"Sacred Gold"
This game is great for the RPG player. It is somewhat close to Diablo. If you like that you will like this!

"hack 'n slash fun beyond Diablo II"
I have to say that Sacred is one of the best action/RPG games out there. This is my favorite genre of games to play and I own many, many hack 'n slashers like this one,(including Diablo of course) and with the exception of Divine Divinity, this is my favorite one to play.I'm sure many people will think it is sacrilige to say this game is better than Diablo II but it really comes close. Especially now that this game is super cheap ('cause it's kind of old) it is a great value. Go out and buy this game, you won't regret it. (I would like to finish by saying Divine Divinity is THE best action/RPG, and it's only 10 bucks!!)

"Excellent"
This is an older game, but it is a lot of fun to play. It levels the character easily and provides well balanced challenges for the character.

"A true rival to Blizzard's Diablo"
This game is amazing and I never tire of playing it. I found the original "Sacred" for $9.99 at Walmart and decided to try it out. I was not disappointed. This game has so much going on. There are quests, sub quests and seven characters to try out including a battle mage, a dwarf and a dameon. I've played as each and since the gameplay changes slightly with each character I have yet to finish an entire game. This is why I love it. You don't have to follow the quests exactly and this can mean loads of fun. The overall world of Ancara is so big I wonder if I'll ever explore it all.
Try out "Saced" Gold it has both the Ancaria and underworld games and you can import characters. It never gets old and the game itself is beautifully designed.

"Better than Diablo II"
At first this game seems like a Diablo II clone. But it's much more than that and MUCH superior IMHO to the Diablo series.
The controls are almost completely mouse-driven, and warning for Vista users: you need to add the program to your Data Execution Prevention exceptions list for it to run.
In this game, you pick from one of eight character classes/races, such as dwarf, gladiator (yawn)...but hey, there are much cooler ones than Diablo contains such as Seraphim (fallen angel), Vampiress (no gender choice), and Daemon. Yeah, I'm kickin' it as a Daemon now, the villagers scream and flee when I enter villages. This does not stop the main point of the game, which is the fulfillment of quests. In that sense, it reminds me more of a GBA (Game Boy Advance) game such as Golden Sun than Diablo II, which is a bit more free form.
And there IS online play, just like Diablo II. (Good luck trying to find an original Diablo online game you can join).
One of the things that makes it stand out from Diablo also is its extensive use of true-to-life landscape features...such as rivers, cliffs...it's basically National Geographic out there. (I.E. it can get annoying since it seems to be a bit over done by the game's map makers).
I recommend this game WAY over Diablo II, which is pretty much akin to me renouncing eating food to live entirely on granules of sand. (I'm a die-hard Diablo II fanatic...and my sense of humor is "dry and sarcastic").
The price is ridiculously low; I would buy two copies and donate one to a fellow PC gamer in my life, if not three* copies of it.

What our customer's say!

"Isometric Excitement", This game is Isometric-style, which means sort of a helicopter viewing angle . Other games with this camera perspective are Diablo II and Age of Empires 2. You can zoom in and out with the mouse wheel. There are 7 character classes to choose from. Seraphim(angelic), Battlemage, Daemon, Dwarf, Gladiator(tank), Wood Elf, and Dark Elf. The Daemon and Dwarf were added by the Underworld expansion. The gameplay involves close-range, ranged, and magic-based combat. All 7 classes can do melee and ranged, with some better at one or the other. Magic also includes skills, and all classes have skills. Most have some magic too. There is an NPC in the game called the Combo Master. He allows you to make combos- you select 4 skills, a symbol to go with them, pay him the gold needed, and he makes you a combo. You can then use the symbol and execute those 4 skills in a row. The game allows you to ride a horse, as well as engage in combat of all 3 types from it. There are all kinds of different horses in the game, and the better the horse, the more expensive it is to buy. You can also find them in the wilderness, and I hear there are exotic(read: possibly monstrous) ones out there. Who wouldn't want to ride a Nightmare? :) The game consists of wandering around and doing quests, both main and side. Money flows easily. You can make a fortune in 30 minutes, then spend( or blow) it all at the merchant. The gear all tend to have those long names, like Fiery Blade of the Enchanter, that sort of thing. There's a lot less vanilla gear than magical, which can get boring. If they're all magical, it can be hard to tell which one is better. Interestingly, the Charisma stat affects both poison damage and trading prices. Also, every time you level, from what I can tell, every stat increases by 1 point with 1 extra left over to put in a stat of your choice. All in all, I liked the game, because it has what I look for in an RPG- excitement and replayability.

