"Good buy!", I like these headphones, but when I bought the pink/white headphones, the picture depicted them with WHITE cords. When I opened the package, I saw they were a GLARING and VERY obvious pink. I was too lazy to send it back and exchange it cause my previous broke, but had I another pair of headphones to carry me over, I would have sent it back. However, I do like the option of different rubber earbuds, one larger and a smaller, which works perfectly for me as I have pretty small ears. I also love the volume control attached on the cords themselves, but it's pretty flimsy and the knob moves easily. Great sound and otherwise comfortable.

"Quality is not great", I've owned 3 pairs of these earbuds in the last year. The first pair's demise was due to gnawing pets, so those are off the hook. In Oct 2008, I bought a pink pair of these "Smokin' Buds" after my trusty Sony's bit the dust. I liked the analog volume control on them, and the silicone fittings stay nicely on the earbud. But, after about 1 month of use, the headphone jack quit playing nice with my iPod Touch. Other earbuds worked in the iPod, and the Skullcandy worked with other devices, but they didn't work together. (For the record, these had an L-shaped headphone jack, where the jack was perpendicular to the direction of the earbud cable)

At this point, I borrowed another pair of Skullcandy earbuds. These were very similar to my pink ones, except the earbud jack was straight, inline with the wire direction. Today the cable got caught on a chair and I accidentally ripped the headphone jack out from the audio wire. I've have snags like this before with lots of different earbuds, and never had this happen.

Yes, they're cheap($), but you get what you pay for. I guess if you are a more gentle user than I, these might work for you.

I would recommend some Sony's instead. I had two different pairs that lasted for over 1.5 years each. Much better quality.

"good sound- poor design, lasted 2 months", liked the sound- good for coffee shop studying as it blocked out other noise well.
however the volume control on the chord was too bulky and acted as a weight while jogging. constantly having to put earbuds back in ears.
after 2 months, the left side stopped working and only works when i hold the chord at the base at a certain angle.
pay ten bucks more and get a better product.


"Great Headphones, but not for everyone!", I bought these headphones for the first time about a year ago when they first came out. I decided I'd give them a shot and threw them on! I fell in love INSTANTLY! The bass was very powerful and the sound was crisp and clear. They're really good headphones for the price, and the noise canceling effect is a really nice plus. However, I have noticed that when I let people use them (or read reviews), some people have a lot of trouble keeping them in their ears. Or they complain that they hurt their ears or feel uncomfortable. I've never had a problem with this, but with the number of people I've seen complaining about it, it definatley must be a problem. I don't mean to say don't give them a chance! If you have the extra cash, just try them out, who knows? You may end up loving them! But be cautious, they might not fit in your ears. But hey, they fit in mine! And when the ones I have break, I'll buy another pair of Skullcandy headphones :]


"Great...and then the letdown comes...", I got a white pair of these for my birthday in April, and they were fabulous. The sound is crisp, and you have great volume control. The bass is also great for people that really like heavy-bass music.
And then, in August, all the sudden, the right ear broke, and just stopped working for no apparent reason. I can live with that, so I just let it go. But then 3 days later, the left ear broke just like the right one! No matter how many ways I positioned it, or cleaned it, they just wouldn't work.
They lasted 5 months....not so good....

"Disappointing.", The best part about this product? These earbuds look good. Which is part of the reason why I bought them in the first place, and now I'm kicking myself for it. Actually, I also loooved that they had a volume slider attached to the cord. I really miss having that feature--there don't seem to be any comparable earbuds for the price that have a volume slider.

The sound is alright, not particularly full and fleshed out (which you could defend with their price, if not for the fact that the Creative EP 630s have much better sound and cost about the same). Mine broke after two months of normal use though. I'm sure not everyone's break, but mine did. The right bud shorted out.

Other complaints? Despite the different sizes of ear pieces included (small, medium, and large), trying them all out I still couldn't find a comfortable fit for working out in them, and I do not have oddly shaped ears--I've never had such problems with earbuds of any other brand falling out before while jogging or using the elliptical. I think part of this has to do with the material used for the earpieces, not just the shape. While it's easier to clean than some earbuds with similar pieces, it tends to slides out of your eat easier. The buds just wouldn't get stay in unless I was just sort of sitting around. Also, you can still hear quite a bit of outside noise. Yes, I know they aren't advertised as noisecancelling, but there are other buds which are not either and block out much more than these do. (Creative, Sennheiser, etc.)

"The ultimate in earbuds!", I've heard no other earbud that's even come close to the sound quality of this set. The bass is incredible and they're comfortable. I use them on my PSP and the bass pumps, the mids are nicely discernable, and the highs are distinct. They give you three sizes of tips so you can find the best fit for your ear. Don't know why some of the other Amazon shoppers dis the sound quality unless they're not getting them seated correctly in their ears. I haven't tried Skullcandy's Full Metal Jacket or TiTans yet, so I can't compare the Smokin' Buds to either of them. For the money, you can't get better here.

"Not my Favorite", Pros: Pretty good noise blocking and like the volume control on chord.

Cons: Fall out of your ears easily. Especially while running or working out. Right side of headphones stopped working after about a month.

"Sound and work fine", These are good earbuds. The bass isn't super strong, but overall sound quality is great for the price. You get what you pay for. If you're looking for unbelievable sound you're going to have to pay a lot more money than you would for these headphones.

"Great quality for a decent price. ", The color design is quite attractive and fun, and the earbuds are one of the best I've owned. Skullcandy is a good brand, and this product represents them well. No real downsides, the spound quality is awesome and the product on the whole is just very good, and for alot less than other quality earbuds.
