths which you had to traverse again and again in light and dark worlds, turning the game into more of a task than an adventure. Here, every room and corridor seems to have a fresh purpose.
2. Bosses are actually fun. No Omega Pirate level frustrations in this one (at least on nominal settings). And scanning a boss actually reveals what to do as opposed to vaguely confusing you (Metroid Hatcher is an exception however). The bosses may be too easy for real Prime pros, but for those of us whose skills are perhaps low, having clever but beatable bosses saves the day. And there are plenty here.
3. Controls are fantastic, except when they aren't. That is, 95% of the time, the controls are a wonder. Being able to shoot whatever you want while moving wherever you want really opens up the gameplay. In some boss fights, the lock-on mechanism seems to work against you, and having your pointer go off the edge of the screen during a boss fight can lead to mass confusion.
4. No more endless battling low level pests. Many times in Prime 1 and especially 2, you have to enter an area and take out wasps or something equally annoying before proceeding to do whatever you came to do. And hopefully you don't leave the room only to have to come right back. Fortunately, they've toned that down here, if not alleviated it altogether.
5. No more switching beams and visors. Beams accumulate in power. Visors are really minimized. Your abilities don't get in your way.
6. You aren't following the Metroid tradition of accumulating the same abilities after an initial weakening. They've thought up some clever new enhancements and even brought back a great old upgrade that had yet to be in 3D.
7. Beautiful graphics. Just amazing what they were able to get the supposedly graphically-challenged Wii to produce.
8. Great music. Although the endless bowser-bee chanting on Bryyo gave me a headache, this game carries on the tradition of great moody Metroid musical themes (and bringing back old themes).
The game should also get a special Wii award for being just about the only software to do something useful with the nunchuk's motion sensing abilities.
"Metroid Prime 3 Corruption Review: Wii", The game totally sucks. It is way too difficult in an absurd sense. I mean the puzzles are really mindless sometimes. Example: There will be a small piece of rock lying in some corner that you need to blast to find your way out. Now how on earth can you figure that out apart from hit and trial and missing it out several times. I gave up the game then found out this link: http://www.nextgenwalkthroughs.com/systems/wii/metroid3/index.php which has a complete walk through of the game, so continued playing but then gave up again as it was not as much fun. I have played RE4 for several hours and it was just awesome, the puzzles lent special life to the game. These puzzles are just mindless.
"A Great Update to a Well-Loved Series", My review in a nutshell: I love this game, and I recommend it to anyone that enjoys a good, deep action-adventure game, or those who are ready to take the jump into more serious Wii games.
In a slightly larger shell:
MP3 is the first foray for Samus Aran into the world of Wii controls, and I have to say, it is a very successful one. The new controls are more than just a button reassignment, something that the latest Legend of Zelda had a hard time escaping. Unlike that title, though, MP3 was designed from the ground up as a Wii game. There are rumors that Nintendo added the Nunchuck peripheral to the Wii just because the developers of this game asked for it. I believe it. Motion-sensitive and IR tracking tasks are sprinkled throughout the game, and rather than feeling tacked on, the controls feel unique and pull you in. Instead of pressing A to remove that power cell, you pull the sucker out and twist it free. The first time you see your movements doing that, or pulling a shield off of a bad guy, you know you're experiencing something special. IR tracking for the main look movement (moving your helmet) is incredibly accurate and welcome, too. Red Steel is an example of how this can go bad. MP3 is an example of how it can go incredibly good. Do yourself a favor and set the look sensitivity to Advanced, though. It makes all the difference.
On to the story. MP3 is the first Samus game I've felt the need to finish. I played MP1 until about half-way, and got lost among the dozens of arm cannon powers and specially locked rooms. I'm sure if I tried again, I could get through it, but I didn't feel that need to play on. In this game, that need is strong. I loved the story, even if it isn't quite up to par with recent hits like Mass Effect and Bioshock. The whole game is mapped out more clearly, without sacrificing the puzzles that made the first game good. I'm also a fan of the new upgrade scheme. Instead of having a bunch of different attacks, every new upgrade supersedes the last one. It makes playing the game much less stressful. Also, I just want to add that voice-overs (for everybody but Samus) are very well done, and add so much to the game. This game feels alive, instead of the lonely, sterile feeling I got out of MP1. Overall, it is a much more mature, large attempt at storytelling, and it is Retro Studios best effort yet.
