Others say...
"Nice quiet fan that's a pain and a half to put on..." I got this fan because I figured I'd need to upgrade the factory fan that came with my Intel Q6600 2.4Ghz proc. Let me break this review down into two parts for simplicity: 1) installation, and 2) actual usage.
Installation...
This was a nightmare. It's worse if you're upgrading your CPU and fan or just the fan itself since the fan requires (I'm using a Socket 775 board) this two piece bracket, one side being on the back of the motherboard. I actually did manage to place the back piece (I guided it through with my fingers as carefully as I could and then just lined up one of the screw holes to lock it down) without having to remove the board but it's definitely something that's easier done on a new install or if you're okay with pulling everything out of the motherboard and just working outside the case.
The REAL nightmare was securing the actual fan to the bracket. They rely on this metal piece that's been moulded a certain way such that you need to partially screw in one end then push down hard on the other end...not for the faint of heart since your CPU is wedged in between the fan and the board...It can be done but it took a number of attempts to get this working right. You can try to bend the metal piece (assuming you have a vise) but then you risk the fact that it might not hold the fan in place if you're setting your box up vertically.
Also, it relies on a rather cheap little box with a dial that lets you adjust the fan speed. Interesting idea but it's not exactly designed to work with all cases (it's just attached to a power cable that you put between the main fan power cable and the board)...at first I tried popping a slot cover and threaded the cable through but this seemed stupid in the end since I just cranked it and left it at the same speed continuously. In the end, I just stashed it inside the case somewhere...it's easy enough to get into the case to change this if needed. This would have been better off as a control panel or app that I could run rather than this hardware switch...
Actual usage...
Once you've got it on the board, it works like a charm. I haven't benchmarked it while under heavy load but then again, I'm not seeing artifacts or hanging so I'm guessing it's well within tolerances. Dialing it up to near max speed, it runs quiet as a dream...I was actually shocked because even though my box was already pretty quiet (I'm using an antec case with two big 120mm's) after installing this and a new PSU, I could barely tell that the box was on (yeah, the lights gave it away).
All in all, I'd recommend the fan but not the installation. If you're building a new box, then no worries really (just make sure you're careful with that metal strip). If you're upgrading a well-established box, then keep in mind you'll likely have to pop the motherboard out to install this.
"Zalman CPU Fan" I have my QX9650 overclocked at 3.42GHz and it is keeping it at 37.5'c at idle. I have an ASUS P5KC Motherboard and a Raidmax Smilodon Case and this fit in nicely
"good product" I live in Panama, hot country and this cpu fan reduced the cpu temperature from 50 C to 40 C. Easy to install
"Very good" This is a very good air cooler, probably the best solution you can get without going liquid. To make things even better, I suggest you use Artic Silver thermal paste. Zalman's is good, but Artic Silver is better.
"blasting performance" simple and easy to install and keeps my E6850 33 at idle and 42 at load
who needs water cooling with such performance

What our customer's say!
"A tight fit, but amazing performace!", I bought this after returning a Thermaltake Orb II that was too big to fit in my computer. This being my first home build and that being my only major mishap I felt quite satisfied when I chose this as my replacement. Not only does it keep my CPU running in the mid 20s when idle, it has never once reached above 42C with a full load. I have a Core 2 Duo, which runs a bit cooler than say a Pentium 4, but to have a CPU run that low is almost unheard of. That's cooling right there!!! From reading other people's sucesses (and failures) with other various cooling products I feel like I invested wisely.
Installation was a bit of a chore, but if you follow the instructions carefully and take your time it shouldn't be a problem. I'd recommend a good thermal grease like Arctic Silver 5, or something comparable. The stock grease that comes with most CPUs isn't bad, but for $5 you can get something that is twice as good. Also watch out for the fins, they're sharp and will cut you if you let them. It is a bit noisy when turned up all the way, but it's nice to be able to move a lot of heat when you need to. I run at less than half speed almost all the time and at that speed my case fan is louder than that by far. LEDs are a nice touch, makes my case look sweet! Highly recommended and this has sold me on the Zalman brand, quality parts and unique design all in great products.
