"Some of the games didn't work.", The fourth game did not work. It kept asking me for words in the text of a game handbook that didn't come with the software. The Seventh game did not work. It kept telling me I didn't have 256 colors (which I do have) so it could not play the game.

The rest of the games work.

"again, terrible graphics", I purchased Space Quest, Kings Quest and Leisure Suit Larry for the husband. Like the others, Kings Quest was not enhanced in any way which is a shame. With all the technology today they could have done a little enhancement. In any event, the graphics look terrible on larger monitors and is simply not worth the money. Think twice before buying the game, if you don't mind very poor graphics (which by the way makes it difficult to play)then go for it.

"not capatible with SP2", I love adventure games and own all the originals from Sierra and LucasArts. But alot of them don't run under XP, so I was really glad to see this title in the store. But it only runs on my XP Service Pack 1 computer, which is six yrs. old and only used for the Internet. Why was it only made for SP1? Usually I have a hard time getting stuff to run on SP1 because its made for SP2. I have a SP1 computer, a SP2 computer and a Vista computer, and they're like three different operating systems. Maybe next time, I'll buy a Mac...

"WONDERFUL", I grew up playing King's Quest and this game has brought back so many wonderful memories. It works great on my computer and the manual comes on the CD that can easily be printed out. The graphics worked great on my computer and I have had no problems so far. I have played games 1-4, and am on game 5 right now. I highly recommend this product


"Not worth the trouble", I was so excited when I saw this... I used to love playing the King's Quest games back in the day, especially the ones with Rosella. So I was quite disappointed when I received this and some of the games didn't work, and one I actually started to play and it stopped me in the middle and asked for a password I didn't have because the game didn't come with a manual. One of the games loaded fine, but when I tried to manuever it wouldn't do anything, and when I tried to exit, it wouldn't close and I had to shut down the whole computer. So all in all, I am extremely disappointed with this game, especially since I mainly bought it for the Perils of Rosella and that is one of the ones that didn't work!

"review of king's quest collection", One of my favourite game ever, specially the king's quest VI. I have played this game 4 times and still like to play. What I like most in this gme is the narrator and the story.Once you begun, you don't want to stop.

"Not perfect, but still great fun!", This IS simply the old games formatted to work on XP, so don't expect anything new--but to those of us who are in it purely for the nostalgia, that's perfect! I had the compilations made for Windows 95, and was disappointed when they wouldn't work properly on XP, even after downloading numerous patches, so this was the perfect solution. There are a few minor annoyances--mostly visual ones, like a bit of screen flickering during animation-heavy sequences and the fact that the game screen doesn't QUITE align correctly on the monitor--but people who have missed the games and want to relive of a bit of nostalgia will be able to overlook these flaws.

Pros: They haven't reworked the games, so anyone who was a fan of the original will be getting the same game in this set. It installs all the games onto your computer at once, and installation is less tedious than older versions. The fact that the manuals are a built-in .pdf file is both a pro and a con--it's a pain to have to print them off if you want paper copies, but on the other hand it helps keep the cost down.

Cons: A bit of jerkiness and other minor visual issues shows that they haven't QUITE conquered modern video cards, but it's fine most of the time. And Kings Quest 5 STILL has no option to switch to text, despite our highest hopes.

"You can never go back (At least on XP)", I remember the King's Quest series with fondness. It was the first set of games I had for my first computer. I played it over and over again. I loved the fairy tale aspect.

I was ecstatic to get it when Sierra released it for XP systems. But I just wish they had actually fixed the games to work with today's graphics cards and processors. Having my graphics at the lowest level, having to play in a window instead of full screen, having the timing go way too fast for the game (I don't know how to describe it, but a character has to carry a firecracker to a tomb. But my processer is so fast, the character would blow up immediately each time she picked it up). It was all too much and I wound up uninstalling it. There's only so much frustration I can take.

I loved the games, when I had an older computer. Now, they just don't work for me. They may work for others, but for me, King's Quest will have to stay a memory.

"These games are absolutely great.", Anyone who played these as a kid will have fond memories when revisiting them, anyone who is now a kid will think this is absolutely stupid.

"Kings Quest Compilation....just the old one on a CD rather than a floppy!", I expected this to be the old game stories, but re-done with nicer graphics. Unfortunately it was only the really old Apple Computer games, which can't even use a mouse, and require you to write in what you want the character to do. Plus, it takes forever for the guy/girl to even move across the screen. It didn't say Anywhere on the box that it was the old game just put on a CD. I still have those on floppy discs somewhere. I wouldn't have had to buy this if I just wanted the old ones!! Stacy >^.,.^<
