"The Best Gift I Ever Received!"
Mine was given to me as a gift. It has been perfect! It's so easy to use and keep up with. I love that I can take multiple books with me on a trip and they are all in on spot, my Kindle. It's packing made easy for a traveler like me.

"Waste of money"
A book is much easier to keep up with and a lot cheaper. Not sure what all of the hype is over the Kindle as I think it is very over-rated.

"Love my Kindle"
After researching both Kindle and sony e-readers I decided on the Kindle and after recieving it so glad I did. After having some initial trouble starting (I'm truly techno challenged) I made a call to tech support who had me up and reading in seconds. I find it easy to buy and download books from Amazon and what a plus not having to buy and carry all those books, not to mention the saving in cost of hard back books. The initial cost was expensive, but worth every penny. So glad I chose the Kindle for both ease of use and conveniance.

"Great product with great support"
OK - things don't always go as expected and my Christmas Kindle had a glitch on the screen. I contacted Tech Support and they had me Reset a couple of times and it soon became obvious this would not correct it. No problem. They immediately ordered a new one for me and sent me a return label to return the defective one. The new one arrived in 3 days - so they obviously have ways of getting replacements for this high-demand product. Now - how to re-download the books I had already purchased? Tech Support again. And again, great service, no waiting, they did everything for me and couldn't have been nicer. You don't need my review of the product because there are so many here that say the same thing. I love the convenience of having several books available at all times and not having the weight of them in my purse. And for a "book-aholic" who has trouble cleaning out her bookcase periodically, this is a real boon. Needless to say, it was my husband who bought this for me!

"Tough to hold on to"
Kindle is great for the avid reader with space and dollar savings over time. Changeable type size is great. Problems: Kindle doesn't want to stay in case. Tab in case to hook on back of Kindle is not most efficient and back cover of Kindle itself tends to slip off. You also have to develop a strategy for holding the Kindle. Almost entire right-front of unit is a "page forward." Almost entire left-front is "back page" and "next page" buttons. I spend some time getting to the current page because of pressing these buttons while just trying to hold and read.

What our customer's say!

"Wonderful!!!!", I am in love with my Kindle. I've had it I think about a year. When they first where available after Christmas last year.
I haven't read this much in YEARS. I hate holding books. I've always felt they where a pain to flip pages. Silly I know. I agree that the case these come with is definitely sub par. I have gotten a fat lip a few times from it. But I got the new case from M-edge and that problem is definitely fixed!
So I'm back to loving my Kindle!!! Definitely worth the price. I adore the whispernet and use it all the time. I had an rca ereader a long time ago and loved that even though it was very heavy. But it never got the books you wanted to read. And hardly ever got the top 20 books. So you where stuck reading older books. The kindle has most if not all of the new releases! ON the DAY they RELEASE!!!! It's amazing!!!
I'm getting my sister one for her Birthday!

"I own it! :)", I asked for this for Christmas, and I got it! I simply love my Kindle and it has changed how I do my reading (casual that is, I still have my textbooks!)

For a college student like me, the Kindle is a godsend. I have many books and love to re-read stories, but I have little room for spare books in my room. I also read a lot of manga (Japanese comics) and the grey scale in the Kindle is just lovely for this. I use a program to automatically resizes downloaded manga, and then I put it on my SD card as "pictures". Normal books, in .azw and .mobi books work just fine. As for the PDF issue, I use MobiPocket reader free software to convert the PDFs to a nice .mobi file for my Kindle.

Downloaded content (Wall Street journal for me) downloads great and I love it. I like not having to pay for the EV-DO, and the basic browser is great for reading articles on Wiki on the go.

I'll just list some pros and cons...

PROS:
-can support many file formats
-beautiful, glare-free screen
-SDHC card slot for more storage
-FREE Sprint EV-DO connection for downloads/basic web
-comfortable to hold
-portable!

CONS:
-price
-device sometimes feels a little "slow" and "sluggish" but honestly, it shouldn't matter much. You're reading after all!
-keypad input feels a little slow
-sometimes you have to reset it once in a great while (a little annoying)

"Kindle ", I bought this for my wife and she loves it. The only down side is that it doesn't have a back light, so she has to have the lamp on when she reads and it keeps me awake.

