"Controls not explained!", Let me start off with the good things:
-the graphics are phenomenal
-you can choose your character
Now, the bad things:
-unlike the other HP games, you CANNOT wander around the Hogwarts grounds, which I enjoyed.
-The mouse has NO action whatsoever, not even in the main menu!
-I get stuck on so many levels, because most controls are NOT EXPLAINED! Not even in the manual!
-your "friends" (whoever you're not playing with) are so slow in following you and are almost always occupied with sneezing or wandering around when you need help so badly!
-I tried to install this game for one full year and never got it to install until I did some tricky things

Overall, I would have rated this game five stars if the bad things were fixed.
I think that EA Games was just porting over a Play Station game (I can tell by the graphics style) and not bothering to make it anymore convenient. EA did a poor job here. I would sort of recommend this game.

"The worst. Period.", I LOVED the first four (SS, CoS, TPoA, and QWC) games.
The first one was a little too easy (I beat it in three days after some practice), the second one being a bit too hard (I have a fear of fire snails), the Third one and Quiddich World Cup being perfect.

When I bought the first game I was expecting another GREAT game. But here is what I got: graphics that were grainy, NO exploring, and no fun trunks with goodies. it was a HARD game, and i'm still stuck on the second task. I can't believe I decided to buy PetVet later because I wanted this. Here's hoping you can explore in the fifth one.

"The WORST game I ever wasted money on!", I wish there was a ZERO in the fun/overall ratings choices, because I would have given it a zero in both categories. It was a total waste of my money.

I got it because I liked the other Harry Potter games so much ... MISTAKE. It is NOTHING like the other Harry Potter games. I should have read the many BAD reviews of this game first!

This game is entirely linear - you cannot go wandering around the grounds and explore, as in the other Harry Potter EA games. The characters do not interact well, in fact when the three characters are supposed to be casing a spell together the other characters are often otherwise occupied. Their tasks are obscure and not well defined.

This game was not made for a PC. Further it was not made for anyone who is casually gaming, or in it for the fun of exploring the Harry Potter world. The game 'mood' (environment) is dark and unpleasant. The only good thing I can say about the game is that the graphics are well done.


"challenging for wrong reasons", i have the previous 3 games the first 2 on PC and the 3rd on Xbox. they were all excellent games, the 3rd being a little too easy, so i bought this expecting a good game. the only good thing here is the graphics. the most challening part of the game is controls. spell casting is a nightmare, i always forget which button is for what, very linear gameplay. Don't buy this save your money and watch and/or read the book. Hopfully EA fixes these problems for Order of the Phoenix

"Deeply Disappointed", I am big Harry Potter fan and i loved the previous games in the series.So naturally i thought i'd get another worthwhile fun experience with Goblet of Fire but sadly i was wrong. One thing i really hated about this game were the cut scenes, they are just a bunch of static pictures instead of a video. Plus you never get to see other Hogwarts students other than Ron, Harry and Hermione, in my opinion it makes it feel as if you're the only students in the school. Lastly there is absolutely no exploring Hogwarts castle or its grounds, the game is a very linear experience. It's obvious that EA was trying to cash into the Harry Potter craze by producing this game with the least bit of effort to make as much money a possible. DON'T BUY THIS GAME YOU'RE BETTER OFF WITH THE PREVIOUS GAMES.

"Not that good.", You're not able to go through the castle and other places, just the levels, so it's not that fun. It's not that good, you get very busy playing it, but, well...
I think that the other games are better, at least you get to go through Hogwarts. Better buy another game, and believe me, it's true!I have the entire collection of games from Harry Potter, and this is the worst, you don't even play quidditch, the entire game is based on levels.It has good graphics, PERFECT GRAPHICS, but they should do this game better. In my opinion, Thethird is the best, but the first has horrible graphics.

"Love Harry Potter games", My 7 year old son is crazy for this game, he wants to come back and get to the next level all the time.


"Beware", This is an awesome game but, its controls are terible! I am giving you a warning if you like your character walking in reverse as you point it forward or other stuff like this buy this game. If you dont, dont buy this game!!!!!! Otherwise, it's awesome!!!!

"Wizards' 3-on-3", The game play on GOBLET matches the earier games, as does the graphics.
The most unique feature is also the greatest weakness of the game: Multiple-player game play.

In Harry 1 & 2 you are able to play Harry.
In Harry 3 yor are able to switch from Harry to his wizard cohorts

Now you and you're wizard cohorts can play together (except during Triwizard Challenges in which Harry has to go-it-alone.

This mult-player game play can slow down progress with less experienced player in the mix, but it can be plenty of fun otherwise.

The BB Every-Flavour Beans are a game staple ofcourse, but going through Mad-Eye's lessons on the castle's exterior can literially get circular.

The Tri-Wizard Cup is the focus, with little nod to the Quidditch World Cup (much like the movie version), but the Quidditch World Cup PC Game already covered Cup-play anyway.


Good game, just don't over pay the Muggles for it.

"It's not THAT bad, guys. ", Being a avid player of the past three harry potter games, i was so excited when this one came out. At first, like most of the reviewers on here, i was disappointed, but later after mastering the controls and getting a little into the game i really began to enjoy it.

i love the 3d style and any seasoned gamer won't have a problem with the change of perspective. The graphics are 20Xs better than the Azkaban game and I love how one has the ability to team up with the other two characters.

I only have two bones to pick with the game. First off, the lack of freedom of exploration around hogwarts. That was one of my favorite aspects of the previous games and what made them better than the average "movie game." I think this exclusion by the programmers is one of the main reasons why so many people were disappointed with it.

The second thing that disappointed me was the shortness of it! The other games had hours upon hours of play time and there were mini quests that one could do. In this game there are mini-quests but they are pretty easy to comeplete(dragon statutes, water taps, mushrooms, dark detectors, mini shields, disappearing card). It seems like they were planning to do way more with it because there are only like 6 or 7 levels in the whole thing (three of them being the 3 triwizard tasks).

Hopefully they will take into account the two above things in the upcoming Order of the Phoenix game.
