"Works Great"
The antenna works fine and allows me to use my upstairs wireless network in the basement. Shipping was swift and I hope the rebate comes in a timely fashion. I would buy this D-Link antenna again.

"what a difference this antenna made"
I am really impressed how much this antenna made a difference to my stock D-Link N router. Prior to installation, I had maybe 2 bars when in a different room but now I get all 5. Not only that, speed is way up too! And with a $20 rebate to boot, you can't go wrong.

"It does make a difference "
I bought this about 6 months ago. My home office computer is about 50 feet from the D Link router through steel reinforced concrete walls. I usually get a very low wireless signal with frequent drop outs. When I tried the antenna 6 months ago it made no difference. I just tried it again as I was losing my signal. I attached it directly to the router and set it vertical as advised. I now have a 2 to 3 bar signal. From the reviews I gathered that it's kind of a hit or miss purchase but I'm glad that I didn't write it off at first impression and that it's now working for me. I'd give it 5 stars but I think it's a little overpriced. ( I paid $37)

"Maybe it helps"
I havent really "tweaked" this. I plugged it in and left it. It didnt really increase my number of signal bars. My connection does seem better though. For the price I paid its worth having. Even if any improvement might only in my head.

"Don't get your hopes up!"
Product description for this antenna led me to believe that my wireless signal would be stronger and farther. This antenna did not improve my wireless signal.

What our customer's say!

"Excellent Signal Strength", I was getting low-good signal in my room. I ordered this antenna to replace the one on my router. Unfortunately the antenna on my router was not removable. Instead I fixed this antenna on the PCI Wireless card and the performance was fantastic. I am getting Excellent signal on my PC. I am very happy with this product.

"You'll be stealing your neighbor's Wifi in no time!", I live in an apartment building and decided that getting free Wifi is a good way to save a 50 dollar bill every month. I hooked this up to my D-Link wireless card (installation is so easy a caveman could do it). Before the antenna was installed, I only got one network in my building with one bar. Now I get 12 networks with 3-5 bars on 6+ of them. This thing is worth its weight in gold in the internet bills it saves you (and would also makes for a handy tool if you have a really big house and can't get reception from your router).

"D-LINK 2.4GHZ", I bought D-LINK 2.4Ghz at Amazon almost a month ago. I love it. It gives a good signal as those guys claim in the reviews. I usually had trouble to play (insantly watch) on NETFLIX, sometimes I had to reconnection a few times to finish a hole movie. Not any more. This D-LINK 2.4Ghz save me a headache. Price is good and it's easy to install. It took me 5 minutes.

"No improvement from DIR-655", I purchased this to improve the signal from a DIR-655 to an xbox360. Intention is to stream HD video. Reviewing the signal strength on the media center network tuner did not show any increase, it is still 1 line below HD signal strength requirement. No improvement in the quality of the video displayed was observed.

"For My House And Computers, This Works Perfectly!", I put off buying this antenna for some time after reading the hit and miss reviews that different users posted here and elsewhere.

But with a $[...] rebate I decided to take the chance and test it out for myself. The results I post are real for my house and the computers we use. Know ahead of time that this may be one of the most subjective pieces of equipment you may buy and that it may or may not work for you, your building, your router, your type of wireless cards and your computers. That doesn't make it a bad product or defective. It just means that like all computers, the conditions and equipment make a huge difference. Be forewarned.

I live in a single story 2100 square foot steel reinforced concrete block ranch style home. The internet modem and D-Link DI 624 wireless router are at one of the extreme points of the house in my home office. So the signal with the original antenna to the far side of the house, over 40' away was always one or two bars.

After hooking the ANT24-0700 up to the D-Link wireless router, the signal strength was boosted a very great amount. I've not used any software to measure it like some of the others here have but I have done a walk around bar test which I'll share.

