"Died in seven months"
This keyboard worked flawlessly with my G3 IMac for seven months and then, abruptly, this morning, it died on me. I just ordered another one--can't type on the Mac keyboard's Chiclet keys--but I'm not happy to have to shell out another $65 only seven months after the first buy. Thus the ambivalent rating. The mouse continues to work beautifully.

"Excellent product"
The Logitech Cordless Desktop S530 Laser for Mac works flawlessly! With the upload from the vendors website, both the mouse and keyboard synced right up with my Power Book, great price and functionality, sorry to say it beats Apples' design.

"Logitech for Mac Intel"
I wanted a new keyboard and mouse for my work station. What to get? We use Macbook Pro laptops connected to a second monitor, and the wires were starting to get all tangled in the back... so something wireless. I started looking around, trying to see something that would mesh well with the Apple interface, and not be too difficult.

Then I saw this keyboard and mouse set. It matched the look of the Macbook Pro, and a good percent of the reviews seemed to be overall positive, and the negative reviews seemed to be largely by computer illiterate people.

So with a hesitant hand I ordered it, and crossed my fingers, hoping for the best. Today it arrived in the mail! It took less than 2 minutes to download the Logitech upgrade from their website to make it tick, restart my computer and plug everything in and it just worked.

The keyboard is comfortable, lies flat on the desk. The mouse is also exceptionally comfortable. It will take me a few days to get used to using a new keyboard and mouse but I love it so far straight out of the box. All the buttons on the keyboard seem to integrate well (volume, iTunes, etc.), I am very pleased with this product.

"awesome"
I love it! No problems at all I love my MAC, my keyboard and mouse...

"Needs overhaul"
I purchased the Logitech S530 for MAC even after reading a few negative reviews. I wanted to give Logitech the benefit of the doubt. I did what several reviewers suggested and downloaded the software from Logitech;s website rather than using the CD. Almost immediately, some keys became "dead" using Microsoft Word 2004 for MAC. The keyboard worked ok while not in Word. Also the absence of an indicator for the caps key is disconcerting. I've returned to the trusty Apple keyboard!

What our customer's say!

"good keyboard for the money", It is a nice set with the mouse and keyboard. I use it everyday I only wish the batteries lasted a little longer in them.

"Plug & Play Works!!!", Firstly the keyboard just looks straight up sexy. Very clean design! The keys feel very padded and are fairly quiet. Best of all, plug & play actually pulled through! My computer was off, plugged in the USB dongle, and booted up. The mouse and keyboard worked right away. Woohoo!

"Great Mouse! Keyboard Needs Work.",

The wireless keyboard and mouse that came with my Mac Pro desktop were fun to look at but useless in any practical sense. I invested in the Logitech S 530 package. The mouse is fabulous, but the keyboard with all its sophisticated bells and whistles has a couple of fundamental flaws that Logitech needs to address.

1. Make the keyboard (and mouse) directly connectible to the Mac's built-in Bluetooth and eliminate the superfluous Logitech USB dongle. (My Logitech V470 Bluetooth Cordless Mouse works just fine this way with my Mac Book---no dongle.)

2. Add some sort of Caps Lock indicator (light in the key would work just fine).

3. Eliminate whatever it is that "talks" to the Mac while it's in Sleep mode and wakes it up. With the keyboard powered up, my Mac will not Sleep for more than about 5 seconds before waking up again. Talk about insomnia!

I own and operate a number of pieces of Logitech gear. The S 530 Cordless Desktop for Mac is the only one ever to disappoint.

"Excellent product, but with two flaws", I am delighted with the mouse, and pleased with the keyboard except for two things. (1) There is no way to look at the keyboard and determine whether the Caps Lock is engaged. I assume that this is to conserve battery power. (2) The keybooard is extraordinarily sensitive to dust and hair, and must be vacuumed a couple of times each week. I have two house cats who love to roost in my lap, and their hair inevitably finds its way onto the keyboard. The original Macintosh keyboard was nowhere nearly this sensitive.

"mouse scroller too slow", i thot i found "the" keyboard mouse set, but the mouse scroller is just way too slow, even with the scroller settings set to the fastest mode possible :( i run a mac book pro.

