"bad battery", This ipod is a totally reliable product. The only problem is the battery. After about a year and a half use, it lasts for about 3 hrs. before needing a recharge. Then pay up for an expensive new one.

"ipod", i love my Ipod it works amazing. buying refurbished is the way to go the front looks brand new and there is a few scratches on the back, but works great.

"Hard to get data from Ipod to a PC", I got this gen 5 after hearing all sorts of bad things about gen 6 - I have not experienced any problems beyond this will freeze while docking, requiring rebooting.

The big problem I have is I can not pull data off of this unit. I have a desktop with my 20,000+ songs and a laptop I use for class. I can put songs onto the Ipod player no problems but when I plug it into my laptop with itunes I can not just dump the songs into my laptop library - I have to load them with some other network transfer, which is easier to just use my 4 gig usb drive.

I love this unit and would buy it again. It lost a star for not being able to upload. (at least not easily, as easy as downloading to it)

"Can't beat the price- but expect some cosmetic scratches", I ordered this iPod and overall am extremely happy with this purchase. It arrived quickly and there were no surprises with shipping/price etc. The only "problem" I have is that there are significant scratches on the silver back portion of the device. It definitely was well loved by the previous owner. I'm purchasing a cover for it (both for protection and to cover up the ugly scratches) which is going to run about $20. If you're willing to accept the surface blemishes in exchange for a great iPod with lots of storage room for your music at an unbeatable price- then I definitely recommend going this route. Just be prepared to shell out a couple additional bucks for a cover. If you're expecting something to arrive looking like new- this is not for you.

"Ipod good, technical support a slight chaleenge", The product arrived fast and in excellent condition. There was not a CD but rather an Apple website to download newest itunes version. It would not load on Windows 2000 but required XP and Apple referred us to tech support where we purchased item. Eventually I used another computer with XP.

"Apple IPod Video Player(Black 5.5 Generation)", This IPod is great! Very customer friendly. Easy to sync, easy to load, easy to use.
The sound quality is AMAZING, however, I do not personally care for the earbuds that come with it. They are too big and do not stay secure in my ears, so I will be purchasing some other kind in the near future.

I purchased a refurbished model of this IPod and found the description to be very honest and detailed.
The only thing that wasn't mentioned was that there were quite a few tiny scratches(from previous usage) on the back of the casing. Otherwise it was in perfect conditon and packaged nicely.

"It's a library that I can carry in my hand", I finally fell for the siren call of owning an Apple iPod. I already own a Toshiba Gigabeat for music, but it is getting outdated and I wanted something different to download all of my audiobooks so when I travel I wouldn't be carrying pounds of printed material or loads of disks. I probably went overboard on storage space with my 80gb iPod Classic, but I have found I can download from the iTunes store, the different vendors like Audible and Alibris as well as copy from the audio cds I own. It's like walking around with a library that fits in the palm of my hand. The downsides to the iPod are the earbuds that came with it (I just substituted the Phillips earbuds I use with the Gigabeat) and I would like more control on how things are downloaded. My audiobook cds all want to be saved into Music and not the audiobooks section of the iPod. I use playlists extensively in order not to have to scroll down all the titles when I am looking for the book I want. And yes, now that I have used the iPod for a while, I am also adding music to it. With a USB adaptor for charging the iPod this player goes anywhere and gives great sound.

"This is the good one!", While the newest 6G iPod Classic offers some new features and a slim profile, this older 5.5G iPod is the best one currently available (12/24/07).

With a Wolfson DAC, a component not featured in new "classic" iPods, this 80GB iPod features the sound quality that made iPod a viable music listening platform. It also has a bright screen, good battery life, and the ability to play videos, photos, songs, games and more! It plays entire albums flawlessly with no gaps between tracks, a problem that plagued older iPods for years.

Finding a good deal on this unit is the best possible 80GB iPod purchase you can make until Apple hopefully fixes the 6G iPod sound problems. Let's keep our fingers crossed for the upcoming 7th generation.

"80GB iPod is worth your money", I purchased mine over a year ago and have been quite happy with it. It has never stopped working or anything just stores my music and videos perfectly. Maybe people should invest in a good cover for theirs though. I have a nice hard see through plastic one that has protected my ipod since i got it.
