"Party Time", The machine is great fun and easy to set up. Plug and play!!! My New Years Eve party guests didn't leave until 7AM because we couldn't get them off the microphone!!!!

"Broke after three hours", Like many other reviews you read here, I also got a bad unit. I bought it for Christmas 2008. Initially my 9 yr old daughter was very excited, and it lasted for about 3 hours until the thing broke, when of course she (and I) became very disappointed. The speaker and the output sound to the TV both stopped working.

Very poor quality, as I now know first-hand. Even with the bad reviews, I bought it because I didn't see too many alternatives at this price level. Now that I've returned it, I've found the GPX brand, and bought a similar unit to this one. So far, it's working well (more than 3 hours at least).

I would NOT recommend that you purchase this unit.

"Baaaad machine!", Our machine was a dud - would not recognize any CD's in the player - even the demo CD that was shipped with the machine. As you can probably tell by reading these reviews (which I wish I had done thoroughly before buying this lemon) is that some of the machines work and some don't. So - it's basically a crap shoot. If you feel like taking a chance - order one. It might work - it might not. Ours didn't and it's going back!

"does not work at all", My wife purchased one of these units before Christmas.
The intent was to use it during a family get together after Christmas.
When it arrived we hooked it up to our home tv, it did not work, the audio was fine but the words on the screen were all garbeled and illegible.
We took it with us the the party anyway, hoping it might work on a different tv.
It didn't, it had no video at all.
While playing around with the cables it was noticed that the unit would work only if the center pin on the RCA plug was touching the outer part of the receptacle on the unit.
In other words the RCA receptacle inside the unit must be wired backwards.
I tried to call the phone number listed in the directions but it was "no longer in service".
Sorry but we would not recommend this unit to anyone


"So far...so good", We purchased this for our 9-yr-old daughter for Christmas! The expression on her face when she opened it on Christmas morning was priceless! She loves it! So far it is working pretty well. We haven't hooked it up to the TV yet so I can't comment on how that feature works. The only thing that is a bit of a drawback is that the mic is not that loud. All that matters is that she loves it! We are going to get another mic, maybe a couple as stand-bys. All in all we think this was a good purchase.

"Teacher with Noisy Students", I was very pleased how quickly the karaoke machine arrived. It packs a lot of punch for a low price. I wanted something easy to use without a lot of bells and whistles, since I purchased it for my classroom. It has great volume so that even with 18 preschoolers joyfully singing, they can still hear the cd.

"Buyers Beware! Within a year, the CD's won't play", I have bought 2 of these machines within the last 2 years. The first one I bought stopped playing the CD's within a year. My girls have so much fun with it that I decided to buy another one. I bought the Singing machine for Christmas 2007. The girls loved it again until it just stopped playing CD's again. I contacted the Singing Machine company thinking first off, that it hasn't been a year and second off, this was the second machine I have owned in 2 years and the same thing happened. They gave me some tips and told me that the warranty was only 3 months. That alone should have been a warning to me. They also told me that I could send it in and they would repair it for $45. I could buy a new one for that! Or at least put it towards, a different brand. As much as the kids loved it, I will not buy another one from this company because I feel it is a poorly made machine. Beware!
Anything with only a 3 month warranty should be a big red flag for the consumer!

"Was fun while it lasted", I bought this machine for my daughter's 7th birthday (Feb. 2008). It was great fun for the party and we used it maybe twice after that, but it no longer works at all (can no longer read the discs). I contacted the company and they offered suggestions, none of which solved the problem. The warranty period was a measly 6 months, which they must have determined was about as long as the product is likely to last without incident. I would not recommend this karaoke machine.

"don't buy this machine", I didn't open it up right away because it was for my daughter's birthday. When I did open it up two weeks later it was broken. I contacted the company that I bought it from and they said that they would only take it back after 10 days so basically I was out of luck with them. They told me to contact the manufacturer because there was a 90 day warranty. I have sent the machine back but I can't get an answer from them after numerous emails and calls. It is a huge hassel and not worth it. I do not recommend buying anything from the singing machine. Also I had to pay to ship it back....bad bad company!!!!!!

"My 8 year old daughter loves it!", My daughter goes to her room pops in her cds (karaoke or not) and sings to her hearts content. It was well worth the money. Bought a cheap second microphone at Target and her friends sing with her.
