""Wonderful""
"OMG", This is by far the best product ever. Just attach this little recorder, and start talking into it, or recording your lecture at school. Plug IPOD in car and listen while driving. This is the best product ever! I highly recommend this!!!!!!

"Belkin Tune Talk is Awesome!"
I used this product for an entire weekend and it worked perfectly! it is idiot proof, all you do is plug it to the ipod and its ready to go. No programming or downloading or anything its fully compatible and ready for immediate use with an 80G Ipod you get 363 Hours of digital quality recording time- my experience was amazing- i would suggest this product to all college students, or anyone going to a conference, important meeting, or seminars- Steven Reckner

"Super easy recording"
A friend of mine had one of these and I used it to record some stuff for her and fell in love with it. I just bought one for myself and am really happy with it. It's so easy to use, you just plug it into your ipod and choose record from the menu that automatically comes up. When you are done, choose stop and save or cancel. It's as easy as that! Then when you sync your ipod, the recordings show up in your itunes!

"Sound is okay; skipping is unacceptable"
This unit is primarily used at my weekly music lesson to record a 1 to 1 1/2 minute song played by my instructor. He still uses a cassette recorder and I thought having my "homework" recorded on the iPod 30g Video would be much better.

He's normally very meticulous and plays each and every note that's on the sheet music. However, I noticed after the first week that there were notes missing (which really confuses things when you're trying to play along). I thought, at first, that maybe he had mixed things up a bit just to keep me on my toes. However, it's done this every time he records a song; always happening at different places with a recording.

Since this is the only reason I bought this, I was sorry that I kept it almost two months before reading the less than stellar reviews (thought it was just this particular unit or something); otherwise I would have returned it immediately for a refund. Next time I make this type of purchase I'll read ALL the reviews ... not just the good ones.

"Does the job!"
This product does what it says it can do. My girlfriend has been using it for two weeks+ for a summer class. It has certainly worked well and has definitely aided her studying.

The only drawback, if any, you need to ensure it has a full charge before each use and charge it after. She takes a 1 hour and 20 minute class 4x a week and it will get her a full lecture each time.

Highly recommend!

What our customer's say!

"Great Microphone with auto-gain", This is one of the best add-ons to the iPod that I've used. Worked great with my 30 gig, even with my 2nd gen Nano. Hint: Keep Auto-gain switched ON. Wonderful product - would purchase it again.

"Good product, HORRIBLE tech support", Good product, neat, small, useful. TERRIBLE HORRIBLE tech support. Long waits while techie looks up the simplest of questions. They're totally unprepared for the job. And I was given simply incorrect information which I had to wade through with more calls even to find out it was incorrect. If you're not a natural techie, expect a horrible experience with their tech support.

"Great.", This product works great for my purpose of recording loud rehearsals with my rock band for personal review and file sharing.

"This little thing is pretty cool", I needed a way to record acoustic jam sessions, and this thing fit the bill. Very compact and simple to use. Does drain the battery as others have said, but I bought a 120V/USB adapter to charge my Ipod and that lets me record as long as I want, if I have access to an outlet. HD noise can be heard in quiet recordings, but bluegrass/old timey/folkie type jams a plenty loud enough to drown out the HD noise so you can't hear it. Sound quality is good enough for me to listen to and enjoy my recordings in the car during my commute. I'd like a digital "tune sucker" such as an Edirol, but I'd have to spend lots of dough. In the meantime I'll keep using this little gizmo.

