"Good but bulky.", Its a good product and does what it says, but aside from the use of it the product is slightly bulky. I have seen other similiar products at more then half the size. All in all a good item for what its meant for, but only if you dont mind the size.

"Not bad, but no powerhouse", This is a decent unit for a laptop or basic AC power needs. My first unit would shut down, or the fan would refuse to turn on. I returned it for a new one, and it's working fine. I would probably get a larger one (400 watt would be ideal) if I could do it again, but for $20 - it was a great deal.

"Does its job.", I received the inverter very quickly and it has worked just like it's supposed to. What more could I ask for?

"It works", Good for what it is, a 'modified sinewave' inverter (actually it's a modified squarewave inverter). That's typical of inexpensive inverters. It's not a pure sinewave inverter so it may cause interference with TVs or similar devices. I use it to keep my laptop's battery charged. That's an ideal application for it because the laptop's battery filters the power.

It has a 12v lighter socket which is good if you use the only one you have to plug this inverter into your car. You may need the second socket to keep your cellphone battery charged.

Most 12v sockets in cars are fused at 15 amps. That's 180 watts, so 200 watts of inverter output (plus power consumed by the inverter) will exceed the power available from your socket. I had my 12v socket rewired to 20 amps for another device, so I have 240 watts available from my 12v socket. In addition, my original 12v socket power went thru the ignition switch (wouldn't work with the key off). My rewiring also by-passed the ignition switch so it works when the key is off.

"Adequate, not the best performance.", For the price paid, it does its job. But the Xantrex units are superior.
Here's why:
1. It's made of plastic, therefore the lack of aluminum heatsinking means the BD must run a fan constantly when on. It adds noise.

2. When used to power a laptop adapter, the laptop picks up a buzzing noise from the BD which can be heard over the laptop's audio output.

3. Single outlet, others have 2.

The one cool thing is it has a cig. plug pass through, which could be handy in certain situations.

Read this reviews before You buy...

"Didn't last", We used it with a laptop in the car and a portable battery pack as well and it worked fine for about 3 times and then quit.

The one thing I hate about all these inverters is that continuous alarm that sounds when it is draining your battery. Why not use an intermittent beep that occasionally tells you that you are running down the battery. Sometimes - especially with an auxiliary battery you don't care if you are running the battery down - that is the expectation of using an auxiliary battery but you can't work with that horrible alarm sounding. At least this one doesn't immediately shriek and shut off like the one we used to use as soon as you turned off the engine.

"Convenient Power Inverter", I have used this inverter several times already, and it has worked very well and runs very quietly. I will be using this on many trips in the future. It should be sufficient for things like a laptop, small refrigerator, portable DVD player, etc. A few notes though:

1. Even though it says that it is a 200 Watt power inverter, according to its manual you will need to connect it directly to the vehicle battery to get anything over 80 Watts out of it (although I believe this is a function of the vehicle wiring and should be true of any power inverter).

2. The cable going to the cigarette lighter seems to be on the short side, but it was still long enough for me to put the inverter on the floor.

3. It produces a modified sine wave, not a true sine wave, so it may not be ideal for very sensitive electronic equipment.

"Convenient", Easy to use and convenient! I use this to power my laptop when on the road, using this inverter, it's awesome!

"Poor Performance", I purchased this inverter so my son can run his laptop (90W) in the car. This unit intermittently beeps even though the voltage in my car is running at 12V. My son gives the unit a rap and it stops beeping. I can not recommend anyone purchase this unit. It is obviously poorly designed.

"Handy production", I used it to power my laptop when we are on trips. No problems. Easy to use.
