"Fun Game"
I purchased this game because it is a rare one for as few as two players. We have played it with two and with a crowd, and it can be wildly fun! It is a timed game, and it is made edge-of-your-seat fun because it is a random timer. Another plus: this game can be played with younger people and adults at the same time witout an age-related advantage.

"worst game ever"
I would never play this game again...i purchased this game a coulple weeks ago because i wanted a game that was 3 players or less..my boyfriend and I started playing and realised that it was very difficult and boring...

"Gets a Bit Noisy! "
This game involves a vocabulary card - Name Items in a Dentist Office, for example, and a letter card. A random timer is used and players must name any items that can fit into the category and begins with the letter turned over. It is much harder than it seems but people can be very inventive in trying to win. A very fun game, but I would reserve time to learn more vocabulary to play the game well too.

"Chris' review"
I played this game for the first time at a family reunion in September and enjoyed it so much that I promptly bought it. It is very fun, interactive, it does get you to think, could broaden your vocabulary. But most of all is a fun, easy to learn group game that gets everyone laughing, negotiating and having to come up with group consensus on the validity of answers. I highly recommend it.

"A Good Fun Game For More Than Just Parties!"
I'm always on the lookout for new and exciting games. This game is much more fun and fast paced than I thought it was going to be.

The object of the game is to be the last person to shout out a answer in order to move around the board. Each person has a subject card, these subjects range from "All about parks" to "Things in a video store" to "Vegetables" and so on. At the beginning of each turn, a letter card is turned over. If the letter is "C" for example, each person tries to come up with an answer that both matches their own subject card as well as the letter. Players race to put their card down and give an answer first and then hit the timer. Whichever subject card is played, now everyone tries to match that criteria after the timer goes off. Now, the timer has been rigged to go off at different intervals, however each interval is very short, between 10-30 seconds a turn. Whoever can get the last answer in before the timer goes off moves ahead on the board. There is also a "jump start" where if everyone looks stumped on their original subject cards someone can hit the timer and call out "jump start" and see if they can stump the other players. If nobody can come up with an answer before the timer goes off, the person who initiated the jump start will move forward 2 spaces.

It's a fast paced game that keeps you thinking and seeing how fast your brain can come up with answers of the fly, which makes it both a great party game as well as a educational game. One of the best parts about the game is that it can be played with as few as 2 people. This for me is a huge plus! It seems like nearly all my games require 4 players anymore, so this is a fun one to pull out with smaller crowds. They also include instructions for team play if you are playing with children, large groups or people that just aren't that great at thinking on their feet.

Final Verdict: A great game that can easily be added to anyone's game collection, young, old or anywhere in between.

What our customer's say!

"Almost brought a fun party to a halt", A group of us get together about once a month for game night, with word and thought games being the most popular. We've been playing BuzzWords for a couple of months (GREAT GAME!). I bought Last Word because it seemed to be a fun alternative. We played a rousing game of BuzzWords then switched to Last Word. I thought we were all going to fall asleep. It might be better if played in teams, but even then, it took forever for 8 of us to move even 2 or 3 squares. The concept sounded good -- but the execution was pretty bad.

"Fun game for the family/friends get-together...and it doesn't take forever to finish!", My wife and I purchased this board game primarily just out of curiosity. We wanted something for small parties and get-togethers. We like Cranium and Balderdash, but sometimes these games can take forever. Well, Last Word goes by quickly. So, if you're trying it out and you hate it, then just be patient. It will be over before you know it! If you're trying it out and you love it, then you can play it again and again in a relatively short period of time.

The game itself is a bit like Scattergories. Each player gets a category card such as "Items in a purse", a letter card is drawn, then you play your category card and starting throwing out names of items that are found in a purse that start with that letter. Mostly it's fun, but sometimes ideas run out and the game slows down almost to a halt. If there were a wider variety of category cards, then this would not be the case. Also, the last word must be spoken before the buzzer, which is set to go off at random times every time.

It's a fun game which could have used a little improvement, but overall, I recommend it.

"Utter Chaos", I've played dozens of party games, and usually the louder we can get then the better the game, but this game was just sheer madness. When reading the rules it seems rather simplistic and fun, but in actual application it was horrible.

With a group of up to eight players everyone gets a "subject card". The subject can be boys names, actors, things found in a dentist office, etc. Each player keeps his subject to himself. Then a "letter card" is turned face up. At that point the first person to 1.) put down his subject card 2.) read the subject aloud & 3.) say a word that begins with the letter shown and is applicable to his subject (e.g. the letter is "O", "boys name: Otis!"), then his subject is the subject for the entire group. Immediately after shouting out your subject and word that begins with the visible letter, you have to hit the random timer and the race is on for everyone to say the last word.

I'll tell you how the game really went:

"The letter is 'B'".

"Blalalalalalalalah!!!!!!!"

"No,"

"What?"

"I was first!"

"Who said you can hit the timer?"

"You're cheating!"

"My subject is too long, I couldn't say it faster than you!"

"I didn't hear anything but yelling."

"Just because you were loudest doesn't mean you were first."

"OK, this game is terrible, lets pack it up."

With eight people yelling at once and all eight people believing that they were first, we got nowhere. We actually had to modify the game just so it was playable. We just selected subject cards and then flipped over a letter card and went from there.

"Favorite Game!", Me and my best friend play this almost everytime she comes over and we always have a blast! It's hard sometimes but always fun! We end up saying something stupid and we laugh the whole rest of the time! It's a lot of fun!

"A Spin on Scattergories", This game is similar to Scattergories as it involves category cards and letter cards.

This is how it works:

Each person has one subject card in his/her hand. In the middle of the circle, a pile of letter cards is face down. Once a letter card is flipped over, every person races to find a word that begins with that letter and fits in their category. For example: If the letter B is flipped and I have a subject card that reads 'breeds of dogs' I can shout out beagle! The first person to shout out an answer places their subject card in the middle of the pile and pushes a timer. Now the game has switched. Instead of every person focusing on their own subject card, everyone has to thing of more answers to the card in the middle. Back to my previous example, other people in the group would now have to think of more dog breeds that begin with the letter B, each person shouting his/her answer. There is no limit to the amount of answers a person can shout out, but as soon as the buzzer goes off, the round is over. The person to say the LAST answer before the buzzer sounds gets to move up a space! The player that played his/her subject card picks another one from the subject card pile and the next letter is flipped.

This game is always unique as there are tons of subject cards. Some of them include things that are clear, girls names, comedians, song titles, and four letter words. If you find that you have a really hard subject card and wish to switch it for the next one on the pile, you can use a 'trade-in'. Careful about using this though because you can only trade your subject card once in the whole game.

Basically this game is full of fun. I once played with 12 people and it was insanely fun. Answers were being yelled left and right. By the time the buzzer went off it was hard to figure out who said the last word. I recommend this game to everyone. Great for family nights or a party with friends!