"RANDOM KINDLE PICTRES", I LOVE MY KINDLE AND THE RANDOM PICTURES AND QUOTES THAT KINDLE DOWNLOADS TO MY UNIT ARE A DELIGHT... WHAT A WONDEROUS DEVISE

"Kindle-riffic", I love my kindle! I just downloaded a new book by my fav author and saved over $20! The only drawback I'm having is when I'm reading in the Doctor's office I have so many people inquiring and asking for a demo I don't get a chance to read. I am finding the blogs extreamly useful with conversion info for my .lit and .pdf books and can't wait to get time to convert. My hubby, who got it for me, is looking forward to selling my extensive printed library on amazon and clearing out a lot of room in our home. If you read $5 paperbacks you won't find much of a savings but if you read author's who's book generally run over $20 you'll save a bundle, BIG TIME! From a person who spent easily over $1500 in printed matter last year, it's worth both the price and the wait time. One suggested improvement would be to put the 'back' button on top of the 'next' button, I find I'm constantly hitting it accidentally.

Read this reviews before You buy...

"Kindle Rocks!!", I don't think I need to go into the ins and outs of what the Kindle does since it is clearly mapped out for you on the site. I will say that I LOVE THIS STINKING THING!!! My Kindle goes with me everywhere. I am an avid reader and having this device keeps the amount of books I have on my shelves to a minimum (which my husband is happy about). I tend to read more than one book at a time so instead of dragging around two books in my purse I just have the Kindle which is very light weight and takes up about the same amount of space as a paperback.

It has many neat features but I was sold on the built in dictionary. You can look up a word quickly while you are reading. How awesome is that?? There are some sites you can go to and download free books but a lot of times you have to do a lot of digging around to find something you'd actually want to read. (probably why they're free) I recommend it to everyone who likes to read and I find myself talking about it a lot and showing it off to people.

I personally do not have any experience with any other electronic reader but I love my Kindle. Once you get one and start playing around with it you'll fall in love with like many people who own them have.

"I love my Kindle!", I have had my Kindle for over a month now, so I think I have enough experience with it to give a pretty fair review. First of all, I was so excited to see how small and light it was! I read the dimensions, but for some reason thought it would be bigger. I really like the seperate switches for the power and the wireless. It's nice to turn off the wireless when you don't need it (really saves the battery power). The battery seems to have a really long life to it. I've made it through whole books without recharging (if the wireless is off).

I think I am going to upgrade the cover though. I haven't had any serious problems with the cover it came with, but I'm uncomfortable having such an expensive item held in by only two corners (all on the left side). My FIL has a cover that holds in all four and I think I'd like that better. There is no backlight and that's just fine by me. I got the Mighty Bright LED light and it works great.

The buttons. It took a bit of getting used to, but I've gotten very good at not pushing the buttons and losing my place. I do read with the cover so I just hold on to the bit of cover that sticks on on the left hand side. I have a hard time reading without the cover because I end up pushing all the buttons and it gets frustrating. I do like how it saves your place in each book or magazine.

I read mainly novels, so I don't have the problems that others have had with the magazines (graphs and pics being done poorly). I haven't had any problems with the wireless either. I live in Northern Utah and get at least three bars (sometimes only two in my bedroom).

Overall, I've really enjoyed the Kindle. It fits in my purse (I put it in a gallon zip bag because it's currently snowy here) and take it everywhere. I have some children's books on it and has been great at the doctors office to read to the kids. I do wish there was a folder system to sort books though. Would be nice but it's easy enough to work around. I just use the show and sort feature to find what I'm looking for.

"MINOR SUGGESTIONS FOR DESIGN", I love my Kindle, but would like to see a couple minor design changes. I find it hard to keep my place with the large 'next page' and 'back page' buttons. I think they could be smaller in the upper half close to center so you can hold on to the Kindle better. I'd also like to have the on/off switch somewhere on the side or top instead of the back so it doesn't have a tendency to fall out of the cover.

I'd also like the cover to be redesigned to keep the Kindle safer from falling out. Could one be designed that has a hook at the top that would go up when putting it into the cover and then down to hook over the top to keep it in place? Also, add more of a pouch at the bottom and sides that is part faux leather and part clear vinyl so you can press the keyboard when needed, but it is more protected again from falling and breaking.

I want to keep my Kindle safe!

Thanks!

"Kindle", I like reading on the Kindle - the display is very easy on the eyes. An internal light for night time reading would be nice. I don't have Sprint in my area and didn't realize it was needed to download books - thought any wireless connection would work. But fortunately I can download books to my computer and then to the Kindle.

"Obsurd Price", Let me know when the price goes down on both the device and the electronic books. I'd rather read books. They cost less! You can't tell me that the cost electronically makes any sense, when the hard copy is cheaper. Its just not worth it. I'm very interested in getting the device, but the cost is just outlandish.
