"Lil Wayne-The Carter II", I bought the Cd for my oldest daughter because she has all his cds so she liked it.

"Lil Wayne - Tha Carter II", It is highly unlikely that Tha Carter III will be a better album than this one. Because to me, this is easily one of the best Rap albums i have heard in the last five years. Lil Wayne can say he is the best rapper alive after this almost perfect album. Before Tha Carter II, Weezy was just another rapper claiming to be the best, very similar to T.I. But T.I. didnt live up to his own hype, Lil Wayne did. This album is great because it combines the best of the mixtape world and the radio world. The production on this album is what surprised me the most, because this is the first Weezy album where Mannie Fresh wasnt the main producer, and thats where Waynes had all of his previous success. But i have never been a big fan of Mannie, so i was pleased with the move. But Wayne seemed much more aggressive on this album than any of his other past albums. On tracks like the rap-rock mixed "Best Rapper Alive", where he spits venom about how he is the King of the game. Or on the eerie piano tinged "Hit Em Up" which is almost scary how devilish this song sounds, but its none the less a standout where he again re establishes his street cred. And then there is the Isley Brothers sampled "Receipt" which is probably my favorite song on the album with its feel good laid back vibe. Overall, this album has several standouts, but the biggest thing this album has done for Weezy, is that it established him as a very potent rapper who is so versatile. This album is definetly a keeper and definetly worth buying!

"The real "baby" of Cash Money", The lead singles from this album were the overall average tracks "Money on My Mind" and "Fireman." So what compelled me to purchase this LP? Lil' Wayne's natural demeanor tends to capture women's attention. His laid back attitude and southern drawl simply drive ladies wild! If you doubt me, ponder on how many music industry women he has been linked to in recent years: Nivea, Trina, Karrine Steffans...the list goes on.

"Tha Carter II" is a pretty decent album. What brought the album down was the lousy production and corny hooks. However, Lil Wayne never disappoints lyrically on this album, and that's what accentuates it. "Mo Fire", "Lock and Load" and the awful "Shooter" all have bad hooks and production. Lil' Wayne should have just swallowed his pride and called on Mannie Fresh to administer some good production because this catastrophic mess is not flying with me. "I'm A Dboy" is a good song, but the beat sounds a little like Milli Vanilli's hit, "Girl You Know It's True." Go figure. I enjoyed "Receipt", "Hustler Muzik" and "Grown Man", so, in other words I really favored his more slower-tempoed songs.

If you are an individual who is all about lyrics, and hooks and production aren't of chief importance to you, pick this album up. Otherwise, it is quite alright to pass it up.

HIS LYRICS HAVE DEFINITELY IMPROVED A WHOLE BUNCH SINCE HIS EARLIER YEARS WITH CA$H MONEY. EVERYTHING ABOUT THE ALBUM MAKES IT A HOTT ALBUM. THE BEATS, FLOWS, CONCEPTS, AND LYRICS. NOW LIL WAYNE IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE MC'S NOT JUST CUZ OF THIS ALBUM, BUT ALSO CUZ OF HIS LATEST MIXTAPES.
