"First One Died, Buying Another", I have a love/hate relationship with this adapter.

When it worked, I loved it, as I could charge my iPhone (first original, then 3G) with just this device and a cable. I got in the habit of leaving it in my travel bag, and have used it successfully in the US, EU, Russia, and northern Africa. It packs in one relatively small and smooth piece which stuffs nicely into a folded pair of socks, so you don't have a bag full of prongs waiting to put holes in things.

The hate part comes from it breaking on me while overseas and one month out of warranty, leaving me to find an available computer with a USB port to recharge my phone.

I'm buying another one because this thing was just so great while it worked, and I haven't seen anything else that comes close to being as nice to travel with and use. If you tend to be hard on your toys though, you might want to look elsewhere.

"A Must-Have for Travel", I've been using this for over one year, and have been very happy with the performance. I use it to charge my iPod and electric shaver (not at the same time, of course), and it has fit fine in every outlet that I've tried.

The description says this is an "all-in-one" adapter, which is a bit of a stretch. There is the main adapter body, and two removable caps, one for regular electronic devices, and one for USB devices. You can only use one of the caps at a time, so there will be a loose cap around. It would be nice if it came with a little bag or case to keep the components together.

Please note that this DOES NOT CONVERT VOLTAGE, nor does it make any claims that it does so. Read the instructions and carefully check your electronics before leaving for your trip.

"Great tool", I ordered the travel plug adapter with usb and have used it in England and at home. It works well and is so easy to change the type of plug. I like that it is compact and keeps my ipod working around the world.

"HORRIBLE!", I went to Europe and bought this item before I left. It didn't work on any electrical applicance that we brought. I was stuck in Europe with NOTHING. I DO NOT recommend this item. Worthless.


"Read the Fine Print", Here's the essential information from the product's information guide that I wish I had had before I bought it:

"IMPORTANT: Using the Travel Plug Adapter with the AC adapter cap allows your electronic equipment's plug to fit into electric outlets worldwide, but it does not reduce or convert electrical AC voltage. Using the Travel Plug Adapter in a power source with voltage higher or lower than your electronic equipment specifies creates a risk of damaging or destroying the equipment and a risk of other serious safety hazards. Note, however, that using the Travel Plug Adapter with the USB adapter cap does convert the voltage in any outlet worldwide to the correct voltage for USB."

So if you're using the USB adapter cap, this product both drops the AC voltage in the wall down to 5 volts and converts it to DC, BUT it you're using the AC adapter cap, it's just a plug converter: if the AC device you plug into it requires 110 VAC and you plug the product into a 220VAC wall outlet, you will probably damage your AC device.

Some sources for this product advertise its 110-220VAC-in, 5VDC-out capability without stating that this is only for the USB adapter cap.

The quoted language from the instruction guide should be on the outside of the product package so people can make an informed purchasing decision.

"Not all it's cracked up to be", I was under the impression that this was an AC/DC power converter. Do not be fooled!

"Love it!", I bought this for a recent trip overseas and it really came in handy. I was able to use it to charge my cell phone, camera and ipod. Only drawback was that it could not handle the blow dryer. My friend has the same one and used it with her blow dryer and it blew up.

"Travel plug atapter", Excellent compact design. You pick your countries plug type and slide out the prongs. Sure beats buying a plug adapter for every country you visit. It does not step down/up the voltage, but it's not meant to. For those that miss that, it has a fuse (and a spare fuse). The USB adapter handles 120/240, so it works everywhere. It's a bit goofy having a separate piece for USB, but with the rest being so compact I can overlook it.

"USB charger a bust", The USB charger does not charge a Creative Micro Zen MP3 player. The player just drains to zip when it is plugged in.

"Every traveler should own it when traveling abroad!", It works in Israel, Jordan, and Egypt as well as other parts of the world.
