"X Software Video Vault", It is an excellent product for backing up videos, transferring videos to various formats like IPod, Pocket or Palm PC, car dvd players and so forth.
I use this program on a daily basis, since I do have quite a large collection of movies both in English and Russian.

"Video Vault - to convert movies to my Epson P2000", I bought this because online reviews stated it was the best and cheapest at converting any format movie to any format movie, and I was especially interested in converting movies to play on my EPSON P2000.

The software does a great job at this, but it's not very intuitive. You have to be somewhat tech wise. There is no clear instructions and the help documentation is not robust at all. At times the Help doc only stated the obvious and provided no help at all. Think of it more as Glossary with some simple explanations. Grant it, I was trying to copy "copyright coded" movies which is more challenging (these were my movies that I purchased on DVD and wanted to watch them on my P2000...no violations were occuring here).

Since I consider myself tech savvy, I was able to figure it out, but it took me a while and more online research. Once you figure it out however, the software is awesome and simple. For the average user, with no code cracking requirements, the software works great and converts any format to any format, and usually simply by selecting from a drop down menu the device you have...it sets all other features for you automatically. One issue here, some devices like the P2000, offer you alternatives in the drop downs menu, but the software doesn't tell you anything about the difference between selecting one over the other.

Anyway, overall, I recommend this software to people who need to copy their movies, DVD or Home video, to their portable devices like P2000, Ipod video or PSP. I would not recommend buying this for Grandma assuming Grandma just discovered e-mail.
