"Star Trek Collection"
I've enjoyed having these high-quality widescreen DVD copies of the the Star Trek movies -- especially since these kinds of movies have always been visually intense. They look & sound really good on my home theater.

"A Must Have Movie Series"
I read a dozen reviews before I bought this set. I won't go into the good and bad of each movie. They're all good in their own way. If you have any interest at all in Star Trek, it's simply great fun to watch them in succession. I've made it through the first eight and none had any defects. I have yet to explore the special features DVD's but I suspect they will be loaded with interesting and fun extra info.

The only bad I must agree with is the packaging. The outer box graphics are simple, but nice. Unfortunately, the box is too light weight. After all, there's 10 double wide DVD boxes to hold together here. The individual boxes are well made but the lack of booklets is somewhat disappointing too.

Overall I'm very happy to own this set and glad it was even available. Can't beat the price either (it was 150$ at the ST Experience in Vegas).

"An Old Trekie's Comments"
For years I followed Star Trek. I think I was initially drawn to the series by Spock's physical appearance (those wonderful slanty eye brows and sexy ears)! Here's a complete set of all the movies that literally sprang out of the TV series, ...all in one place...easy to get your anxious fingers on & pop into your DVD player...instant gratification.

I had to have this set because I'm getting along in years and I find my memories of Star Trek getting fuzzy ("IT HAPPENS" as Judy DeNutta cites). At any time of my choosing, I can climb aboard the Star Ship Enterprise, make a salami sandwich in the gally, and sit along side Capt. Kirk and crew, cruising the Universe, going where there is mystery, aliens who remind me of my old boy friends, and whatever else comes down the pike.

If you are a "Trekie", you need this set. If you don't have this set, you are not a true "trekie", and your identification with Star Trek is fraudulent! Amazon can save you. Order the set NOW! Thanks for reading the rantings of an old Trekie. Live well and prosper.

"Trekkies Collection"
I've watched Star Trek since the begining and seen all the movies on vhs,and almost wore them out watching them over and over....I just got the S.T. dvd collection, and am sooooooooooo pleased with the color and clarity of the picture and knowing that longivity wise these disks will "Boldly Go Where No Disk Has Gone Before"........and I can share them with my grandkids.......buy it and keep it forever........

"A Great Collection", In one collection a viewer can follow the changes in the Star Trek cast and production staff as the stories evolve from the original cast to the Next Generation crew. And the second disc accompanying each feature video gives the reader the perspectives of cast and production staff after the films had been made. The collection is a pleasure for long time Star Trek fans as a capsule history of the Star Trek phenomenon. For a younger audience it is a look at what intrigued many of us for so many years. When the production staff lost its way - and it did, the story lines became ordinary and the shows died. However, that does not diminish the quality of the ten films. With any luck, the upcoming film can recapture what Gene created: A show with a hopeful theme - Humans can continue to grow and improve.

"Star Trek is the Bomb", I not a Trekkie nerd but the movies and the T.V. series makes for great viewing!

"Fantastic set", Great set of DVD's. Well worth it at the price. I've had a lot of fun rewatching these movies, and the bonus features are fantastic.

My one gripe is that on just a couple of the DVD's, some of the bonus features are very scattered; some of it doesn't really apply to the movie. I noticed it the most in Generations.

Fantastic set, none the less. Full stars.

Star Trek: The Motion Picture: An interesting plot, but takes itself too seriously to be a fun film. (***)

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan: Very emotional drama, character development, and intense action make this a solid film in step with the original Star Trek "cannon". (*****)

Star Trek III: The Search for Spock: What the film lacks in overall plot it makes up for in emotional tension. (****)

Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home: A comedic genius; light-hearted all around and full of laughs. (*****)

Star Trek V: The Final Frontier: The "search for God" plot proves to be unfruitful, while the main villain does not create credible tension. (**)

Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country: A sort of futuristic re-telling of the United States/Russia relationship that hits all the right buttons to create high drama. (*****)

Star Trek Generations: Filled with iconic moments, but underachieves in the execution of nearly all of them. (***)

Star Trek: First Contact: An action-packed adventure film that exploits the Picard/Borg relationship adeptly and uses the Next Generation ensemble crew to their fullest. (*****).

Star Trek: Insurrection: Despite delving into races never before seen on the show, this film combines a sound human-interest plot with the returning Next Generation ensemble cast, who are great as usual. (****).

Star Trek: Nemesis: This film is the reason why the Next Generation cast was put to pasture, due to contrived drama and weak plotlines. (*).

"I love this DVDs!!!", I love Star Trek, I'm a great fan! I always wanted to buy this set... and I finally did. The DVD's content is awesome! Lots of extras!

Some Cons... Only 4 DVDs are stamped with images, the rest of them are painted in grey/silver. I would like the box to be more resistant, made in a harder material, but it's ok, and it looks great. Also would be nice some booklets, or inlays... the doble sized dvd boxes doesn't make any sense. Because the two DVDs are located on the same side.

Overall, the packaging could be better, but the DVDs are simply great. A must have!

"Fun!", I got this for my husband's birthday and he is really enjoying it! We've really enjoyed watching the second DVD with the special features and have decided to watch the special features first (since we've seen the movies, albeit a while ago) for the last few that we haven't yet viewed. My husband is very happy that I got the complete set of Star Trek movies, versus the ones with the original cast only.

"Great gift for the Trekkie in your life", Bought this as a gift for my Star Trek fanatic dad. It's an awesome gift because it's all the Star Trek movies in one great set. Some you can't find or can't find for a reasonable price, so this set is great and convenient for the gift giver. Good quality picture and sound; He loved it!

"Star Trek Movies", The DVD movies were of excellent quality, both sound and picture. Since I had already seen all the movies, that was not an issue. Mostly I wanted them for ease of viewing and good sound and picture quality. I got what I wanted and what I expected.

"All Things Star Trek in One Convenient Box", This review is short and to the point - if you are looking to obtain all the Star Trek movies, this is the way to do it. It is cost-effective and you get all the Star Trek movies made to date. I haven't looked at the second disc of any of the movies, but they all come with the main movie disc and a second features disc. I bought it for the movies themselves and didn't care about special features discs. Each movie comes in its own DVD case. At $7.20 per movie, the price and convenience of an all-in-one set is hard to beat.

"Gift for a friend", This was a gift for a friend. She was absolutely ecstatic that it included all the movies up to Nemesis. She told me that the quality was great and the fact that it included the Director's cuts was pretty cool.
