"Best First Person Shooter I've Played"
I have played PC games for twenty years and I can say without reservation that FEAR is the best first-person shooter I've ever played. I can't point to one single element. It has great graphics, excellent combat, effective musical scoring and all, but it's the overall experience of playing the game that is superb.

Every day for a week, I couldn't wait for night to come so I could turn out the lights and become immersed in the world. It literally made my hair stand on end. I can't remember the last time a game had that kind of effect.

Highly recommended

"Brilliant!"
Simply the best game I've ever played. This game has the best AI I've seen yet and the plot is deep and complex. Towards the end I felt a lot of sympathy for "Alma", and I some ways this game is a little like the movie The Ring. Play it, you won't regret it.

"A game that lives up to its' name"
I don't play many games on my computer but this is one that will keep you playing. It can be as difficult as you want and challenges you on finding answers to move through the game not just blast the enemy. There is plenty of the "shoot to live" in the game but there are sudden on screen displays that makes the heart jump to the throat. All in all it is one of the best shooter games I have played.

"Big Bang!"
Awesome Graphics, Original Storyline, Great Multiplayer options, What more could you ask for! I played this game for ten minutes and got sucked in. . . The things that stand out most are awesome weapon power, SLOW DOWN TIME OR SPEED UP TIME DEPENDING on how you view that, Push the conrol button and speed thru the level massacring the enemy with any weapon. Millions of hidden items in this game, you'll need to find most of them to power thru the levels. And lastly, Finally a great multiplayer interface, makes this the icing on the cake. Awesome multi- levels, great hidding spaces, BIG BANG FOR MY BUCK. . . . 5 stars nothing less.

"Best AI ever!!"
i've played countless first person shooters now, and i have to say, F.E.A.R. is one of the best games i've played, if your looking for a challenge in shooting enemies then this would be it as it has the most impressive AI's a game can give, this is a MUST for 1st person shooters, don't miss it out!

What our customer's say!

"Good, but still behind HL2", Overall fun game. I am about half way through and enjoy the gameplay and story so far. Graphics are good, but I still think that HL2 graphics are slightly better. Also, a map feature would be good for those times when I save and then come back a week later. Map or a way to block the way I just came would allow me to start up going in the right direction instead of backtracking for 15 minutes.

"Best fps horror", F.E.A.R. is one the best horror games I have played,
It's like Silent hill in First person view.
There was one great part where you jump into this pool of water and instantly go into a diffrent realm, It was awsome.
The Graphics are awsome too. The levels are well detailed,
Now about levels being repetitive, I actually had to replay fear just to see what everyone was talking about.
Now that I whent over It again, I can say that they are repetitive,
I did'nt notice that before, Probably because I was too busy kicking a** lol.
About the language: I did'nt see anything wrong with the language after all If you were getting shot at what would you say?
About the violence: Does FPS mean anything to ya'll. I did'nt see anymore violence in this game than I did in Metal Gear Solid or The Punisher.
The story: This game is like one of those movies that you actually have to follow through and payattention too. But If the story does'nt keep you playing the action will.
About Replayability: you'll probably play this game about once or twice, Because going around the second time does'nt offer anything. No story changes. No unlockables. Nothing new.
But the greatest thing about the ai is that there unpredictable. (Meaning they don't strike the same spot)
I was shooting one guy while the other guy sneeked around the corner behind me.
Enemies being repetitive, I think not.
The only thing I hated about F.E.A.R. is the 5cds they should have put
It on dvd, or did they? If they did I could'nt find It so I'm stuck with 5cds

Now about the specs. I have a upgraded gateway gt5040 Pc
Video/Graphics card: SAPPHIRE 100176L Radeon X1950PRO (one not two),
and 3 gigs of ram
That's all I've upgraded soo far.
I can run fear at max flawlessly.
and thats without using crossfire (two video cards).
Looking at everybodys specs, there computers seemed to be more powerfull
than mine. But yet can't run at max settings. Maybe It's Geforce lol, or probably ram.

About the cd being needed in the drive to play. Get a nocd crack at gamecopyworld.com or Alcohol 120% at alcohol-software.com

Overall: A great game to play once or twice, But some may find it too violent or too much bad language. Just download the demo befor you buy it.

"WOW What detail!!", Playing this game with a 8800gts video card and a 22 inch screen is just about as fun as you can get

"A little disappointed.", I have been waiting 6 months to play this game. I have just built a Vista computer and loaded it up. Graphics are excellent and artificial intelligence is very good. However, I find it very repetitive.

"pretty good but not great", The graphics are really good, and the effects, like the slow motion effect, are great. The AI is pretty good as well. And there is some humor in it. Like when you meet the first girl, you have to escort her out the building, and she keeps making sarcastic remarks like "Do you HAVE to kill EVERYONE?!?" I thought it was pretty funny.