I took my newish HP laptop and first walked around the inside of the house. On the near side of the house in the bedrooms, I have 5/5 bars. On the farthest inside of the house in the master bedroom where my wife's E Machines computer is located, her signal went from 1 bar using a D-Link Turbo card to 4/5 bars. This is amazing to us especially after reading some of the reviews here that some folks aren't getting any boost at all, or very little. I can only surmise that it's a mismatch of equipment.

Continuing inside, the master bathroom on the opposite side of the house from the modem, router and antenna is at a full 5 bars when it used to be 2 bars. So I wanted to really see what this thing would do and took my HP laptop outside. Remember, the antenna is behind steel reinforced concrete block, stucco, foil lined insulation, etc.

Walking straight out from where the antenna sits, I had 4/5 at 150' (the house is that far from the road). That tells me my neighbors could hop on my system very easily if it wasn't protected. Something to consider when buying this product.

I walked around to the farthest point from the antenna, outside the master bedroom and stood at least ten feet away from the wall, the two farthest points of the house, OUTSIDE, through all of the walls, furniture, wiring, concrete, etc. I had 2/5 bars. I didn't think I would have any.

So all that to say that with my house and my computer equipment including the D-Link router and D-Link desktop card my wife uses, this antenna really does work very well.

Will it provide the same kicking boost for you? You will just have to try it and see. For some it has provided the extra added boost they were looking for. For others, they have only seen a slight increase. For me, it's just what I was looking for and works as advertised.

Good luck!

Read this reviews before You buy...

"A very nice replacement.", I bought this antenna because my original antenna on my router broke off (yes, there were running children involved). I do see a little more coverage in the house but what I really like about the unit is it's seperate base. You can put this in any number of different places to make it work best for you.

"It does expand the range", Yes! It works!
It does expand the range very well.
You need to make sure there aren't many walls between the antenna and system/laptop. And ideally both antenna and system should be in the same plane (like, on tables of approximately same height). The product feels sturdy and reliable. Unpacking was irritating...could not find an easy way to cut that bullet proof plastic. Same story with most products these days.
I am not giving 5 stars due to the lack of published information about the range. I had to go through several sites and reviews before picking this one. The manufacturers should clearly publish how wide the range will be without walls and with walls instead of simply saying "7dbi" or "extend your range". And then they can add the list of factors that might effect the signals. I was in a hurry to return the product and could not capture details about the exact width of range.
In my case there are too many walls and I had to return the product.
Note that I was trying to capture signals from a friend's apartment 3 apartments(not buildings) away. I connected it to his router and placed close to his door. I could receive signals when I keep my main door open. I ended up calling Comcast (again) for a new connection.
Amazon's return policy is very fair and the process is easy to follow.
No shipping price was charged in my case. They survived the burst of dotcom bubble. They will survive the recession and elections ;)

"Helps, But Not a Lot", I'm not sure if I'm having a hard time connecting other computers to my router because my router is upstairs and the computers I'm trying to connect to are downstairs, but this seems to have helped a little. I don't always get reception, but sometimes do. It does seem to make a difference to reposition both the antenna and the Wireless G adapter.

"Longer cable Needed", I am using the indoor antenna as I write this. It has made it possible for me to receive a signal. But, I would like D-Link to provide a longer connecting cable with the unit, or to offer one as an extra purchase, because I cannot optimize my signal by placing the antenna in the best possible place. I also wish it was more sensitive, though the next step up in antennas which were more sensitive was triple the price.
This will do for now.

"Wow it actually gained 2 inches further.", This is the worse money stealing product I've ever bought. My -dbi went up 2%. That means it went further by about 2 inches. For the money I spent on this antenna, I was expecting it go at lease 150 ft further. It did not make any difference on my linksys wrt54. I've bought 2 of these antennas replacing the current linksys 2dbi antenna(I think it's 2dbi). I just went back to the linksys antenna. Same result anyway. Good design and quality. But terrible product since it doesn't even serve the only purpose it was initally made for.
