"Bully the Bullies" Bully is a pretty fun video game. The playing format is similar to Grand Theft Auto III and those after it. Your character is pretty much free-roaming in between missions, there are a certain number of missions until you complete the storyline, there are side missions and collectibles in order to achieve 100% completion, and you have to complete certain missions in order to open new areas of the game.
The main premise is that you play a tough kid named Jimmy Hopkins who has been dumped at Bullworth Academy by his mom and brand new (rich) step-dad while they go on their honeymoon...for a year. While at Bullworth, you quickly discover that there are very divisive cliques throughout the school. You have the jocks, the preps, the nerds, the greasers, and the townies. You just want to get on the good side of all of them and get them all to stop fighting so your school experience goes smoother. All of this while trying to pass your classes and not get kicked out of the school.
This objective is somewhat hard to complete, however, because of sociopathic nut job named Gary. Gary's sole mission is to improve his standing in society and to piss on everybody else. It's his opinion that nobody is smarter than him and nobody is better than him. Everybody is there simply for his amusement, like chess pieces on a playing board.
So your ultimate goal is truly to defeat Gary. Once you defeat Gary and make nice with the leaders of the major cliques, your time at Bullworth is much simpler.
I haven't hit 100% completion yet, but I did complete the storyline at about 76% completion. Now I'm finishing all the bike and go cart races, and I'm trying to find the last of the G&G cards, rubber bands, and lawn gnomes. This can get a little tedious once you've passed all the classes and completed the storyline, so I would suggest getting a walkthrough that lists the locations of collectibles so you can make sure you collect them all in between missions. If you want 100% completion, that's the best way to get it.
"Totally Fun, brings back memories" The storyline kinda reminds me of high school in the early 90's. As a teen worried about popularity and standing up for yourself w/o worrying about fatal violence. Your the new kid trying to fit in and beating the clicks.
The game play is really easy and I like the fact that time is a factor to determine gamplay. Also, THe seasons change and there are holidays in the game that affect the game Holloween and Xmas. It gives the game some variety and different experince. Cool weapons, like the sling shot, eggs and bottle rockets; things I use to use. There are also some extras like boxing matches, carnival games and shopping for outfits. Many mini challenges in the game.
Humerious experince of what highschool life once was.
"THE BEST GAME EVER!!!" o my god i dont even know where to start it was soo freakin sweet!well first off its from 'rockstar' games who as you may alredy know brought us the amazing games GTA or grand theft auto.this game is basicly a kid version of grand theft auto.highly recomanded from a 12 year old gammer!
"Dog Eat Dog. (OR, Canis Canem Edit if you want to be Fancy.)" I only heard about this game a few months ago, but when I saw that it was made by Rockstar. It was a definite must buy, as I have enjoyed their previous releases, all the Grand Theft Auto, The Warriors etc. But even though as a fifty year old gamer, I found the main missions a bit on the TOO easy side. The protaganist you play is Jimmy Hopkins a fifteen year old from a disharmonious family background, who's intention is to rise to the top of the pile by any means he can. Not surprisingly as the story takes place in a private school the violence is toned down compared to the, "GTA" franchise. (Catapults and stink bombs instead of shotguns and Uzi's.) The hardest part's in the game in my opinion are the mini missions you need to complete in order to acheive 100%. Some of the mini missions include bicycle and go-kart races in which you must come first. Chemistry class is a quick reaction time test where you have to correctly press the corresponding button within a short period of time. A bit like the old "simon says" game. I found chemistry very frustrating. And completeing all the photos in your yearbook helps towards 100% completion too. Overall opinion, a enjoyable experience with some replay value. But for all you youngun's out there you may find it too easy. (The game is called Canis Canem Edit in the UK. In case anyone's wondering where I got the title.)
"Awesome" You're in complete control what you do. There isn't many restrictions, for a game. The one thing that is a downside is that the prefects only go after you when you're skipping....-sigh- why only me when half the school is skipping? Anyways, awesome game! Completely worth every penny!

What our customer's say!
"Another great game by Rockstar!!", I have to admit that I'm not a big gamer. I buy a new game every couple of months and I play for a couple of hours a week whenever I'm bored. A few months ago I was searching for a new game to buy and I decided to pick up Bully after seeing that Rockstar makes the game. I've been a fan of Rockstar after playing Grand Theft Auto and The Warriors so I was crossing my fingers that I'd like this one too. From my 5 star rating you can see that I was thrilled.
Let's talk about the positives first. For those who have no idea what the game is about, basically the character that you play (Jimmy) is sent to Bullworth Academy where he must take classes and participate in random missions. The more you complete, the more items/social skills/places you unlock.
There's a TON to do in this game. I've played for hours and hours and I've only completed half of the game thus far. Because this game is set at a school, Jimmy obviously has to take classes and you must use your controller to get him to pass each class. Like all schools, there are different groups of kids (the geeks, the jocks, the "greasers"). You can talk to these other students (and even do missions for them which earns you money), dress like them, beat them up if you'd like, and more.