Now for the bad parts of the game. I think the thing I hate most is that your character cant run fast. In other words, he can never sprint. When he walks, he walks extremely slow, and it's not a video card problem. And when you toggle on run mode, he only walks a little faster. He is certainly not capable of running fast at all. His slow movement, combined with very repetitious mazes of office buildings makes it a bit boring.

Other than the fact that most of the maps are repetitive, and your character can't run fast, ever, I give it 4 stars. I only have to knock of stars because they made it so repetitive. But there are enough points in the game (although not often enough) where the action is absolutely entertaining.

"Fun with fear", Easy to see why this was voted best shooter in 2005.
This game had great graphics and a good story.
Most fun I've had from a game in a long time-
Weapon selections are a crack-up!

"Impressive visuals, fantastic gunfights, but boredom sets in.", I love first person shooter games. Games like "Half Life 2", "Far Cry" and "Call of Duty" have all been thoroughly entertaining. After reading great reviews of "F.E.A.R.", I figured I would undoubtedly enjoy it. As it has turned out, I did enjoy playing it, but I have quite a few complaints to make about it too.

I'll start with the good stuff though. This game looks absolutely fantastic! The graphics are awesome, the lighting and shadow effects brilliant (and used for good effect) and the animation is second to none. My PC isn't massive, but the game ran perfectly well with nearly all the bells and whistles turned on. "F.E.A.R" attempts to be a frightening experience through use of creepy sound effects and visuals and I must admit that I did get a serious jump quite a few times, along with that hair-raising-on-the-neck effect that comes with good horror. But the absolute best thing about this game is the gunfights. The enemies are reasonably intelligent and the weapons are satisfying to use. Time after time you will find yourself surrounded by enemies, having to use all your skills to keep personal damage to a minimum. I'd have to say these battles are more intense and satisfying than in any other single player game I've had the pleasure of playing.

Unfortunately, it's a double edged sword. The creators realised they were onto a good thing and ran with it. The game becomes extremely repetitive within a couple of hours. Fight your way through 5 or 6 enemies, walk down a creepy corridor hearing voices and seeing strange images, fight your way through 5 or 6 enemies, walk down another creepy corridor etc. etc. repeat over and over for the next 20 hours. The problem is that while the creepy parts are indeed creepy, they don't actually amount to anything, and by the 50th creepy corridor, it's just not creepy anymore. Half the time, you'll just be confused and hoping that eventually you'll find out what the hell is going on. While you will find out the cause of what's occurring, there is certainly no satisfying resolution in my opinion. I guess I feel that the "Half Life" games have a much better story, the "System Shock" games did creepy far better and the majority of major similar styled games (other than Doom 3) have a heck of a lot more variety than "F.E.A.R.". Perhaps some vehicles were needed, or contrasting environments, or a chase scene, or a defend point A from enemies B scenario would have broken things up.

Anyway, I've whinged enough. If you love "Doom 3", you'll love "F.E.A.R.". It looks spectacular and plays really impressively. But if you need more story and more variations than the standard fare, you may want to look elsewhere. I can't say it wasn't good, but I had to make myself finish it instead of wanting to, which isn't a good sign.

"Wow - Excellent Game Play", I am an avid player of first person shooters. F.E.A.R. is the first game to ever give me goose bumps and chills. The action is great and the story line was creepy in a good way. This at the top of my list for FPS games.

"Good", It's a solid game, multiplayer leaves a bad taste in your mouth though. Repetitive single player.

"Feels like an intense movie, plays like molasses", First thing is you better have the correct chipset to play this game. I found it ridiculous that my GEForce that I got in this computer that came with it could easily handle FarCry, Solider of Fortune II and Call Of Duty. I actully first came across with this with Medal of honor: Pacific Assult.

So I couldn't afford a 300 dollar new GEForce or Radeon so I got a lower cost Radeon 8000 series and even still barley ran this game. Not the chip's problem I'm guessing but I'd suggest not to play this game unless you have a meg of ram. 512 sucks it from my hard drive. With a 2.0 ghz speed processor that will be sufficiant.

So because of that there is certian points in the game where it will "stall". This got frustrating. I also disliked the RIDICULOUS loading times in between levels. There are some flaws in the programming with this. I tried it in a computer with a AMD Athlon processor and ran a little better then the Pentium 4 but he also had 2 meg of ram. There was still some delay times, but his graphics card was a little slower then mine.

Graphics are great but so are other first shooter games. Why does this game require such a hardcore computer to run it? Because of the overall 3D interface is better then anything I'be played. Also, the attention to detail such as hitting objects in multiple directions, the reflexes and the sound in the game is incredible. The action in it is very realistic. In order to experince the best feel of the game and if your computer can handle it try the graphics and sound on highest detail. It feels like your in a crazy action movie combined with a horror story. The story which I won't give away is very complex. I still don't get alot of it.

The movies in between are the highlight of the game. They are unbelieveable. The thing that shocked me the most was the cussing. I've never heard the F word so much. Some of it was humerous. Most of this game scared the hell out of me so it wasn't all funny. I suggest this game.
