"Bullitt [Blu-Ray]", Its no secret that the plot of this movie is sketchy. The satisfaction of Bullitt comes partly from the realistic and gritty treatment of the hospital scenes, and partly the general no nonsense atmosphere throughout. And the blu ray transfer is very impressive. The car chase speaks for itself. Overall, a nice statement for its time, but mainly for the atmosphere and vibe.

"Bullitt DVD", I've watched this film at least 50 times over the years. Steve McQeen, Robert Vaughn and the rest of the cast are stellar. The direction and driving stunts were brilliant .

"Brilliant!.", Steve McQueen (The Great Escape) stars as detective Frank Bullitt, a man assigned to protect Pete Ross who is due in court in a few days. But Ross is killed and now Bullitt has to track down the murderer and unravel the case, A local politician (Robery Vaughn) acts as the token bureaucrat standing in the way of getting things done. Bullitt is a slick and exciting typical crime drama with great visuals and has perhaps one of the best car chase scenes of all time, the most famous car chase scene in cinematic history with great direction to match. The film was shot in San Fransisco and uses alot of great locations and the acting from the cast was top notch especially from McQueen who is second to none as the intelligent and sophisticated detective Frank Bullitt and this performance by the talented actor brings the plot to life with exquisite timing, he was definitely one of the coolest actors ever. The story is not that complicated but is rather effective as a gritty cop thriller from the 60's. Peter Yates directs the set pieces superbly, from the great car chase (often imitated but never bettered) to the Airport showdown with McQueen his coolest best. Jacqueline Bisset also plays Bullitts girlfriend who is caught between her love for him and hatred of his job. Now over 35 years old, Bullitt still remains to be a classic. The film is restored in widescreen and with renewed picture clarity and has a good selection of extras to make this one an awesome addition to your collection especially if you're a Steve McQueen fan.



"DVD Doesn't Work !", I have ordered this movie twice and neither DVD I received, works !!They will not play, I've even taken them to an Electronics store - no go. I have spoken to Amazon.Com and they assured me they will take the item off the Internet and refund my money. I was told to watch for the Movie again and when I see it, to go ahead and order it. So I ordered it for the third time yesterday ....... will this one work AMAZON.COM ?????

"only one steve mcqueen", Product quality was good. Story line a bit thin with predictable antagonists. Seem to remember a very weak and unsatisfying ending. The car chase may have been hot in its day, but it seems really ordinary by today's standards. You have to love Steve McQueen though. He even looks good in dorky pajamas.

"Bullitt," one of the best crime thrillers ever filmed, also has one of the best--if not the best--car chase scenes ever shot. Cineastes refer to it simply as "The Chase." No other words required. Who can forget the timeless breathtaking duel between the killers' black-on-black Dodge Charger and Lt. Frank Bullitt's 1968 Mustang GT 390 as they roar up and down the steep hills of San Francisco? McQueen's Dark Highland Green Mustang literally flies over the hills and, let's face it, puts the Charger to shame.

Not only that, "Bullitt" is a taut cop thriller well directed by Peter Yates with a fascinating police procedural script and a pulsing, jazzy score by Lalo Schifrin. The honest loner Frank Bullitt goes up against the city machine represented by the amoral publicity-seeking San Francisco DA who cares more about his career than doling out justice to the criminals.

And don't forget the King of Cool himself Steve McQueen. I would go out on a limb and say "Bullitt" is his best movie. Certainly, it has his best role. Too, Robert Vaughn's performance as a smarmy and slick district attorney is dead on.

Like McQueen's stripped-down, hopped-up Mustang GT 390, the lean, mean "Bullitt" hits on all eight cylinders as it explores the seamy, gritty streets of San Francisco.

"Banded in WS", The movie was great. My only complaint was that no matter what I did to the setting on my TV or DVD player, I got the dreaded black bars on the top and bottom of the screen.
This was a big disappointment for me. I bought the WS version because I have a WS TV.

"Bullitt: Where the Car Chase was Created!", Bullitt, is a movie that was released in 68, its a detective story, where Det. Frank Bullitt is looking for the murderers of a witness. Although the movie has its good moments of sleuthing and grittiness what makes this movie is its 7 min. car chase. What makes this car chase the ultimate car chase is that Steve McQueen is the actual driver of the 1968 Mustang from start of the chase to end of it. All through out the chase the cars are driving at actual speeds through San Francisco, unlike many movies since even today where they simply speed the film up to give the illusion of driving fast. Again this is a solid detective movie but what sells this movie is that chase!!

"movie", I forgot this movie....it is real tame compared to todays special effects....it's good to see Steve again though
