"Great, quiet drive", There's not a lot to say on the whole. I've used Western Digital hard drives for YEARS and had pretty reliable drives on the whole. This one has been extremely quiet and I like having the extra space for some video's. It replaces a former setup of dual 80gb WD EIDE drives and I like this setup much better and it really opened up the inside of the case for airflow and reduced heat by getting an extra drive out as well as the last of the EIDE cables.


"Worth The Money.............", This hard drive has been a life saver for all of my novels and photography. I had to change over from a EIDE with adapters yet it was worth all of the time and effort for insuring a safe and reliable source to store all of my valued and vital information.

"So Far So Good", Got this a few weeks ago, and it was simple to install. Its brand new and so far its working. Not really much to say, it came on time also.

"painless install", This was easy to install in my icy dock enclosure I bought to go with this and the usb connection is automatically detected, I used windows to format the hardrive instead of using their software and it works great. I haven't had any problems yet.

"Good Drive, Cable Issues", I was suprised to find that the included SATA cable would not work
with my Dell Dimension E521 computer. Basically, there was this big
plastic thing on the end of the cable that plugged into the drive
that was too big for the enclosure. By the third "supervisor" on the
help line, I finally returned from India to the US and learned what
was going on. Western Digital had decided that the sata connector
spec was not physically robust enough -- apparently some had broken
and so they had (over-)engineered this monstrosity. Naturally, it
was my fault that it would not work with my computer. My options
appeared to be to return the drive or buy a "normal" sata cable. I
chose instead to snip off the offending plastic with some wire cutters.
Now the drive works great -- I only can't find the plastic piece since
it flew across the room and under some furniture in the process.

"Caviar All The Way", I have always used WD Caviar hard drives in all of the computers I build and have never had any fail. This is another top of the line performer. A great SATA drive with lots of space that will keep you happy for a long time. There is no risk in purchasing this drive. They always work flawlessly and last. Great Price too.

"The best price/performance out there!", I have buyed this hd in January, 320 Gb, Sata 2 and being Western Digital have captivated me, it was irresistible. Until now, it is totally silence and I get data transfers about 17 - 18 Mb/s. I have formatted it like 6 or 7 times, and have all my files (games isos, mp3, movies, etc) and still have space for duplicates!
I have installed it in Windows Vista and Ubuntu 8.04 so I have two partitions, and other separately for all my files, so it us a bunch of space!
The only bad thing is that it costed to me around 80$, now it's like a gift! xD

"GREAT HDD.....", This is a fantastic hard drive. It installs easily and is setup with one click of your mouse. I highly reccomend this HDD.
