"The Best !!!", I do a lot of photo editing, and although I use several, this is the software that I use most often. It's very user friendly and easy to use. I absolutely love this, and my best friend also purchased this very same software after I showed her how to edit photos with it :) This is the best editing software ever. Who wants to learn photoshop, its so hard to learn, and I know very little about it, even though I own it... I always come back to this software when I'm editing my photos.

"Best Version Yet. Highly Recomended!!!", If you want to spend more time taking good pictures and less time editing, I highly recommend Microsoft Digital Image Suite 2006. Much easier to use than Photoshop. It even will let you work with your RAW flies. Be sure not to get this and not the "Anniversary Edition" if you want to work with RAW.

"Great and Easy to use", I am so glad I bought this software. I don't use all the bells and whistles, but it is easy to correct photos and touch them up. Easy to use, easy to see how things are done. A really good alternative to spending all that money on Photoshop.

"Good program, but I guess it didn't sell", This is a really nice program for capturing and manipulating digital images for the casual user (most of us). Unfortunately, according to Microsoft, it has been discontinued (http://www.microsoft.com/products/imaging/default.mspx) in favor of Windows Vista. This may be a bit hard to find, but I'm guessing there are deals available since the software is not current.

"Saved the Year!!!", I had used Adobe PhotoDeluxe for several years, but my ex has the disk so I could not reload it when my computer crashed. I had a deadline coming up, so I went in search of new software. I read product specs and reviews for several photo software programs, and finally selected Microsoft Digital Image Suite 2006.
This software does everything I need it to do. Cropping, adjustments to color and lighting, graphics and much more -- MDIS06 is a complete package. The "help" feature really is helpful, but I seldom need it since this program is so easy to use.
I am glad I chose MDIS06 -- my only regret is that I did not get it sooner. Five stars -- excellent product!

"Excellent software", This photographic digital software is user friendly, especially fun when combining more than one picture to create a wrap-around. I'm not sure it is in the same category as Adobe Elements 4 although both seem to do an excellent job.

"Much easier than PhotoShop ", I have PhotoShop and found it very difficult to work with. Because Digital Image Suite was written by Microsoft the steps were easier. I'm use to working within Microsoft framework. It probably does not do as much as PhotoShop, but for a non-professional that enjoys working with photos, scrapbooking, making personal stationary, and etc it's great. The card making section could be a bit better. I've not worked with that area because I have another program that I'm more at ease with.



"A few BEWARES about Microsoft", I bought the software ( Digital Image Suite 2006 ) before I bought my camera - to be ready to process the pictures I was going to take.
A BIG MISTAKE.

I bought a Canon 30D camera and record my images in RAW format (*.CR2).
UNFORTUNATELY, not all Canon .CR2 RAW files are the same. So, even though the software says you can edit .CR2 RAW images, it depends on which camera made the images.

Here is warning number two -
If you use Microsoft's Customer Service/Technical Support you will be routed to India - and they will just give you an answer that is vaguely related to your problem.

After emailing several times and getting nowhere you will find out that you can't write to their Washington state headquarters unless you have the name of someone in the address.

So, basically, Microsoft is the largest technical software company in the world with the worst customer service and no American technical support.

Now, for the final complaint. There is no link or method to get updates or upgrades for this program! So, if I want to use a Microsoft software package to edit my photo images then I will have to buy a new software package - isn't that wonderful.




"False Advertising", I'm not a professional photographer or even an advanced amateur. However, I do have a Nikon D50 and like to do more than the typical "point and shoot" photos. So when I was shopping for a photo program I looked mainly at Microsoft Digital Image Suite and Photoshop Elements. In the product features for Digital Image Suite it specifically states: "Supports RAW files...".

Well guess what, it supports only a limited list of RAW files. MS Support staff tells me that the D50 is not supported. In fact, I don't think any Nikon digital SLRs are supported.

Unfortunately, I found this out after the 45 day guarantee expired. Kind of hard to explore all software features in 45 days.

Wished I would have bought Photoshop Elements. They have much better support for a wide range of cameras and RAW file formats.
