"Again, value for your dollar!"
I purchased this along with the 50 Mystery set and got free shipping. For $34 I received 100 movies to watch in my retirement spare time. I love old movies, and some of these are newer but are interesting. Again, some clinkers but boxed nicely and a good value! I'll be looking at other sets in the future!

"ITS JUST FINE"
IT'S WAS OK. IT'S NOT AS GOOD AS THE HORROR MOVIE COLLECTION BUT WORTH WHILE TO SEE IT.

"On a 1 to 10 scale, this collection is rated: 4.7"
(AMAZON rating: 2½ stars)

SUSPENSE CLASSICS 50 MOVIE PACK is a nicely mixed collection of lesser known thrillers, both domestic and imported. Half of these are foreign productions, while a small percentage were originally made-for-TV. Video quality of MILL CREEK ENTERTAINMENT products tends to be good and for the price you definitely can't go wrong with their SUSPENSE CLASSICS set.

The current average 1 to 10 scoring for these 50 titles (as voted on by users of a film data website) is: 4.7.

Program list is alphabetized and includes individual movie ratings, original titles (in parentheses), years of release (and country, if other than USA) as well as principal actors.

"suspense classics 50 moviepack collection"
have seen the 4 movies and liked three out of four, judging by quality of contents, picture and sound...and NO commercials...

"I won't resell this because..."
I would not want anyone else to be subjected to these choices of movies. Upon afterthought of when I read the reviews before I made the purchase, I began to wonder if maybe some hadn't been paid. The sellers(Mill Creek)could certainly have offered ten people a hundred dollars each + or - to write a seemingly regular person review, but make it reasonably positive enough to cause people to try out the DVD set. Hence, a simple $1000 advertising budget. So without emotion or fanfare, I will itemize my experience with this set.

I saw 41 of the 50 movies. The nine I did not see were because the write-up of them already told me the content was not something that I wanted to fill my mind with. Most of them were European/Italian made. Out of those, about 1/2 dozen had such bad sound I was unable to understand them. (If just the sound had been fixed a little, I would have been willing to pay a couple dollars more.) Three were so hokey, I did not continue viewing them. Four had content that was on the verge of sick. And the most surprising of all, ten had nudity from complete to partial. For those who value the beauty and sanctity of the created body and its intimacy in marraige, and prefer not to degrade it by exposure and abuse, this information would be appreciated. For those who don't care, so be it. That leaves seventeen that range from bearable to a few good. Even with the good ones, however, the sound was not great.

Now for the itemization of costs. New, at $19 (including S&H), 50 movies would be around $.38 each. Sorting through the trashy ones to get the possible 17 viewable movies makes each one around $1.11. I won't argue that is an okay price, but to find the 17, who wants to fill their mind with what I've just done? I wish I'd never seen the images I did, and I did turn off several after I found out what they were about, but that did not take care of having to be surprised and see them in the first place. That is why I will not resell this set. I am now going to throw the entire set into the garbage

What our customer's say!

"Suspense", Heavy on acting but light on content.
The documentary on Sobibor is a gem.

"50 Flicks of Public Domain Suspense", Suspense Classics is a collection of 50 suspense movies that have only one thing in common: they are all public domain and as such it is possible for them to be presented in highly affordable collections. I paid $16.47 for my set and that comes down to less than 40 cents per movie. The way that movie tickets cost nowadays, you really cannot complain about this collection.

This deal is even better when you consider that many of the movies in this collection are available as individual movie DVD's at prices of $5 and higher. Many of the movies in this collection are presented in better condition than they are from other DVD companies.

All in all, a great deal for the money.

"50 Movies - Suspense!", A great deal of fun in this. Some classic movies, many I had never seen. Not the big name movies, but with many big name stars. Overall, a great package for the price.

"Awful!", I have not watched all of these movies, but considering the ones I have seen so far I don't know if I have the stomach for them. I am old enough to have seen many of these when they were released and now I know why I never heard of them. A big waste of time!

