"The "good" version of DA, but it has a lot of flaws on PC"
I'm surprised more people weren't upset when they realized that if you had a PS2, you got the crappy version of Splinter Cell Double Agent, as opposed to the one with all the advertised events (scaling down a huge building to spy on a meeting, pulling people threw ice, etc.)... since I don't have a 360, but I do have a good PC, I decided to buy the PC version so I could experience the better version of Double Agent.

...yeah the PC version has some bugs. I was unable to launch the game from the shortcut installed; I had to open the disc tray, push it back, and wait for the launcher that comes from putting the disc in. If I just used the icon my computer practically froze. I've also had a few crashes, but it's not like they happen a few times a mission. I still say my purchase was worthwhile just because I got to play the non-PS2 version of the game. Here's a brief list of things changed between the PC/360/PS3 and PS2/Xbox (I believe Xbox has the same version as PS2 anyway):

1. PC version takes place in the present, so the chooses you make as a Double Agent seem more real and at times its hard to decide what to do.
2. Many levels are completely different. The last levels for the 2 versions are completely different. The PS2 version has something like a final boss, where in the PC version the main terrorist is taken out just like any other random person. The PS2 version's end also has a little more closure than the PC's, but the way the whole game is told makes it seem kind of sloppy and just thrown in:

:SPOILERS:
In the PS2 version, after defeating the terrorist leader and defusing the bomb, Enricka is killed by another Splinter Cell. Sam then stalks and slits the other agent's throat as payback. Seeing as in the PS2 version Same and the girl barely have any interaction, Sam going out of his way to murder a fellow agent seems a bit odd. In the PC version you actually get some "interaction" *nudge, nudge* between the two... sadly Enricka doesn't really play a big part in the PC version's end.
:END SPOLIERS:

3. In the PC version many of the gadgets besides your guns are essentially useless. I only used the goggles about 2 times in the entire game.

Ok, I'm down rambling. My point is, if you want to play the good version of DA, and don't have a 360 or PS3, get this game. If you have a PS3, it's a toss up as that version has some slowdown issues. If you have a 360 I would say get that one, as from what I understand it's the best copy.

"Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Double Agent "
It is a great game for adults (for you liberals out there that means over 18 and out of mommy and daddy's house).

"Waste of Money"
The Splinter Cell games have historically been the top-of-the-line tactical shooters. Then they released Double Agent and ruined my entire perception of not on the game series but the company of Ubisoft as a whole and the Tom Clancy games in particular. I have patched the game and updated every driver in my system but the game hangs and I have yet to be able to finish it or get past the point on the ocean liner. It is complete and utter waste of money. They have stopped patching the game at this point and are advertising the next Splinter Cell game already, as if I want to play another game that is total garbage, I can't even finish this one! I won't purchase another Tom Clancy licensed game EVER and Ubisoft will be very lucky if I ever purchase another game with thier name on it either. This was the most disappointing piece of software I have ever had the misfortune of spending money on. I doubt I would play the new Splinter Cell game if they gave it to me for free.

"Not Their Best"
I am a real fan of the Splinter Cell games but this one is not their best effort. The game just doesn't play as smoothly as the other installments and there are still a lot of bugs in the game causing many crashes.

"Doesn't even start"
Game looked fun. It doesn't even start after installing the patches! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME! This is so not cool. I buy the game, wait for it to be shipped, and then it doesn't even work. Ubistupid should be ashamed!

What our customer's say!

"Disappointing", I've been a Splinter Cell fan for years until I've played this game.
Double Agent has stooped to a new low where it's just simply a game of hide-n-go seek.
I have to admit the graphics are excellent, having realistic content and features and of course the use of advertisements is not a big deal (since splinter cell have been sponsering cell phones mostly, now there's a Chrystler in this game) but the story of it is very dull.
Splinter Cell has gone from killing spree, funny dialogues, hilarious characters with different voices of stereotypical foreigners to a snore-fest walk.
What's also infuriating is his lovely walky-talky that now turns into a Stop-n-GO Street Light. Ummmmm... last time I've checked, I don't think anyone would appreciate wearing photocells where it distributes LIGHT and especially in three colors.
The story is understandable, but Ubisoft can do so much better. The missions are so repetitive to do the same things, just in a different way, just to simply get a wanted man dead. There's really no great end to this game.

My favorite piece of this game is actually the FIRST mission, and Shanghai, but unfortunately everything else is garbage because of the fact that you'll be stuck in a building filled with angered mobs walking around you all day while you wheel your way around them. That's probably the ONLY stealthy thing in the game, is to simply not get caught. What makes it funny is that you'll be sent out of the area and start over again.

Finally, the "Trust Bar". It's stupid. I can lower my trust with Lambert as much as I want, and I wouldn't care because it wouldn't end the game. Just to summarize this, the game follows solely on the story line. And what makes it hilarious is that I get to see Lambert again in the end of the game, and it gets me thinking, "Wait a minute, I thought this guy doesn't trust me anymore what happened?"