Just a quick word about the graphics: They are awesome! I'm talking XBOX at its best, here. I put it on the level of Halo 2. Bloom lighting, beautiful texture work, and expansive worlds work to make the whole experience feel bigger and better. Sure, there are annoying side effects to this beauty: doors that you shoot open may take 10 or more seconds to open in extreme cases, as the huge rooms behind them load. I think it is totally worth it, though, and I am not willing to go back to MP1 graphics just for quick loading.
All in all, this is easily in the top five Wii games to date. A solid story and presentation, along with beautiful, imaginative graphics and a mindblowing control scheme, make this a no-brainer for fans of the series, and a serious contender for any Wii gamer that bought there system for more than Wii Sports. If you are expecting a first-person shooter, you might be mildly disappointed, as this game is equal parts of action, puzzle, and exploration. I think it's a winning formula, though, and my opinion is that all competent gamers should try it out.
"GREAT GAME!", This is my 2nd Metroid, (1st one was prime hunters for ds) and I loved it. It was long lasting (more than 20 hours, without loosing much time) and the gameplay is just INCREDIBLE! Nothing more to say, one of my favorites for wii!

"Puzzling game with lots of Action", This game has many puzzles to discover while keeping it exciting and fun at the same time.
Graphics A- Not bad at all for a wii game.
Sound B Gets repetitive and annoying at some times.
Length A Plenty of levels, have spent six and I'm only 18% done.
Gameplay A Great use of the wii controler.
Main Point: Great first person shooter game, best one out for the wii. A must buy for any wii owner, only downside is that there is no multiplayer.
"Metroid Prime is Primetime!", This is great game for the wii. The Graphics are excellent considering that the wii game console only cost 250 bucks! It takes a little gettting used to using the wii remote to shoot at targets, but once you get the hang of it it moved pretty fast. The only con that I would have about the game is the wii remote play. I would rather prefer a remote similiar to the xbox 360 so you hands don't get as tired. Would I recommend this to others? Yes! Enjoy...
"One of the best games ever", In the 16 some odd years i have been playing video games, I have found few games truly enjoyable to the point where I can play them over and over. The Metroid Prime series are just a few of the games to make it to that elite category. Metroid Prime was probably the best game to hit the Nintendo Gamecube. Metroid Prime 2 continued in its predecessor's footsteps. Now we have Metroid Prime 3. After playing the game for 3 days around work schedules, and only getting to the 3rd area of the game, I can tell this will be another. The control scheme on the Wii is easy to get used to, and even makes sense, even for this being my first Wii game I've played. I absolutely loved the battle with Meta Ridley. I look forward to playing through this game further and kickin' Dark Samus' butt.
"Great Game - Well worth the price", This game is fantastic. Not only is creative and unique, but it is very challenging and really utilizes the Wii controls. The plants you visit are wonderful, the graphics are spectacular and the puzzles are very thoughtful. I thought I would be done with this game very quickly when I first read about it, but it has provided hours of entertainment and I am only 20% of the way through. One of the best features is that the game is not linear. You really have to understand the story and remember where you have been and what clues were given to make it through (don't worry, there are plenty of online walkthroughs if you get stuck).
"Great game, but falls short of standards set by predecessors", My rating is based on multiple factors, all of which will be described in detail.
Controls: 5 stars
The controls are very innovative and unique. It's fun to aim the Wiimote like it's actually Samus' arm cannon; and even more fun to use the nunchuck like a lasso when using the Grapple Beam.
Graphics: 5 stars
The greaphics in this game are nothing short of amazing. It takes full advantage of the Wii's capabilities. The details, particle effects, and the like are beautiful.
Plot: 3.5 stars
For those of you that like a good storyline, Corruption might as well not even have one. These games have nothing to do with each other except for the Space Pirates, the Galactic Federation, and Dark Samus. The plot of this game itself is actually decent, but considering the fact that it has almost nothing to do with its predecessors is disappointing.
Comparatively: 3
This one falls short of its predecessors. The bosses and puzzles are MUCH better and harder in 1 and 2 than in 3. In 1, I died a few times. In 2, I died a bunch. In 3, I didn't die once. The Wii controls vastly impair your previous ability to have 4 missile types, 4 visor types, and 4 beam types all at the same time. In this one, you only get ONE of each at any given time. In addition, 2 was going in the right direction with multiplayer. This one could easily have had an improved version like that one.
Overall, 4. This game is amazing and worth the money, but don't expect it to be just like the first 2.