"Exactly what I needed", I'm an opera singer and needed something to record voice lessons, coaching, and in a pinch... a demo. This fit the bill perfectly. The problem with another iPod recorder we had tried was that it didn't have the option to charge while recording... an absolute necessity given the demands recording has on the battery... but this unit does. My other criteria was that it be able to utilize my $100 mic that I had previously used with my Sony MiniDisc recorder... which this does perfectly. While nobody would mistake this for a high-end recording or demo-cd solution, it's perfect for what I need on a day-to-day basis. When I need the next level... I go to the studio. :)

"Sounded great for 3 recordings, then died.", When I got this unit, I took it out of the box and tried to plug it into my Ipod. And tried. And tried. The plug wouldn't go in. I had to move the plug around a bit and apply more pressure than any other ipod docking plug I have ever used. Finally, it plugged in. Unlike what it says in the manual, the record function did not automatically start. What did happen was a "voice memo" line appeared under extras, I believe it was. When I selected that, it had an option to set the record quality to high or low, and a start recording option. I started the record, let it run for 20 seconds, and stopped it. The recording I had just made appeared right under the quality setting option and the start record option. I highlighted it, pushed the center button, and play and delete options appeared. Playing it, I was pleased with the quality.

After coming back to the device later, I tried plugging it back in, had the same problem with the stubborn plug. It recorded fine again. I made another recording with the auto gain on to see the difference. It definitely amplifies nicely, but adds hiss.

The next recording I tried came out as a hash of hissing, static and crackling. If you are old enough, you have heard an old AM radio in a thunderstorm. That crackling and popping was very close to what I got out of this microphone after that.

The plug obviously has something wrong with it judging from the way it didn't want to work smoothly. Whether or not that was the cause of the hideous noise on all subsequent recordings I can't say. I unplugged and replugged it numerous times, and always got that hash of static and crackling.

To say I'm disappointed in this device is an uderstatement. I hate shoddily constructed defective equipment. The "stand" that it comes with is simply a folded piece of plastic. The "quick memo" button on the side of the microphone doesn't work with the ipod classic. I could have overlooked either of these things if it has survived more than three recordings and the plug had worked even decently.

Buyer beware.

"Color me Impressed!", I didn't really expect much from this tiny little mic, but I was underestimating the sound quality. I used it to record lectures @ school and found it to be quite helpful and it even picked up background music pretty well...so I say go for it. A bit pricey but worth having it available.

"No complaints", It delivered exactly what I was looking for. High quality recording while charging the iPod.

"Extremely helpful gadget!", I bought this product to use with my 3rd gen iPod nano. Before buying it, I researched a lot of digital recorders. I listened to side-by-side comparisons, looked at prices and read more reviews than I'm comfortable admitting.

I am a professional musician, and I was looking for an extremely lightweight, super-cheap alternative to DigiDesign and Tascam products. I did not need to duplicate the professional recording equipment I already have. I merely wanted something I could toss in my gig bag and bring to a live show or rehearsal to record a few songs and then email them as mp3s to my band or to other musicians I collaborate with. I also wanted to be able to record random songs whenever I heard them (or thought them up).

In all these aspects, this little number performs beautifully. I would never use it for CD-quality recording. I wouldn't use it for two hours' worth of music (because it does tend to eat up battery life). But it's a hell of a lot cheaper than buying a dedicated digital recorder (especially if you've already got that kind of equipment at home). And it's really, really tiny, so you can carry it with you anywhere.

There's no speaker, so you have to listen to playback using your earbuds, but so what? The stand is a piece of garbage, but I just lay my nano on a table and it works fine. And again, it eats battery life, so you won't get more than an hour's worth of music, if that. But for my needs, it's perfect.

Hope this helps.

"Power hog", I bought this recorder module for the purpose of recording classes at a music symposium I attended this month. There were 5 daily classes from 9:00 - 5:30. I was surprised on the first day to see the iPod shut down halfway through the first class with a drained battery. I assumed that I hadn't charged the iPod fully, plugged it in during dinner and prepared for the next day. Sure enough, after less than 2 hours my battery was dead again. I went out during dinner and purchased an Olympus solid-state recorder which lasted the final 3 days on a single AAA battery, including recording all the evening sessions typically lasting into the wee hours of the morning.

If you have short things to record, this is a nice option, but it's hard to justify when my Olympus recorder weighs LESS and lasts FAR longer with no hard drive noise. My only complaint about the Olympus is that it records in WMA format which needs to be converted to play on iTunes.