Splinter Cell also has bugs that'll just completely send the game into an error zone, even when it's updated.

I'm sorry Ubisoft, but you can either grab your old team who created splinter cell in the past to come back to work, or just simply stop the game entirely, because I can only imagine how horrible the sequels will be after this.

"Broken game. Pure and simple.", This game is broken on the PC. I've tried it on two different Quad Core systems using a 8600GTS and a 9600GT card, respectively. On both systems the game was so slow and choppy as to be effectively unplayable. It is not a question of the hardware being unable to keep up - even menu systems, 2D graphics easily renderable by even a decade-old computer, are choppy, slow, and unresponsive.

Something went wrong when this game was ported to the PC. It is completely broken, which is a shame given the general quality of the Splinter Cell series prior to this Double Agent installment.

I cannot recommend this title to anyone. I notice that other reviewers seem to be running it without trouble, but given the fact that negative reviews far outnumber positive ones, it seems to be a hit-and-miss product, with the "miss" option being the most likely.

If you're dying for a stealth game, nothing compares to the Hitman series, which has a proven track record, and is guaranteed to delight and entertain you. Hitman: Blood Money is the latest installment of the series.

"Do not even think about buying this game", Loaded this 10gig monster on my pc (P4 3.4 2 gig + Nividia 6800) which ran Bioshock (a game 2 years older than this) OK.

First cut scene slow and jerky- resetting graphics doesn't save right, next time you go in they are reset to highest settings. Known bug, check the net.

Character response time is SLOW. Tried training missions, can't see anything as they are artistic all white rooms with really bad wireframe wall definitions.

I'm literally thinking of throwing this game in the trash. I am a huge fan of Splinter Cell for the XBOX, did not get an XBOX 360, got a new computer instead.

Ubisoft has done an injustice to everyone who bought this game. As I said, Bioshock loaded and ran fine on my PC and graphics card.

Do not buy this game unless you like reading various internet help forums.

"My processor feels like a whipped pony now", I played this with 1 gb memory,an MSI dedicated card,80 gb hard drive and and very angry celeron 3.2 processor that feels like a whipped pony trying to race on Churchill Downs with the big guys.It ran a great race and I'm proud of it.I had Vista installed and had no problem. You really need a good system to play this game. I tried to play it with integrated ATI EXPRESS 200 and could n't load up. I would always crash and get a windows graphics error message. The problem was I didn't have shader3.0 .The msi took care of that and also helped vista aero graphics. The game itself is pretty good. For the price I paid for it it's a good buy and I would play it again. The game takes up 10 gb of hard drive space. I played it on an 80 gb hard drive with no problem but I would advise using a larger hard drive. It's a good game but demands a great computer.Don't knock Celerons as junk. It did the job although a Pentium would have been better.

"well i liked it", i ran it on a dell dimension e510 with 1.5ghz of ram, radeon x1300, and pentium D dual core 2.8ghz processor and i didnt get very many problems with it besides the sound issue with my sound card in a couple spots. and the only thing that ever wouldnt work was when you are about to go down and disarm the bomb.

Read this reviews before You buy...

"Great game", I bought this game for my husband for his birthday -- his request. He hasn't stopped playing it. He loves it!

"More accurately not Ubisoft but UBSTUPID!", This is an $8.00 game on Ebay, thats it! Frame lag, broken save game module, periodic crashes, by a company that should be renamed Ubstupid for releasing an untested game like this. If you can work around the mess, it's a fairly enjoyable game but the negs really take away alot of the pleasure in playing it. You never know whether or not the game was going to die altogether. I made it to the end, but not without headaches.

"What a joke", This is the buggiest game I have played in years. I have 5 high end systems. NONE OF them can play this stupid game. I use only name brand products in my systems. Creative labs sound card etc. I can run all of the latest games on their highest detail settings. Not this one. I cannot even run this game on the lowest setting. I want my money back. It crashes without warning. Pixelates my screen, locks my sound card up, and it is junk. Absolute junk. Wait till they are trying to give them away do not spend money on this game.

"Splintering Action", Great Game, a great addition to the series. Invovled story line in which your choices have a visible effect. Open level design gives you more than one way to accomplish most missions.

If you are running a Nforce 8800 card beware, the gaem was not tested on your card. Try moding the short cut with -LL after the executable and it seems to run okay (not super stable).

All In All I really enjoy this game.

"Glad I finally bought it....", What sucks is I based my decision on buying this game on all these bad reviews and waited ages before buying it...then again, the patch probably helped a lot. Yeah, it's kind of console-feeling...but there are more moves, more toys and gadgets, and is just a blast to play. The graphics are outstanding and the AI still could use some work, as usual, but the environments are completely immersive and are very well done and the gameplay is just great. I've only had a couple problems with saves, and I've had no crashes whatsover. Just buy it used like I did...can't go wrong for that price.