There are main missions that you must complete in order to get through the game. Some deal with certain students, some deal with certain teachers, and all missions help Jimmy become the school's leader once they're completed. As mentioned above, the more you complete, the more things you unlock. Eventually you can leave the school and visit shops and other places in town. And of course, like all Rockstar games, there are minigames galore that keep you busy.
What's not to like? Not much. It's not a difficult game to play by any means and if something happens to you (like you lose a mission or you get knocked out), there is no "game over". If you're a parent considering this game for your child, note that there's mild language and violence.
If you're a fan of other Rockstar games, be sure to pick up Bully. You'll be playing for hours!!
"Better than expected", Thought it was about being a bully, but it was about trying to stop it. My son loved it.
"THIS GAME WAS FUN AND COOL", this game is good i played it over 10 hours and it was one of the best games that i have so u should buy it. also this game takes place in high school and it is like living back . just that rock star made it . it is like gta
"Bully", I bought this game for my sons for a second time! They played it so much that it was destroyed...
They Love it!!!
"Absolutely AWESOME!", I have never owned a product such as this one. It is truly a one of a kind for me!! And I guess I'm not as fast as some of the other users since it is taking me much longer to go through the various scenes. But I am enjoying every step of the process. I will admit that (for me) some of the tasks are quite challenging, but I have been making progress slowly but surely. I haven't tried the other games mentioned in some of the other reviews, but if they are as good as this one I may be compelled to give them a try. However, I don't like blood and gore so this one may be just what I need for right now! And it is the perfect "outlet" for me!
You might need this...

"ILOVE IT!!", to me personally i think this is better than GTA. Its like GTA in a school setting. Its exactly what i imagine a rich snotty private school to be like. It humorous and fun definitely a great buy. =)
"Great game! Just what I was looking for.", I have been a huge fan of the Rockstar development studios and I look forward to all their games. They do an excellent job of creating open worlds with a variety of tasks or jobs to complete. They strike a fine balance between letting a character roam at will and explore its surroundings and providing guidance to unlock new challenges and see the storyline progress. Bully is no exception. The characters are clever and engaging. The story is full of satire and wit. Most importantly, the gameplay is well paced and loads of fun.
Rockstar is best known for its Grand Theft Auto franchise, which I think is a ton of fun. I was a little disappointed with Rockstar's game GTA: San Andreas as I thought the "world" was too expansive and that the franchise had traded in fresh and fun gameplay for adult themes. Bully plays much like the GTA series, except that it recaptures some of the freshness that existed in GTA III and Vice City. In addition, it has removed a lot of the vulgarity and mature themes that are increasingly evident in its GTA games. At the same time, they have kept enough of the rough and tumble antics of any high school in the game to take you right back to the 9th grade (or forward, if you haven't been there yet). Nerds, jocks, pranksters, clueless administrators, fickle teenage girls, and the occassional sociopath will be your playmates in this game. It's a great game for anyone who wishes they could relive high school and come out on top!
"Amazing concept, pitiful execution", As a college student with little disposable income, I rarely buy video games in general, let alone when they're shiny and new. But with Bully I was enticed by the intelligent dialogue and the interesting concept I found in the trailers, and I bought it days after its release.
I deeply regret wasting my money like that.
While most of the best dialogue is in the trailers, that aspect of the game is still reasonably fresh and entertaining. The story itself was adequate and passably engaging. I expected and hoped for a lot more flexibility than I got, as I thought that the concept of a game like this would be much more interesting if we tried to find our own way, like a lost boy would in real life, instead of having our way strictly set forth before us. Gameplay also leaves something to be desired, as Bully is cloned from the Grand Theft Auto series, which is understandable given that it's made by Rockstar, but hardly acceptable, especially since all improvements to the style are minor and unimpressive.
More worrisome is the extreme ease with which I accomplished everything. Frankly, I'm a pretty poor videogamer, and relatively simple challenges tend to give me trouble. But in Bully, I was able to beat the game without much difficulty, and I didn't have a very fun time doing it. Class is easy, races are easy, minigames are easy, fighting is easy. It's hard to see the point.
Ultimately this game might be worth a couple of bucks, like as a rental, but buying it is simply a waste unless you want to get your kid a Grand Theft style game without the originality or strong violence.
"Reform School GTA", This is an exceptionally fun and well made game that contains a great deal of style and humor. I think most GTAers will have a good time with this.
"Nothing original in the gameplay, but a great game still", I really like this game, the story telling and the town you can explore (although I would have liked more added in the way of sandbox play), the game play is very similar to GTA, but the story is more intriguing, mainly because anyone who didn't think high school "was the best time of my life" can relate. Even after completing the story I had fun things to do but most of the game is in the missions, and I'm not able to waste hours having mindless fun the way I could in GTA never really achieving anything more then seeing what I could get away with.
It gets props for bringing most of the fun of GTA into a less violent and more tongue-in-cheek environment. If someone wanted to get a game similar to GTA but without the brutal violence, this would be the game to recommend.
