"Does not handle unpowered devices like iPods."
Overall does what a hub should do. Works 100% with powered devices like printers and scanners. But it doesn't like iPods: the connection will be lost (not a good idea to disconnect an iPod without "ejecting" it), or no connection will be made at all, or the port on the computer where the hub is connected will lock up.

Also, the build quality is poor. The silver finish is uneven, even worn off (out of the box) in a few spots. And the clear cover over the LED indicators is falling off.

Perhaps Belkin's new "Plus" hubs are better, but I'm not willing to find out.

Belkin USB 2.0 Plus Hub (7 Port) F5U307-BRN

"It just works"
What more is there to say about an extremely simple device that just sits there and does ts job? Oh yeah..the price is right, too.

"Just What I Needed"
I'm happy with my recent purchase of the Belkin Hi-Speed USB hub. I'd long ago run out of extra USB ports on the back of my computer and was constantly crawling on hands and knees each time I needed to plug in my USB memory stick or digital camera. This is MUCH easier. It mounts on the desk top, maintains a low profile, looks attractive and does the job. Sleek and slick.

"No problems and \quite convenient"
Some earlier reviews say it heats up too much. Not so. I recently purchased a big wonderful iMac 24". The only design flaw is that the USB and firewire outlets are inconveniently located on back of monitor. With this little puppy, you have quick and easy access to a bunch of USB outlets. I find it very useful and after a month, no heat or other problems.

"Excellent product"
This product extended the USB ports of my laptop from two to eight (it needs one to drop into the laptop). I have a camera, a bluetooth link, a printer, a backup drive, a Palm sych cable, a wireless mouse connector, and a neat receipts scanner inserted in the drive and all work easily. There have been no heating or connectivity issues. I would rate this product as excellent and would buy it again.

What our customer's say!

"Easy setup", The Belkin USB 2.0 hub was very easy to setup. The top mounted jacks allow very easy access for memory sticks or camera connections.

"Ambidextrous", That item works on an older computer.
My newer computer won't recognize it.
Since I bought two, I would say the success rate is 50%.

"Great little hub", I really like this little hug. It doesn't cost too much and I love that there are ports that stand up so I can put my USB sticks in them. Works well.

"Belkin Hi-Speed USB Hub, FSU237-APL-S", I really like the way this hub combines functionality and convenience. The easy accessibility of two high speed ports to plug in cameras or external drives is a real plus.

"failed after 2 years", Nice design and it worked well for 2 years, then failed. Not what I would expect for a belkin product. Shopping for another maker next time.

"Excellent hub performance for great price.", I really needed a USB hub for several printers and a couple scanners that I use in my home office and photo processing work on my iMac. I had already been pleased with a 4-port Belkin USB hub on a PC. I was able to plug the 4-port USB into the 7-port Belkin and added 4 other USB devices. They all worked flawlessly when I attached the 7-port into the iMac. I have had no sign of the hub overheating in the first couple months of operation. It looks fine on the desk and keeps the cords neatly directed to the rear. The top 2 sites make for easy short-term connections with thumb drives, etc.

"Belkin Hi-Speed USB 2.0 7-Port Hub", I was looking for a nice compact USB 2.0 hub for my i-MAC. The Belkin Hi-Speed USB 2.0 7-Port Hub F5U237-APL-S has perfectly handled all my USB needs - printer, external HD, camera, PDA, i-Pod, etc. Five of the ports are in the rear and two are on the top to make it easy to insert a flash dive. Works like a charm!

"easy and reliable", nice product. reliable, sleek-looking. the top ports are nice for plugging in a storage device, especially one that is wider than the plug itself. The product has its own power cord/source, which I've been told is an important thing to look for. I used to have a different Belkin usb port hub without its own power plug, and that one was unreliable (connections kept going in and out).

"Only worked for about 2 months", This is the second Belkin USB hub that I've had problems with. This one died after about 2 months of light use. Steer clear of them.

"Junk!", I've owned two of these hubs, neither work any longer. After about 8 months, the power supplies start to fail and the hubs become intermittant (some ports don't work), then they die completely. I won't be buying any more Belkin products.
