"Another great GTA game short but sweet"
A short but sweet game overall Liberty City stories is another decent GTA installment. It's clear by the target of the PSP that was a short but fun ride into another GTA locations. I enjoyed this game a lot and wasn't expecting much reading a couple of reviews.

Story:

Toni Cipriani is a gangster in Liberty City who does odd jobs for the mafia. Often taken for granted Toni allies himself with a mob boss Don, Salvatore Leone, who sees the potential Toni in doing big things. Cipriani must now cut ties with his current boss and risk his life in various mob oriented missions.

Well that's my take on it. Like other GTA games we see tales of violence, police corruption, dirty politics and capitalism at work. If there were another franchise it get rather repetitive but Rockstar does a great job of using all these themes and mingling them into an interesting movie.

I liked Toni for the most part and the voice acting by Daniel Mastrogiorgio and Frank Vincent were great. Characters like the crazed drugged Donald Love were quite a riot along with Salvatore's crazed wife Maria.

Gameplay:

Well the gameplay is the same as the other GTA but instead of doing stuff like eating and working like in San Andrea unnecessary duties like these are cut which for me is a much better game. As mentioned the locations are fine but short we got Portland Island, and Stanton Island as the main areas. The missions though are varied and will never have you bored.

Graphics:

Graphics are about the same as other GTA game as Rockstar reuses the same models for all their games (at least that's what I think). Still though the cutscenes are always a joy to see.

Sound:

Well as mentioned same like the other GTA. We got the radio soundtrack, the pedestrians voices and voices for other objects. The only difference is that the dialogue is different.

Overall: Buy or Rent

Well the game will take veteran gamers only a week or so to pass other gamers it might take more. It's another decent installment that together with Vice City Stories and other GTA will hold gamers over till GTA IV comes out. Allegedly Liberty City is the focal point for GTA IV so it will be fun to see how Rockstar will remake this city.

"Read This"
When I ordered from here they took my money and did not send me anything I had to go to Amazon to get my money back. They did not even respond to the E-Mails I sent them trying to find out where my stuff was at. I would advise that unless you like being ripped off that nobody order anything from this place.

"pretty good game"
this grand theft auto is very fun like all the others i have played.i have beaten this game and i have 100% game completion on on it.if your a grand theft auto fanatic i recomend you get this.the graphics look identical to san andreas witch i have and beaten 100%.you get to the same thing as you would get to do in any grand theft auto except there is different stunts,missions,and people.i am a grasnd theft auto fan and have loved these type of games if you love grand theft auto games get this you won,t regret it.

"PSP Version to PS2 platform, beware..."
Two star game, five star fun? How does that work? Now, to begin, the ONLY reason I'm giving this game two stars is because it is warning to people who have NO clue (like I didn't) what this game is. I was at the store looking to buy San Andreas, but they didn't have it, so I opted for this one title, now, don't get me wrong, this is still GTA material, but, this (and Vice City Stories) is a remake of the PSP version into the PS2 version, which, to me, it doesn't quite work. The fun is still there but the graphics aren't as good and the movement aren't as crip, which, after playing Vice City I had raised the bar high for GTA. Like I said, this game isn't bad IF you know what you're buying, but if you don't have a clue, I'd suggest you rent it first to see what you're getting.

"A step back, but lots of GTA goodness"
The Amazon reviews are fair overall. It has slightly better gameplay than its parent GTA III but far from the gargantuan mind-bending achievement of San Andreas. One of the weaker story lines, and the music selection isn't very good. However, the DJ dialog and commercials are the best of all GTA games! Someone transcribed a bunch on wikiquote.org; Leni, the transsexual DJ on Flashback FM, is brilliant.

What our customer's say!

"better than vice city stories", Okay this is a much better GTA game than Vice Stories. In this game your more of the iTALIAN gangsta. Hopefully this game is better to others too.

"Its like an update from gta3", This game was like the same as part3, but just some new stuff, i gottan board of this game. GTA is has the same stuff just beating up people, shotting, stealing cars, and the police chaseing after you thats real old and boring, so this game was just the same nonsense.

"Great Game", This a great game and a must have for fans of the gta series. taking a trip back to liberty city with updated gameplay is allot of fun. This is definitely a good game to hold you over until GTA4 if you have not played it yet. Well worth $20.

