"bait and switch"
maybe it's just me, but when i bought this, i specifically bought a Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse 5000. What i got was a Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 2.0, even though the packaging says Wireless 5000. Maybe it's just the same mouse, with a fancier name, and it works just fine, but the model of my new mouse, 1007, and the label on the bottom of the mouse, are exactly the same model number and label of my previous Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 2.0. Again, it works great, just don't tinkle on my boots and tell me it's rain. it just seems dishonest.

"great wireless mouse"
This is a great wireless mouse for people with big hands, like me.

The selling point of this mouse is its "long battery life", I don't know how to shut it down but it's been working for 2 months now.

I highly recommend Microsoft product.

I love the ergonomic fit to this mouse. I gave it four stars only because every once in awhile the mouse will stop responding and I will have to re-synch it. I bought it for my desktop computer. Overall, great product.

"Designed for comfortable left or right hand use" has no right being on this page. This mouse is CLEARLY for use with a RIGHT HAND !! You don't even have to pick it up...just LOOK at it. Why play head games with your customer? Change the text. Simple as that. Do it. Now.

"Nice feel except for the scroll wheel"
If you are used to being able to accurately scroll a sreen up or down one or two lines, forget about this mouse. Most times, moving the scroll wheel a bit does nothing, until you move it again, then it jumps up or down half a page and overshoots. I tried all settings in the driver to no avail. The pointer/cursor, though, moves very accurately, why not the scroll wheel too? Very annoying behavior that I cannot seem to get used to. Hopefully an updated driver will fix this SOON!
I like the heavy feel of the mouse. I use a wired Dell/Logitech at work that is too light and has a cheesy feel, but the scroll wheel is accurate. This one feels nice, but then, I also have big hands. Battery life seems not to be an issue. Been using it since Christmas.

"Love this mouse", I love this mouse! My husband upgraded to a gaming mouse so I took this to work with me. There is only one thing I don't like and that is the material on the side of the mouse. Not sure what it is but it tends to collect fuzz and dirt and when you try to clean it, it seems to get worse.

"High Quality User Friendly Mouse", I utilize this mouse everyday at work and have also purchased about 8 additional mice for other employees in our office. This mouse is completely dummy proof-just plug it in and go. The battery life also lasts much longer than other wireless models we use in the office. I rarely utilize the side buttons much, but the added features are pretty neat if you're into gadets. This is not a problem, at all. I read the reviews here prior to purchasing it and some of these people will quibble about everything. I wanted a mouse that worked good, was comfortable and did everything it's supposed to do. I got all I asked for and then some. No, it doesn't have a click wheel, thank goodness! If you want a click wheel, get a Logitech (you'll get the click wheel and all the problems with SetPoint to go along with it) I'm a no-nonsense kinda guy. I got the things I wanted, I could care less what it's name is. It works great and bottom line? That's all that matters!

Read this reviews before You buy...

"ms wireless optical mouse 5000 - negative review", I found this mouse virtually useless given the graphics paces I needed to put it through. Aside from very frustrating inaccuracy, the thumb buttons
are placed too high,a completely inergonomic setup. When the hand is resting on a mouse, the thumb naturally rests inferiorly, on the desktop surface, not up at the top edge of the mouse. Additionally, it is extremely awkward to depress the thumb buttons without inadvertantly depressing the buttons on the opposite side. Finally, the clicking itself
was not smooth.

"Big "G" Wireless Mouse Review", I ordered the Microsoft Wireless Mouse to free up my desktop of inconvenoent wire that restricted my mouse movement. The product works great! I would not ever go back and there have been no peformance issues.
