"One of the best games for ps2", This is the a perfectly made game. If you love to be trigger happy this is the game for you.It has a good story line and gameplay. The only downside is you have to play the same missions over and over again.

"Fun Game", This is a very entertaining game with excellent graphics and weapon selection. It is one of the better shooter games that I have played in a long time. Although, there are a few drawbacks to the game. The character always drifts to the right during game play, which makes it hard to aim and shoot. Too much time and attention is needed trying to make the character stop drifting right. There is also no blood in this game. In the real world, there would be blood evident if someone were shot in the head. The only other drawback is that the game cannot be saved during play. If you get killed one second before you complete the stage, then you have to start from the beginning. Nevertheless, it is a very entertaining game that I highly recommend.

"Kick A** game", What a game !, for just a walk around game this is great, LOVE the breaking glass.
In most games as soon as you see them they see you ! DORING ! but this one gives you a chance in places to " Knock them off" before they see you, lots more fun.
The fact that the " BAD GUYS " can be busy shooting at the help is great gives you time to do them first !, very nice for a change..

Have given this game far to many hours then I should ! BUT well you know once you start this game SO hard to, PUT THE GUN DOWN ! LOL..GREAT SOUND also.
IF you get this game you will get LOTS & LOTS of fun out of it..TRUST ME.

"Violent, Adult escapist fun", After a full year of paying taxes, watching gas prices raise to extortionary levels; after another year helping young minds negotiate through the jungle of parts of speech, the worlds of John Steinbeck, Jack London and William Shakespeare as well as how to discriminate between a complete sentence and a fragment-helping young minds organize their thoughts in cohesive paragraphs and somewhat logical expressions; after working to design and allign a language arts curriculum; after exposing juniors and seniors to the wonders of FW Murnau, Akira Kurosawa, Alfred Hitchcock,John Ford Sam Peckinpah and Martin Scorsese and the language those visionaries use to bring the world to an eager audience; after coaching sixth graders on proper tackling techniques in football, posting up and rebounding techniques in basketball as well as directing high school actors to state championships and college scholarships as well as successful productions; after teaching the son to drive as well as drive his team to basketball camp, cross-country camp and summer conditioning; after celebrating a beautiful daughter's 19th birthday which has seen her become an honor student in pre-med (how the parent-plus loan will be paid is still up in the air); after cleaning the house, mowing the lawn, weeding the garden, making dinner and making sure the cars all have new tires and clean oil; after walking 35 miles a week in training for another WALKING marathon (old men don't run very well anymore)and doing 250 pushups, 200 situps and 100 crunches as the strength routine; after finally finishing William Faulkner's ABSALOM, ABSALOM (with its glorious two page sentences); after enjoying the complexity that was one of the finest movies that ever posed as a television series- HBO's five seasons of THE WIRE: it is pure visceral heaven just to switch on the Playstation 2 and blast a series of terrorists and their environments into the netheregions.

OF course the setting is still set on EASY. Granted, Level 2 still needs to be overcome (who knows what glorious descruction awaits?)- the controller has been easily customized to fit the more familar shooting style of MOH and this 41 year-old. All that aside, this violent, vulgar (F bombs drop frequently)action packed first person shooter is addictive and provides serious adult escapism for the sake of itself.

There is nothing morally redeemable about the game. It is all about killing. It is the type of game both Liberals and Conservatives rail against and that makes it all the more appealing.

The graphics are moody, stark and realistic. The sound design is subtle and layered and the action is swift, brutal and non-stop. The game features music worthy of a motion picture, the voice acting is fine (interesting how one of the "soldiers" sounds eerily similar to George W Bush) The body count is high. Sometimes the environment is a bit difficult to navigate through (just keep checking for landmarks when restarting) and the enemies are wearing body armor- so be prepared to unload a clip of AK-47 in order to eliminate the target. This game does take a good deal of time to get the hang of (at least for novice gamers).

In short, BLACK is carthartic entertainment. Well worth the price.

"Not Bad....Too Few Checkpoints", I had some fun with this game for awhile. The checkpoint/save system in this game is awful. It seems to take forever to kill guys off sometimes-they take so much lead. I thought the bridge level near the end was done badly; cheap death from mines you never see until its too late and a brutal ambush at the end that pretty much promises death and getting sent way back to the mid-point of the level.

