"Just one word... DON'T", DON'T waste your money. DON'T waste your time.

This product fails at every turn. The box states that it will convert "any" DVD. False! Any DVD with copy protection will not work with this product. Almost every DVD movie you purchase today will have some sort of copy protection.

Version 1.0 of this product worked on non-copy-protected DVDs as long as you do not choose any custom settings. Attempting to use a custom setting will cause the program to fail to finish the conversion process.

Version 1.2 of this program will not work at all. After perfoming the automatic update this program will not work on any DVD.

Save your money and time by purchasing another product.

"Misleading!", Takes 50% of CPU as long as I let it (hours) with absolutely no results. Do not buy this -

"Misleading claims", False advertising on their part. Cannot convert copyrighted movies into ipod movies. Avoid.

"DVD2Pod works FINE, I use it all the time.", I downloaded this app months ago and have been using it without problem to convert DVD movies to my iPod 30GB. I guess they must have just recently changed the software to block DVD movies and taken all their beta versions offline. I use a Mac, but if anyone wants the file, I'll gladly email it to you. Out of all the DVDs I have ripped, I've had maybe 3 that I can remember not work.
The other 90% always have. The Pixar movie "Cars" ripped without any audio, but I have all my favorite movies from my DVD collection on my Video iPod. If you are running MacOSX, feel free top email me, and I'll send it as a file attachment. stuckinraleighnc@hotmail.com

"Blatantly misleading waste of time and money", I bought this with a gift card, figuring it was worth a try. Sadly, opened software is not returnable.

As mentioned in other reviews, this software clearly states, "Select any movie, DVD or video file, and DVD2Pod does the rest."

The only disclaimer on the outside of the box states the software is for lawful use only, and warns of the possible civil and criminal repercussions of illegal use. It says nothing of the inability of the software to convert legally owned DVDs for viewing on your own iPod.

Biggest waste of $30 I've had in a while.

Read this reviews before You buy...

"Only does mono output", First of all - for all the complainers that this product won't violate the law for them: you are are stupid. A 3 second search of the Internet will turn up the software to crack their DVDs. Commercial software companys can't just violate digital rights management without going to jail.

That said. The software is easy to use and if you can't handle any aspect of your personal computer and don't care about the output audio quality in the least, than this is software for you.

This tool is supposed to create content for your iPod, so it is unforgivable that it is limited to mono output at 24kHz. If you didn't care about audio, you wouldn't have an iPod.

The best part is that if you go to the manufacturer's website, they don't even acknowledge that they make this software, so you can't create a "Question" for the tech support folks. But if you decide to make a "Question" anyway based on a similar product - the website won't allow you to submit your question because you haven't filled out a mandatory field - which the web form is missing! Wonderful.

After researching this failed company, it is obvious the management team has been over their heads for years and this is the corporate presence you get when you mix offshore Asian and French developers with girl executives.

I promptly returned my software to Fry's for a refund.

"Don't waste your money on this", My complete is the same as everyone else, this product out rightly LIES on the packing, claiming that you can rip your DVD movies to your ipod. Sure, if it's none copy written you can, but that excludes, well.... all of my DVDs.

"Only partially functional", Wish I could get my money back! I'm not sure if it's the Windows version that is of such poor quality, or if the Mac version is also bad, but this thing only seems to function if you have a 'standard' DVD movie, and select all of the default options.

I allowed it to update itself 'to the newest version' and afterward it was even less functional!

"Save Your Money - This product deserves NO stars", The packaging says "Select any movie, DVD or video file, and DVD2Pod does the rest". Unfortunately it only works with non-copy protected discs. All the DVDs in my library are commercial, and therefore copy protected. There are no disclaimers on the OUTSIDE of the box. This is just dishonest. My first hint of a problem was with the terms and conditions that must be accepted as the software is loading. It didn't work with any of my movies. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND BUY SOMETHING ELSE!!

"Wouldn't work at all", I have a 60 GB video iPod and avi movies I have taken. This product wouldn't work at all. The film is obviously not proprietary or copyrighted and it still wouldn't do what it promised.