"No Key Code", I know sacred is a fun game but this dvd didnt contain a key code. You have to have a a keycode for sacred and sacred underworld to play this game on multiplayer!

Where is my key code???

"Pretty Darned Good Game.", Sacred Gold is an OK game, with vast areas to explore and unique monsters to hack and slash. Gameplay gets somewhat repetative, and many of the secondary quests are lame, like searching for cookies for some old lady. The graphics are good, especially for an older PC like mine.

My main complaint is with armor and weapon selection. Many games will let you try out equipment before you buy, to make sure that you're upgrading your character and not downgrading them. Some games even allow you to mouse-over equipment or show you a comparison to see what effects the new item will have on your characters attributes. There is no such animal in this game. You do the math here, and it's not so easy. If you buy a new expensive sword for instance, believing that it will enhance your character, and you're wrong.... you're out a lot of money. The sale price back to the merchant is now a fraction of what you just paid for it. This really lowers the fun value for me. That's why only 4 stars for this game. I'm used to Dungeon Siege 2 I guess...

Also, the NPC and quest text seems to have been written by a group of 5 year olds, with some bad "speling" and "gramer" every once in awhile. Example; "I learnt how to use a sord..." It's kind of funny when you read it, and I guess humor is always good :)

However, all that being said, the game is very fun to play and for the most part, I've really enjoyed playing it. I hop onto the back of a horse and ride to unknown lands killing off bad guys along the way. The Gold Edition is priced right, and you'll find the game to be a great way to kill some time. Works great with Windows Vista Home Premium. Try it out for yourself!

"Very nice", I'm a big fan of Diablo 2, but I decided to give it up after 6 years. Sacred and Titan Quest are the closest things to it that I could find.

"Customer Service", The game in itself is entertaining, however it did not come with CD keys, nor can they be found on the CD's, they are necessary to play in the multiplayer mode. I have written various emails to Ascaron, the makers of the game, in order to solve the problem, however help and/or solutions have been non-existent. Reccomendation: If you want to play multiplayer, look for a different game.

Read this reviews before You buy...

"fun with pixels", great game if you like the diablo style RPG's than this game is great, its one draw back is the back drop graphics are sub par and the game glitches often. overall i say its a good game for hack and slash fans

"More than I expected", Game is a great enhancement to Sacred. The new storyline is interesting and the clues are challenging to find. Opponents are tough in the Underworld. I would wait until level 40 rather than 29 to go there.

"Sacred Review", I found the game fun, ive only played it in Bronze mode so far but i have leveled my char to 55 so far. ill do Silver next.

"Sacred in General", The game Sacred was, in my opinion, a very boring game. I bought this game because of the good reviews it had gotten and how it was much related to Diablo II: LOD. I used to play Diablo II when I was about 10 so I decided to buy the game. I wouldn't be able to relate Sacred to Diablo II in anyway. I only played single player so I am not sure about the multiplayer game play for Sacred, but after playing the single player I don't think I would want to anyway. I may not like this game because I have gotten used to Guild Wars, but Sacred it not at all as fun as Diablo II.

"Strong game - so-so documentation - OK support", This game has the overall feel of Diablo, but is far more complex. The main attraction is that the world is not linear. Whereas, in Diablo, Dungeon Siege, etc. there are levels and paths with set boundaries and the adventure moves along them, in Sacred the main quest gives a structure to the game but the world is wide open. Your character will warn you if you stray into an area where the baddies are just too bad for your character. You can still go there, just have a good SAFE save game handy.

Deviating from the main quest to find and complete sub-quests is encouraged, actually, it is virtually required. If you hurry through the main quest you will wind up under armored, under armed, and under skilled to meet the challenges of the latter parts of the main quest. So, go save a few peasants, kill a few rabid wolves, save a village or two from an orc invasion, whatever to build up your character so that you can challenge bad guys with some level of confidence.

Gold includes Underworld and Sacred Plus so you can go online without much hassle over upgrades.

The documentation with the game could be alot better. There are obviously informational things going on in the game that you don't know the meaning of the symbology and it is never explained. This doesn't interfere with game play.

Email requests for support are answered pretty promptly with good answers.

As it is a 2004 game there are not a lot of online players.

Sacred 2 is due to come out late in '08 if I rememeber. I like the game enough I'll undoubtedly buy it.