"this is a great rememberable game!", i love this game! (not as much as san andreas, of course) but i would play it again.

"Responsible game gives player the choice of splattering civilians", Rockstar figured out an excellent way to hold over GTA fans until the next big re-imagining of the now-classic series. They've gone back and souped up the older games and offered a new experience of old favorites.

GTA: LCS re-does GTA III by returning to the crime-ridden toilet of Liberty City in 1998. This time you're Tony Cipriani (sadly not voiced by Michael Madsen), working for Don Salvatore Leone (yes, Frank Vincent) and going through the usual mayhem, insanity, and blood-drenched violence on the streets.

This is a straight port of the PS2 game from 2005, and it comes off very well. If this makes sense, the game does seem more 'squished' into the frame than earlier proper titles (III and Vice City), but presumably this is because they lifted it off a tiny screen and fitted it to the PS2. The graphics are better--smoother, tighter, brighter, and less subject to those whacky effects of things disappearing and fading when you've been playing the game 72 straight hours.

The missions are definitely easier, perhaps on purpose. This is a game of pure fun---all the familiar Liberty City locales and characters and antics, just enhanced. Motorcycles appear (even with a story on why they weren't around in III), the guns are better, the cops are still insane, there are the usual gangs to whack, more cars, and more radio. This gets an impressive radio soundtrack, even keeping in theme with previous and future games. This is a very intricately scripted game series with a ton of continuity points. Players may not appreciate these things as they ram police barricades, cripple bystanders, run down firemen with blood-slicked tires, bomb intersections, blow up helicoptors, chop off heads, torch people alive, burst heads with sniper shots, and beat people to death in front of others.

Excellent game, an absolute-no-brainer for GTA fans, some may even prefer this over earlier titles. All the greatness of III, and then some. Followed by Vice City Stories, a similar concept and treatment.

Read this reviews before You buy...

"GTA 3 On Steroids", Its a great game for GTA fans. Its fun to play in an old city, like the one in GTA3, except with new missions, cars, motorcycles, weapons, secrets, and missions. The map has only minor changes, and its very cool. The only issue is i have to turn the brightness up all the way when i play this game, its pretty dark.

"Awesome game, but many have done it all before", The GTA series suffers the same misfortune as the Tony Hawk games, in that its sequals are too similar. In other words, once you have played one, you have played them all.

However, GTA is still among the top video games of all time. It created a video game hype not seen since Mortal Kombats hayday, and many tried to copy GTA's success. The success was a double edge sword. GTA had to respond to the immitators with improved sequals, but they also lost many fans with too many sequals.

If your not too jaded by the sequals and you liked the original GTA 3, then buy Libery City stories. It contains many of the improved features, such as changing clothes, jumping out of moving cars, etc. The story mode is very good. The graphics are also very good. Many have complained that the graphics are bad, but they actually look slighty better then the original GTA 3. Another complaint is that the game is too easy, which isnt true. The game has a very moderate level of difficulty (not too frustrating and not too easy). The swearing is toned down from SA and Vice city, but you do hear the occasional F-bomb.

graphics=4 (GTA standards)
control=5
fun=4.5
replayability=4.5

Finally, when I purchased the game, the sales associate told me that this game would not have the free roaming sandbox capability, that it would be mission only. That is not true. This is a full game just like the previous GTAs'.

"Grand Theft Auto PS2 game", I got this game for my son, who loves it and the other Grand Theft Auto games. The music and graphics are great.

"As soon as the fun starts its over", This is like making a Ring 2 just because the last one is a hit doesn't mean make more this is pretty much driving a dead horse in the ground

"Good, Not Great", If you really loved the original Vice City and played the San Andreas game, then you are familiar enough with how the game goes...follow the storyline, do some side missions, find the packages and the jumps, and so on and so on.

This is very easy compared to VC and SA. It took me less than one day to complete all the missions. The graphics were far better than VC and on par with SA. The choices of radio stations were great. The cars performed pretty well for what one should expect in the car you were driving.

If one were to break into any of the GTA games, I would say start with this one as it is so easy.

If I had to change something in it, I would have the characters with the ability to swim as in SA and the chance to buy his own clothing.

I didn't hate it, but it didn't make me go wow either.
