"Nice set!", I am just a casual Lego buyer (usually just buy a funny character from time to time, not full sets) but this one was just too cool to pass! Assembling the set was really fun, took me and my girlfriend about 2 hours (alongside the pictures that we took from the whole process, which is quite fun to do as well). The instructions are very detailed (as always), just one of the pieces was a bit confusing, it looked quite different from the picture, but we figured it out by elimination. We were also a bit confusing with the fact that there were 10 little pieces or so left at the end of the assembly, at first we thought that maybe we skipped something, but looking at the parts list at the end of the manual we checked it was all in place, these pieces might be spare parts or something.

This was so fun that now I am dreaming about a Millenium Falcon set!

"Cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!", It is so Cool!

The wings open, the mimy-figs are cool, it has a place for lukes lightsaber and you can put red 3 or red 5 in!

"OK", My son helped our 8 yr old grandson put together in an evening. For the price, I was frankly, disapointed. I paid 91.00 and found it later on the legos site for 49.99. It's more of a 50.00 set than almost 100.00. Pieces seemed to fit well and the parts that were movable moved well. All the pieces were there. Pieces hold together well. I'd rate the toy a four star, the price no stars.

"More sturdy than expected, but get ready for the little parts!", As far as Lego Star Wars vehicles go, this set is very sturdy and a lot of fun for my child to play with. We got it Christmas morning. With so many tiny pieces, it took about three hours to build, but all the parts were there, and the unit didn't fall apart much during construction. The guns do have a tendency to pop off, but they go back on easy.
The only real gripe I have is the characters that come with the fighter are not all in one bag. R2-D2, for example, had only three parts, but it was in three separate bags. Chewy was the same way. Hans Solo's body was in one bag, and his hair in another. This is more an irritation than anything else. My child wanted to play with the characters, while I built the fighter. So, it took some looking through all 430+ pieces to find everyone.
Overall, this is a great toy, and not just worthy of a model to sit on a shelf and look at.

"Grate for a Star Wars and Lego fan", This is exactly what you would expect from Lego! A grate toy that resembles perfectly the Star Wars battleship. It also open the wings! BTW, the lego version of R2 is pretty cool

"But we already have two X-wings! Did we need a third?", This is another Lego Star Wars model that I'm on the fence about. I bought the previous version which came with a unique Dagobah Luke figure, a Yoda, and Yoda's house. It had a bunch more pieces than this (although the X-Wing itself was the same) and a Luke you couldn't get elsewhere.

Now, less than two years later, that model has been replaced with this one. And they've baited you with an exclusive Wedge Antilles figure. However, if you think about it, the Wedge figure is basically all parts you can get from Luke, with a new helmet. They've thrown in a couple red and white panels so you can change the markings on the X-Wing to represent either Luke or Wedge's own ships. But I refuse to shell out more money for a new helmet, and a bunch of other figures that I got with my Millenium Falcon.

For those that don't already have an X-wing, it is a really good model. The wings open and close with some simple technic pieces and elastic bands, and it's very effective. It has a storage compartment for Luke's lightsaber, raising landing gear, and opening canopy. It comes with an R2 who sits in the back. It's a fun build and it's sturdy once it's together.

However...come on, Lego! The last model came with all those extra pieces for Yoda's house, a better Luke figure, tons of those little vines, and a Yoda. This one has a lot fewer pieces, which means you can't do as much with it as far as making alternate models. Instead you get those extra mini-figs...and yes, the Wedge helmet.

I won't be picking this up just for the new helmet. If you don't have an X-Wing yet, then go for it...but beware. Lego seems to be showing a habit of reissuing new versions of these models at breakneck pace. My money says that they'll put out another new and improved version by the end of 2008. I'd bet on it.

EDIT - Yup, another reissue is coming, the X-Wing bundled with a Lego Luke maquette, fall 2007.

"Lock S-foils in attack position!", This is the best set that LEGO ever made!!!
This X-wing is pretty big, plus you get Luke, Wedge, R2-D2, Han, Chewbacca, and Leia! A great deal! And this thing is very durable!
The landing gear makes it stand by itself! And Luke also comes with
a blue lightsaber!! A great set to add to any LEGO/Star Wars collection!!!!!!!!!!

"This thing shoots TIE Fighters like sitting ducks!!", This thing is the best!! Lots of minifigs!!! And boy, this thing is
HUGE!! This thing might take a while to build but WHO CARES!?! IT'S WORTH THE TIME!!! Very sturdy! If you put the pieces on kinda hard,
it's very, very hard for it to break apart!! You can pick it up!! It won't break!! And it looks so cool on your desk!!
A must have for both Star Wars lovers and LEGO Lovers!!!

"MAN!!! THIS SET IS SMOKIN'!!", This set is worth every penny!! If you are someone who likes collecting the characters, BUY THIS!!! I don't recommend this set for kids under 8 years old because this set takes around 38 minutes
to make and medium difficulty to build. Other than that...THIS SET IS OFF DA HOOK BABY!!!!
