"Good but not great.", It gets the job done, even if a little noisy. However between the mounts and the outlets being side by side, I have issues plugging in the two things I bought it for: phone charger and laptop cord. I had to buy an adapter. Quality and price are spot on.

"Good enough to drive 2 laptops", The Cobra CPI 450 Power Inverter was able to power both my daughters' laptops during a 10 hour trip without getting hot, and with no noticable noise. The cooling fan does not turn on until the unit gets warm to the touch. Once the cooling fan turns on, the unit quickly cools off and stays cool.

"Road Trip Must", We used this inverter for a road trip from Miami to Tennessee and back. (over 1800 miles). It ran two laptops the whole time with no problems. Fan is not too loud, you can't notice it when the music is playing. Has the automatic shut off features to protect your electronics.

"Best inverter out there", By far the best inverter on the market. The fan is extremely quiet compared to comparable models and it comes in an easy to store case. I would definitely recommend this product.

"Don't buy this model", Don't buy this Cobra model. I had a Vector invertor 400 for 10 years, went bad order a Cobra 450 because of price $30.00 no shipping. Unit was defective, returned it $8 shipping, replaced it with like kind, defective, $8 return, letter from Amazon widespread problem with this model, could not replace it. Re-fund my money, ordered a Vector $38 plus $10 shipping. Got email no refund on 2nd Cobra replacement order placed 2 months without, could have bought a unit in town for $45 go figure.

"dc to ac converter", Replaced a unit that I have had for years. Works great for playing video games while traveling and for use on camping trips

"great unit", has worked for me for a long while now. i've gently taken care of it, and had it on my boat, in the car/truck, etc. for use for variety of things. laptop power is its 1st use and it works great for that. no major complaints.

"Inverter never delivered", Amazon has no feed back on purchase, and UPS terminal unlisted number unresponsive so I cannot report that I never received a delivery that was suppose to be put in my front door. In all accouts, this is probably a very good device, but since UPS dumped my package instead of delivering it, and nobody seems to want to present an avenue for communications, I find this the only way to communicate. This may well be the end of business with both Amazon and UPS for this reason. The only option left is to stop payment at credit card level, and let them try to figure it out! Grrrr.

"Well constructed, well packaged, clear instructions and performs as advertised", I did a lot of research on this item, given the small price. Cobra in my mind had a lingering reputation for poor quality. I am quite satisfied with this product. I like the fact that it gives you the option of using a cigarette plug in or connection directly to the battery terminals to draw the DC power, and the plugs are quite easily swapped with two thumb screws. The directions did say not to power over 150 watts with the cigarette lighter. I'll take their word for it. But if this is the case, I think they need to understand that we need more than 2 feet of cord to get from the battery to the passenger compartment in any sort of installation. There is probably some technical reason behind them not wanting to provide longer cords that could melt or something......

Anyway, it pops right on after you flip the on switch, is quiet, and powers a variety of electronics just fine - laptop, dvd player, cell phone charger etc. It also comes with a well-built hard-side case for storage, which is a strong plus in my book. Otherwise you would just throw it in the trunk, crud would get into the outlets etc. Also, this inverter comes with two outlets for AC, that isn't clear from the picture.

My initial impression is one of extreme satisfaction, from design, packaging, quality and usability, it appears to be the real deal.