"the BEST first person shooter on PS2!", I made the mistake of thinking this was a target shooting type game and never picked it up when it first came out. Big mistake. The pictures on the back of the box showed too many things exploding and didn't give me a good idea about the graphics and complex, detailed levels that this game has. So after recently finishing all the SOCOM games, I was in the mood for another military gun based title. Enter BLACK.

This game is hands down the most exciting, best looking first person shooting game on the PS2 console! The main story is simple: you are a CIA BLACK operative being interrogated by your boss about the details of your mission. Thankfully, the only cut scenes are before each level, after that it's ALL action!

There are 8 levels which may not seem like many, but after the first one, they get longer and longer. Almost seeming like 2-3 levels within one. Each level will start you off with a particular weapon or two, where you then pick up different guns along your path of destruction ( AK-47, M16, Rocket launchers, shotguns, MAC-10, Sniper rifles, grenades etc. ) Along with shooting enemies, the destruction is intense when you take out walls, cars, windows and anything else in your way. Great sound and visuals with splintering wood, shattering glass and bullet holes in everything you hit. Look for explosive objects throughout the levels like cars and gasoline barrels for big explosions! Don't forget to use your weapon suppressor to take out enemies without alerting others close by. Find hidden documents and intel along your path and destroy plans found in safes and brief cases used by the terrorists. The action is intense and riveting, I couldn't get enough of it sometimes. The graphics are incredible and probably some of the best you'll ever see on the PS2!

After playing it on normal difficulty, I quickly re-played it on hard mode to unlock the hidden silver weapons ( unlimited ammo ) and also unlock the BLACK OPS mode which gives you an M16 equipped with a grenade launcher and UNLIMITED ammo! Blasting through each level armed with this was actually easier than the hard mode. Also Black ops mode adds the extra "Destruction objective" where you have to find and destroy certain explosive objects throughout each level. The different levels of difficulty give this game a high re-play value. Even without them, I couldn't seem to put this game down.

The only cons would be that some enemies seem to take an incredible amount of gun fire before dropping. Even at point blank range. And there seems to be NO blood at all. A little splatter would have only added more to the intensity and look of the game which is already incredible. The story ends in a way that suggests a sequel, which I can imagine on the PS3 would be mind blowing. Unfortunately, I have read that BLACK has some glitches when played on PS3 systems that have backwards compatibility. I hope that some games are updated and re-issued on the PS3 system like the new version of The Godfather. BLACK is a game I can see myself continuing to play over and over for it's intensity. I tried re-playing playing SOCOM III after playing BLACK and I immediately wanted to put BLACK back in, it's just unmatched in it's intensity.

"Black is Awsome", You want a fantastic military shooting and blowing things up game, then buy this game. I have played this game over 300 hours and still pull it out to play when I am bored. You can't get enough of the action this game gives you. Great weapons and lots of shooting to stay alive. Blowing up trucks, oil tanks, gas tanks, and just about anything you can think of help you survive each mission. Some missions you use stealth and planning, and they give you the opportunity to complete each mission in different ways. You can use stealth, or try and blast your way through the mission. It great fun. Try it you will like it I'm sure.

"Black Rules!!!", This game is the ultimate first player shooter for the playstation 2. If you like first shooter don't hesitate to buy it. The story, game play, graphics, weapons and control is perfect. Just buy the game, go home and play it. That's all. Buy the game and play it!!!

"Believe the Hype", This game really exceeded my expectations. It's by far the most beautiful looking game I've ever played on PS2. The sound and graphics are amazing! I happy to find locations besides the factory, industrial settings. The forest areas really balance out the game. The game is believable enough in regards to head shots. It depends on what angle you have on your target. Sometimes, a single shot on top of the enemy's helmet will finish em. I like the dudes with all the body armour. They require at least a full clip of lead. If only this game was a multiplayer...
Besides that I think this is the best shooter on PS2. Kick back, crank up the volume, and destroy everything (virtually speaking).

"Hey, it's $20", Ok, not the best FPS but great in the way they paid attention to the deatails. When your playing the game just notice how much attention they paid to the guns your using. Each one has a different, realistic kick when you fire it. When you reload the gun you are focused on the gun. You can't line up the next shot because it goes all blurry. It teaches you to take cover and not run out holding down the fire button. Not to mention great graphics and gameplay. I might not have bought it for $40 or $50, but for $20, not to mention a greatest hits label, I highly 99% reccomend buying if you enjoy FPS's.