"The "suspense" is finding out what this collection contains!", I have several other "movie packs" and have been pleased with them. This box not only does not contain very good movies, it has quite a few R-rated movies (which I don't watch). Now, I realize that most people have no problem watching R-rated movies, but don't you think it should be mentioned somewhere on the box? None of the other movie packs have R-rated stuff.

"Suspense Classics 50 Movie Pack Collection", 50 DVD for less than $15? How can one complain. I bought this item with the full understanding that the DVDs were not remastered. The picture quality on some was poor and some good. However they are all viewable and quite entertaining. I have not seen all of them but from the few I have seen, I would recommend this product to anyone who likes pure black and white suspense from the past but is willing to overlook some flaws in picture quality.

"Suspense Classics 50 Movie Pack Collection", This was a gift for our son and he was extremely happy with them and has enjoyed watching them. We would certainly recommend for others who enjoy old classic suspense movies.

"For Suspense Lovers and Others", Good selection of Suspense Classics. I am now waiting for collection #2.

"Intense Suspense", Just got this Suspense pack, good collection of films. Many well known actors, and movies from the 70's and 80's.
Transfers look better too, not so murky like other 50 packs I have Chilling and Horror packs.

Just watched "The Swap", intense movie,Robert DeNiro has a brief part, (taken from an earlier film and spliced in)but it had to be made in 79 not 69 like it says, they drive a 79 Mustang!

Night of the Sharks has Treat Williams and Antonio Vargas.

Julie Darling, good suspense here, snakes, guns, hot sex, jealous daughter and Nestles Quick, 3 scoops not 2!!!

The Seducers/aka Death Game; wow crazed psycho women ! Sondra Locke! females nude, torture, mayhem, a guys worse nightmare! watch out for SPCA vans!!!

The Woman Hunter, about a woman who thinks she is being stalked, (Barbara Eden) but finds out at the end with a twist what really is going on!

Escape from Sobibor, a nazi prisoner camp that the prisoners decide to try to escape from, very powerful movie.

Born To Win, interesting movie that takes place in NYC early 70's, about a guy who just wants to get ahead of others in the drug culture scene with better dope. It stars George Segal with smaller roles by Karen Black,Robert Deniro and Hector Elizondo, not like the listing on the box George Segal is the bigger star here not DeNiro.

A Killing Affair, wow this one is good right to the end. Intense movie about a drifter who knows too much and has plenty of stories to tell.
Peter Weller (Robocop) is the drifter and John Glover (Lionel Luthor on Smallville) is the town preacher. Set in the 40's in West Virginia. Music by John Barry (007 music). Watch out for the wild dogs!

The Manipulator: strange pop star/stunt man (think 70's dinner music) who is set up with too many conspiracies to confuse him about the producer's daughter, who he wants to marry, and the mob(?) to get him out of the way(?) and takes place in South Africa.
Mickey Rooney is not in this movie as listed unless I didn't catch it right, must be a wrong Titled Film, this has Stephen Boyd and Rex Maynard in it.

A Tattered Web: this is a good one with Lloyd Bridges as a good cop gone bad. He worries too much about Tina, his daughter, which causes all sorts of problems for him.

Crime Boss, a good one about taking over the mob, with Antonio Sabato Sr. and then half way thru Telly Savalas takes over the movie. Good story and everytime Telly Savalas is in a movie he steals the show with his characters, just so good to watch.

Very good movie selection in this 50 pack.

"Some surprising good (Grade B) films", I was not expecting as many okay films in this set, but I got it because I recognized a few things. Surprisingly, I found more things to like than I expected. Of course, there are flaws that you can see in the film transfer to DVD, but I found most things watchable.

I have several other 50-Pack sets and they are all about the same as to quality of reproduction and Grade B/C nature of the films. However, what's interesting about many of them is seeing actors in these earlier/older films who achieved later "fame" in other films or TV.