Other thoughts: When I overclock my CPU it idles in the mid-low 30s and with a full load it has yet to reach 50C, which is more than I was ever expecting. Normally a big fear with overclocking a big fear is overheating, but wth this cooler the only thing holding me back from higher speeds is my ram can't handle it.
"Nice and cool looking", Mounting time, half hour from the moment I took the motherboard out of the case and started reading the manual. very easy and very secure.
i didn't use the control thing that came with it, just simply connected the cable directly to the motherboard CPU FAN connector, and its speed is being automatically controlled by the computer's BIOS.
very silent and very nice looking, the fins are very very thin (0.2mm!!) you can get your self cut easily, or badly bend them, must handle and mount the fan with care.
CPU temprature dropped 4 degrees on idle state and 7 degrees on heavy load, you may say not much of a difference from the original intel that I had, but I have the Thermaltake Armor+ Case with 5 140mm fans and one 125mm fan, so there is already excellent cold airflow inside the case, to be hoenst, I was surprised that the temprature difference was this much, i was thinking i might get 2 or 3 degrees difference only.
"Excellent Cpu Cooler", excellent simply excellent, my processor is kept on 67 Degrees, now under up to 40 degrees, is a good product we recommend
"Its really pretty awesome", The moment i saw this LED cpu in a PC a few weeks ago i just had to have it! At least if it was good, So i spent about two weeks looking around review sites and sellers sites etc. until i found a good deal the moment i did i bought it with ought hesitation, This product is top of the line! My idle CPU temp went from 85c to 29c.... Thats insane! Under load i cant EVER get it over 39c even with the fan on its lowest setting! Im running a dual core chip too! The installation was easy ONLY if you know what your doing because to install it you will have to take EVERY piece of hardware out of your computer and install the bracket on the backside of the mobo and put it all back in! If your not leet just pay 20 bucks to a PC store to do it for ya. anyway this is a great product and i love it sooo much btw it DOES come with thermal compound i purchased the Arctic Silver 5 compound with it but it dident come on time so i just used the compound that came with the cooler and wait til i get a new mobo for the arctic....
"Sencillamente Asombroso!", Sere breve, este CPU fan junto a una excelente pasta termica son insuperables! Es hermoso, su led te hace delirar y puedes variar a gusto su velocidad, pero ten encuenta, mayor velocidad significa mayor ruido de este sin duda alguna excelente CPU fan! el unico pero, cuando el polvo entra entre su extructura es incomodo, pero no imposible, limpiarlo. Temperatura promedio del CPU (un Q6600) 35 grados!

Read this reviews before You buy...
"lovely", love this cpu fan, little work to be done to get it intall on your machine but the time spend it is worth it becouse it really keeps you system cool and if you can get a performance thermal paste like the one i used to install this cpu fan was ultra 5+ from ocz technologies. ;) buy it
"GREAT !!", I'm using this cooler on my quad core intel Q6600 processor, and it's amazing, my PC now runs at 37c idle, and 42 under load, best buy ever.
"One of The best cpu fans out there!", if you want your cpu to be at a cool temp. all the time whether your overclocking or not then this is fan is for you! the stock cpu fan is nothing compared to this fan! the blue led is a nice touch. i would recommend the newer update for this fan CNPS9700!
"Excelent product", This zalman cpu fan, coupled with good system circulation, keeps the cpu runing cool and looks great too. Ships with everything needed and installation isnt that hard(If its a new system build), otherwise the backplate needs the mobo to be removed. The copper plate that sits on the cpu is polished to a mirror like finish. My setup includes an antec900 with some aux fans for a total of 8 fans and my system temps are stable at: Cpu: 42*c, system, 31*c, gpu 55 - 60*c with fans set to medium. The zalman cooler also pushes ait towards the exhaust fan increasing exhaust by approx 30%.
WELL DONE ZALMAN, and thanks for the sticker included too :-)
"Good, but it could be better!", It only reduces about 6 degrees of my computer, not much help, kind of disapointed. It looks cool though...
