"Great battery life"
I bought two extra of these batteries because I heard they had a short charge life. I could easily get away with just one extra. I've shot pics and video with my S7c and had excellent life from these batteries.

"Great battery, carry a spare!", My daughter has a Coolpix s52, and the original battery works great. Problem is, it lasts so long, it's easy to forget to charge it before heading out for a day of picture-taking, and I certainly don't like charging a half-charged battery. Bought a spare, problem solved. The spare holds a charge well and we swap back and forth when the primary battery poops out. It's true, generic batteries are cheaper, and I wish the Nikon battery wasn't so pricey, but still would buy it every time rather than risk it.

"Nikon Battery", Nikon original battery is not any better than knock-offs.
Knock-off batteries are 1/3 of the price. Knock-off batteries provided an equal amount of pictures per charge

"Spare Battery ALWAYS a good idea", I decided with the purchase of my Nikon Coolpix S51, that having the extra battery was a great idea. I have always carried spare AA with my old camera but since this camera uses a special battery, I needed one and I have certainly not be sorry. The battery life is pretty long but you never want to be without on vacation and miss that perfect shot!

"Can't go wrong with genuine Nikon batteries", Purchased a couple spare batteries for my Coolpix S50. I was hesitant to use an aftermarket brand, so I shopped around for a good price on real Nikon batteries from a vendor I trust: Amazon/Adorama. It looks like the price has gone up since I purchased ($17.95) so do your homework.

"EN-EL8", Not a very long life battery. Needed to have at least two so I would not be out in the cold when trying to get more shots.
