"Good IPOD speakers but will not work with latest IPOD model", This is very good speaker for IPOD, probably one of the best out there. It has very nice sound which will easily fill the small and medium size room. It lacks the bass which is understandable for speaker of this size. One thing I don't like is no aux input, come on Bose, for $299 when it first came out, I would expect one. The price is a little too high but hey, it's Bose, and it is expected to be overprice. Overall a good IPOD speaker if you can afford the high price tag.

It will not charge the latest IPOD released in 2008, i.e. 4th gen Nano, 2nd gen Touch, not sure about the 120 Gb classic. I blame this on Apple, not Bose, for changing the pin used for charging IPOD in their latest models. So, beware if you have these new IPOD.

"to much money for what u get", I guess u pay about $150 for the name.
Otherwise the sound is not that great - you can get a better system
with CD and radio for half the prize with better sound.

"Great ipod speaker !!!", Bought this speaker abour a month ago, use it almost everynight for about 2-3 hours, the sound is absolutely fantastic,sound clarity comparable to a much bigger speaker,highly recomend to anybody. only if you have the budget though ??

"disappointed", Bose Dock---- Extremely disappointed with item and web information. Nowhere on the website did it show any technical requirements for product, therefore, the dock was not compatible with my ipod, upon receipt. I called "One Call" after finding out the problem thru Bose that I needed the series II model, and altho One Call agreed to waive the restocking fee, I had to pay postage to return item, in the amount of $18.50. Bose SoundDock digital music system for iPod (Black) I have sent Amazon, One Call and Bose my letter of request to be reimbursed for postage and have yet heard anything. Also advised my American Express of this problem.

"it is a bose", it is a bose, no mistake, but was not informed when i bought it, thought it was a portable one and though it said it would play a shuffle... i was wrong on both accounts, mabey i just didn't do all my home work on this...also an older version go the new bose soundock2 now out...no frills speaker, but still a bose, good sound

"Not just for Ipod brand MP3 players", Fantastic sound, especially the bass. Blew away all the others that I listened to in the store by far. Price is high, so shop around. You also need to consider what you're going to put it in if you plan to schlep it around. I've tried several zip-up canvas bags I had around the house, but they don;t cut it. Guess I'm going to have to spring for the Bose carrying case.
I don't have an IPOD, so I use it with my other-brand MP3 player. Just needed a $3 cord from Ace hardware. Used the same cord to use as external speaker for my laptop.No problem.
Turned my laptop into the biggest MP3 player ever. No worries about filling up my portable MP3.

"Great Acoustic!", I found the acoutics similiar to a stereo of much larger size, and quality. The SoundDock is very portable, and easy to hook up to an ipod. In addition to ipod use, a connector cable can be used to listen to any 1/4 inch jack input device such as a portable CD player or tape recorder. I can highly recommend this device to the music fans.

"Dropped Dead", After 10 months of fabulous sound, ours just stopped working one day. Very disappointing. We got it as a gift, so have no idea where to return it or how to get it fixed.

... an update, I contacted Bose and am sending it back, but even though it is under warranty and less than a year old, they're charging me $99 to fix it and $15 to send me a box to ship it back in! I'm not impressed.
.. it did have great sound though, while it worked.

"Bose SoundDock for iPod", Does what it says--makes your iPod part of a speaker-based sound system. Really cool.

"pricey,but ultimatly worth it.", volumes could be written about how overhyped and overpriced bose products are , but the 2 items i have purchased, the ipod in ear head phones, and this dock system have been far better than i hoped, the sound field is large and spacious, and the bass is deep and authentic, in particular acoustic jazz really sparkles on this device. and it can handle the new metallica album "death magnetic as well, but man is that album recorded too loud or what. with no equalization to be found on the device or on my ipod, it never seems to need it, everything is perfect, on some music that had a poorly miked bass such as wayne shorter's "speak no evil" album i just set the ipod to extra bass and it does provide just enough low end to satisfy. granted this will not replace your mega bucks surround system, but for the bedroom , the bathroom and an apartment where you cant raise the roof anyway this is worth the money. ive been listening to this 2 or 3 hours a day for 2 weeks and i have said to myself, "i think i like the sound on this better than my 2000 dollar system " it really is amazing how such full sound comes out of such a small set of speakers. the remote is handy, but your not going to be scrolling on it, only play, pause and next track, but if you've set up lenghthy playlist your set for hours any way , one thing i did was set it a the other end o a room at least 20 feet away at about ear level and turn out the lights, you will be amazed how the sound fills up the room. i wish i could have paid 75 dollars less for it, but i am very pleased with the purchase, also those earbuds are by far the best 100 dollar ipod headphones i have ever heard,[more than enough bass] im sure sennheiser probably makes better, but probably 200 dollars more.
