"The best type of FPS.", It has gorgeous level designs that remind me of other games, like American McGee's Alice & Dungeon Siege II. It's also very ammusing; some of your targets are silly & not terribly bright, but they will bombard you in a patterend routine. The design is cartoony & will continue to look "good enough" 10 years down the line. Stay tuned for Serious Sam 3; supposedly comming in 2009.

I recommend configuring the controls so that the 2 main mouse buttons control the left & right of the camera, & the scroll up/scroll down control the up & down of the camera. Then assign the side mouse buttons to previous & next weapon, & clicking on the scroll button to fire.

The only thing I didn't like about the game was that I couldn't disable the subtitles on the level intro videos & that (except for the computer lady) all the women are voiced by men (which is probably supposed to be a joke).

"Green eggs and Sam", I really loved Second Encounter, so I persisted for several hours before
uninstalling. The game has such a kiddy feel you find yourself looking for
that purple dinosaur we all love to hate. Mood of the background music is
just wrong, the cut-scenes are often distracting, and the level design
is cramped compared to Second Encounter.
My thanks to Croteam for their earlier work - never died so many times
while laughing! But this...just gonna pass.

"Works with Vista and Lots of Fun", Works fine with my HP DV2500t VISTA laptop. My laptop has upgraded graphics & hard drive but is by no means a "gaming" machine.

SSII is lots of fun blowing up bad guys and stuff. Never takes itself too seriously - baddies are creatively funny and varied.

Nice soundtrack.

Only a couple bugs. One area - if you can't get out the exit door, you will have to redo the level (not all baddies always spawn that level but you are required to kill them before proceeding). And I have found that if your resolution changes - like hooking up an external monitor to your laptop - sometimes the save games get weird.

Cheap in the bargain bins. You won't regret the investment!

"A Shooter with a sense of Humor.", Serious Sam 2 is an excellent upgrade from Serious Sam,The Second Encounter. The graphics are grand improvement over SS-The 2nd Encounter.Mental^s evil minions are even more funny,& ridiculous compared to SS-The 2nd Encounter. Most shooters are frightening,grim,and bloody.Serious sam 2 adds humor to the game when having to kill the evil minions using a variety of Serious & outlandish weapons. All-in-all Serious Sam 2 is worth it in price,humor,etc.

"Fun game, but not as good as it's predecessors", I enjoyed Sam 2 a lot, but it lacks the spirit of the first two Sam games, and the voume of baddies, while present here, just doesn't seem as consistent and challenging as the first games.
I can live without the potty humor too.

"AWSOME !", The Graphics in this game are cool.
The code is tight, no glitches.
The action comes at you from all angles, but you have
the guns to take them on. There are many different kinds
of enemies. This is a hardcore, well designed FPS, but
don't expect a deep plot, becuase it's not meant to be
that kind of game. You can always download the free
demo & the demo patch first, which is what I did.

"Absolutely Brillant every moment!", What a fantastic game! Exciting, very funny, a great video experience as would be expected from the past Serious Sam games. This game should be required viewing for all those other so-called numbnuck software "developers" who produce the garbage all over the software shelves. Here's the new mantra, if it's Croteam, buy it!!!!

"Best Game Ever", Ever since the first Serious Sam game, i have been a huge fan. Then when i found out that they were comming out with a second one i just could not wait to get it! And when i finally did, i was amazed. The graphics in this game are just amazing (this is based on computer processor and graphic card, i have a AMD Athlon FX 4200+ and a ATI Radeon X800XL pci express and it runs perfectly!) For one thing instead of being in like those room and hallways and little outdoor place. Now your in like this hugh word that goes on forever. The whole game is different. in the 2nd one ur teamed up with little blue people that you have to help protect their village from new bigger more fun to kill monsters and robots. The game lasts pretty long even for pro gamers. The new guns u get are sweet too. they start off boring and dont really do anything. but as u advance u get cooler better weapons. You even get little things you can ride on or in. Like a giant glass ball with spikes on it, that allows you to drive into ur enemy and it kills them. Then you have like dinosaurs that take you place and spit fire at things. overall this came is like the best ever and really better than the first one. very happy its a must have even if you didnt get the first one!!!

"You want deep, meaningful game play...go play HL2!!!", This game is all about blowing s#!t up! I love it, just like I loved Second Encounter (for the record, Second Encounter was not the first game as indicated by an earlier review. Hence "Second" being in the title!) It's all about run and gun, and too many targets to count. Yes, the humor is juvenile, so what?! Funny is funny. The engine can push your system if it's not up to date, but what current title doesn't? There is no deep story here; you're the chosen one (maybe), you save the poor little whatever inhabits the planet you're on, you blow the bad guys to hell, repeat! This isn't as easy as it sounds though, at times the screen is covered in enemys. I have a midrange system; 2.8G P4, 2gigs of DDR, and a 6800GS vid card and the game flys. I'm sure the reviewers who complain of poor graphic in gameplay (the cutsceens don't look that great on any system) might need to upgrade video cards. The game is bright and cartoon-y, most likely to offset the massive violence you commit. It's not like F.E.A.R. headshot kinda violence, but you do kill alot of things. Lots of fun, but not much thinking. Circle-strafe and watch your ammo!!!