"Better than the original cordless", I wanted a cordless keyboard, but missed the numeric keyboard that came from Apple. I never liked the Apple mouse, and have been using my Logitech Cordless Trackman Wheel. Have not really used the mouse that comes with the S530, but it is okay. The keyboard works fine. Lots of quick launch buttons that can be easily programed. Only real disadvantage is you have to use one of the 3 USB ports on the back of the iMac for the transmitter. Also, to set up the software, you need to download the newest version from the Logitech web site, but that was easy. All the controls for all logitech products are now found in the System Preferences of the Mac . They are listed on the bottom as "other" and it is called Logitech Control Center. That works great and you can set up all your Logitech devices easily. Overall, although it is hard to get excited about a keyboard, I have been very happy, and I am glad I bought it.

"Mushy and innacurate.", I purchased a Mac last week switching from a Dell PC. I wanted a more PC like keyboard and mouse for my Mac. After trying the keyboard I found the keys to be mushy and very unresponsive. It also had a very cheap feel to it, very unlike Logitech. The mouse also was uncomfortable to use the side buttons. I found it to be innacurate in its tracking. Stick with the keyboard and mouse that comes with the Mac.

"Great replacement but Logitech needs to work on it", I really hated the keyboard and mouse that came w/my iMac. I've been a Logitech user for years on my PC and love them. One of the first things I always do when getting a new PC is to swap out the cheapie keyboard and mouse that comes w/them to my Logitech cordless desktop.

Although the Mac version a a great site better than what came w/the iMac it's not up to the standards that the PC versions of the cordless desktop is. The mouse is fine but the keyboard seems to be more cheaply made and there is no indicator for when upper/lower case is in use. I miss that a lot. I would buy it again, but Logitech still needs to perfect this one.

I am happy that I no longer need my gel wrist rest because what comes on the Mac keyboard is better than what comes on the PC keyboard.

"comfort and style w/ a few quirks of function", I've been using Logitech mice since I was about 13 years old and have favored their keyboards for just about as long and so when I "switched" from the PC to the Mac oh so many years ago, I simply brought my input device preferences along with me. They had performed so well for so long, why abandon them now? After all, we favor function over form, right? Except that something seemed not-quite-right about the black keyboard and the silver trackball tethered to the otherwise pristine white iMac G5. So when I encountered this fine looking pair, I perked up.

A few discretionary dollars later, this wireless keyboard/mouse pair arrived -- their chassis a matching white, their silver accents primly mirroring the metal "foot" of the iMac. It was delightful. Form and function combined. With a few critiques:

(1) It would have been nice to know that the wireless "dongle" needs to plug DIRECTLY into the iMac. During my initial setup, I plugged the receiver device into a USB hub which (though it was able to send keystroke and click packets back and forth) could not figure out what keyboard it was talking to and refused to acknowledge the Option and Command keys. And the right-click. Moving the receiver to a built-in USB port immediately fixed this problem, however.

(2) What happened to my "___ Lock" LEDs? Caps Lock? Num Lock? Where did you go?

(3) The keys on the keyboard are ... just OK. I like a firmer, "clackier" key. I want my keystrokes to sound like they mean business. I have a black Logitech keyboard at work that does this just fine (closest analog I can find currently for sale: Logitech Bluetooth Cordless Desktop MX Keyboard and Mouse (967301-0403)). These keys seem a bit ... flaccid.

(4a) The mouse is a comfortable fit but...
(4b) The volume control buttons are a little small. (When I use them at all, I seem to manage to mute accidentally instead of turning it up.)
(4c) The tracking laser is... How shall I put this? "Not the best"? Sometimes it only seems to want to go up and down; or else it tracks laterally very slowly. I'm wondering if it's just the surface I'm using. (First it was an old, decrepit mousepad. Now it's the bare wood of the desk.) This is EXACTLY why I prefer a good ol' fashioned trackball.

(5) Battery life is great. Took just under a year for the mouse to use up all its batteries and just over a year for the keyboard.

Would I buy it again...? Probably. If I could rate the items in here independent of each other, I would give 4 stars to the keyboard and 3 to the mouse. If I could buy the keyboard by itself, I would do that and seek out a trackball instead. (But that's just me.)

"Great For Mac!!", Nice keyboard for a Mac computer. Has all the functions of the OEM keyboard but with a better feel. The only thing you give up is the 2 USB ports on the OEM keyboard. This is a great replacement for the stock keyboard and it's WIRELESS!!!
