"Worth the Money"
I had no problems with StarForce. The game ran fine on my X850XT, and it had great (some of the best I've heard in a game) voice acting. The story was ok, but the missions made up for it. The controls were a little odd at first.

If you've exhausted the Hitman series and are looking for something more or less similar, go for this.

"splinter cell chaos theory"
chaos theory is awesome.this is easily my favorite in the collection.the graphics are outstanding.id say they would be in comparison to the xbox version.honestly,i only bought this copy because for one,my xbox just puked on me.so i found out they released it for pc and was like 'hell yeah'.so yes i would definately recommend this to others.the price is actually what caught my eye.i paid 6$ for my copy from amazon.com.thanks again amazon for the awesome deals.

"Great game."
This is probably the best Tom Clancy game I have played. I would definitely recommend it.

Just a tip: save the game often (or use quick saves). This prevents much frustration with the game, especially if you are trying to play Stealth mode and get caught after half an hour of progress without saving.

"Simply smashing!"
One word. Stunning. The range of motion of Sam Fisher is like playing an olympic gymnast/biathlete with no compunction. The graphics are sharp and clear and the PC AI is good; they are smart enough to take cover under fire, regroup, and notice noises and out-of-place objects (open doors, broken lights, etc.) The positional audio is above par, it gives you a real idea of the range of your victims and allows you to time your stalk with their footfalls and your strikes with ambient noises (lightning, machines, etc.) and will scare the crap out of you with hidden enemies if you aren't paying attention. Even the night vision is fuzzy (sucks, like in real-life, you dont use it unless you have to...), but its better than pitch darkness. I am playing this on a laptop with a Core 2 Duo 2GHz, 1GB of PC5400 RAM, and an ATI X1300 with 256MB of memory connected to a projector (120" viewable, yes 120, I am unhinged by the clarity) at 1280X800 and would not want to play this game with anything less. You can see the rain drip and rivulet down Sam's rubber SEAL suit on the highest settings! Sam is so quiet I am trying to play through without drawing a firearm.

"Nice Game"
This game has more stealth actions than Metal Gear. This is the first time I play Splinter Cell. It doesn't require much of cpu and gpu resources since it was made in 2005. There's no lag in my system at all. This is a third person game. I personally can't play first person shooter. I get dizzy usually after 10 minutes of fps. This game is the best for me and anyone who has the same problem as I do.

"Chaos prone", Will not work with Vista, because the disk protection will not load into Vista. Works ok in XP and is somewhat fun.

"Dissatisfaction", I have no idea how this game is, because I was not sent the version I ordered. I ordered a CD-ROM and received a DVD; I don't have a DVD drive on my computer. Why should I have to buy a new drive because Amazon made an error?

"Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory", It is a great game for adults (for you liberals out there that means over 18 and out of mommy and daddy's house).

"Yep, another victim of Starforce", I was aware this game had starforce, but I decided to install it anyway, because I thought "How bad could starforce be". Personally I've never had a problems with starforce, NEVER, until this game. But thats because all my games before this one did'nt have starforce on them. First my Optical drive was turning slowly and then acting as if it was stuck. I was running this game on my DVD-ROM drive. Then one night I poped in my IL2 Pacific Fighters Flight Simulator game, and with no warning, my DVD ROM drive made a gun like POP noise, guess what, my IL2 Pacific Fighters CD is broken in about 7 to 8 big pieces. Talk about getting extremly mad. I kinda guess it was probably the starforce. Then later that week, my Windows XP home edition would not boot up, only show a black screen, I had a feeling it was also caused by starforce. Not only did I lose my optical DVD ROM drive, I also had to buy another Pacific fighters sim game CD. And I had to do a total reinstall of Windows XP home edition. You may be wondering why im not mad about what I experience. Well thats been a year ago and now Im fully recovered. Personally I would love to sue starforce for all the damage that was done to me. Just like some of the other reviews have told you. DO NOT BUY THIS VERSION OF THE GAME. If you really want to play this game, go for the console version.

(Alittle word for starforce company-->I hope you have to file bankrupcy, further more I hope you go to jail for making junk...)



"Do *NOT* buy this version of the game", The Windows version of Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory is infected with Starforce, which besides potentially wrecking your Windows installation, can also physically destroy optical drives (and also may not work with newer hardware or operating systems).

Because of the infection, pick up one of the console versions of the game if you're interested. Obviously the graphics won't be as good, but they're still fine. Another alternative will be to play it through Gametap's rental service, when it shows up on there.

The game itself is a solid entry in the stealth action genre. Worth playing if you're a fan of the genre.

Note that as of today, this is the ONLY version infected with Starforce. Earlier and later entires in the series do NOT have Starforce, just this one.

"sam widow", my guy pal is really enjoying this game....just make sure your pc has the correct video card to support the graphics, etc. that chaos theory requires. we purchased an nvidia geo force card which was spendy, but worth it so he could play this game.
