"keyboard failures when light is on!" [...] When my keyboard started opening search windows all by itself! with the letters asd in them- I found it was a defect with the light- which is WHY I bought this keyboard. Their site's forum (see link above) had many instances of the same and other forms of freaking out. If you turn off the light- it stops this behavior- but when you reboot- it defaults back to the light on high (worst). I left my pc to reboot before going to bed and forgot about my problem and in the morning I heard error sounds- the keyboard had so many search windows opened- it took several minutes to close them all (had no group option?). Because I need lighted keys- I am now in search of a new keyboard. PS- gamers say keys rub off QUICKLY and Saitek just sends them new ones. BOTTOM LINE- IF you buy this keyboard- SAVE YOUR RECEIPT= chances are you will need it- if it happens within 2 years. My research says Eclipse II fixed erratic behavior but not keys wearing out. Please post reviews on your purchases- people like me depend on other's experiences! Thanks
"Nice job Amazon" Received this item very quickly in the mail from Amazon.com. Works great. Nice soft keys that don't click loudly on press, wrist bar, good price. Thanks Amazon.
"Exactly what I wanted" Everything is just great with the product. I can see the keys without any lights on and that is all I care about. It is easy to type on and there are absolutely no problems.
"Excellent!" I highly recommend this keyboard for all gamers and just computer users in general. It has lasted me quite a while now and it still lights up well. There's only one problem with it, however, but this may just be this particular keyboard. At times (not often, maybe two-three times before), the USB cable would stop working and the keys wouldn't work at all. The power is on because the blue light is on, but I cannot type anything. This is the only issue I see with this product and I'm sure for many others, this problem wouldn't occur often at all.
The best part about this keyboard is the silence from typing. These keys are incredibly quiet, which is especially nice since I hate hearing keyboard 'clicking' sounds.
"Excellent Buy!" The keys are very quiet, and the backlit feature is nice. It's very well-made, however, the backlit function could be brighter =/. Overall, it was worth my money.

What our customer's say!
"Awesome backlit keyboard for cheap", Don't worry about having to turn the lights on to see! This keyboard is great with a 3-way lighting button... Bright, Normal, Off. I leave mine on the mid setting at all times, more than enough, while not distracting you.
Pros: Backlit keyboard that feels good to use that looks cool.
Cons: Buttons have a tendency to fade, so I'm told. Over a month now (when the fading starts) an no signs of wear at all. Some of the buttons are not fully lit... "Back space" appears "Ba sp" as the right side of both lines fade out. Minor issue for having such a cheap backlit keyboard. No "extra" buttons... shortcuts, media controls, etc
Despite the few pros vs several cons... this is an amazing keyboard. The pro is a BIG pro and cons are hardly noticeable. I have heard people say this keyboard is bigger than normal ones... not sure how, it replaced my old keyboard and fit EXACTLY where it was. Should it crap out on me, I WILL buy another as I now LOVE the back lit keyboard as my wife and I's bedroom is across the hall and this keeps us from keeping the other up at night with the room lights on.
"Saitek Keyboard great but missing 1 feature...", Keyboard is great, lighting is not need during the day and actually makes it hard to see the keys (if you are looking when typing) so I tend to turn off the lighting during the daytime hours. Works great in the dark though. Great feel and nice soft sounding keys when you are typing.
Only drawback is there is NO volume control on the keyboard... other than that it is a great keyboard.
"Great for small hands, cool Star Trek glow, and you won't need a task light to type at night", The Saitek Eclipse Keyboard glows at night. Not only is this a spiffy effect, it's a useful household tool. In our small apartment, my computer is right next to the bed. With this keyboard, I can write or IM someone all night with the lights out. If you share a bed with your partner, this is a very handy feature.
The soft indigo backlight shines through the key characters - letter, numbers, symbols - and casts a pretty "Star Trek" glow in my home office area. Of course, you can also use this keyboard in daylight! The dark graphics on the silver keys are easy to see in any light environment.
The keyboard is on the small side, and not particularly ergonomic. In my case, this is a big plus: I have small hands and a smaller keyboard is easier for me to use. The ergonomic boards tend to splay out a bit and are harder for me to use. The Eclipse does have little adjustable stand up pegs in the rear like most boards, and comes with a plastic wrist shelf that you can clip to the front if you wish. I left mine in the box - it doesn't seem to be much of a help in my case (I like my keyboards compact and that piece of plastic on the front makes it bulkier).
Extra keys include buttons for volume control, muting, and an adjust button for the glow: you can have bright glow, low glow or no glow. Otherwise, this is pretty much a standard character keyboard with no frills beyond the glowyness.
The Eclipse is a "plug and play" - meaning you don't have to install a disk or anything else in order to use the equipment. I don't need a lot of keyboard perks, but I know some people like those. I just find programmable keys add extra bulk. This keyboard is streamlined and ideal for my needs.
Best Keyboard Feature - The glow! That is its selling point. I can actually use this keyboard in the dark, no task light needed. So my bedroom stays pretty dark when I type at night, like the bridge of the Starship Enterprise on night shift. :)
Worst Keyboard Feature - Unfortunately the keys do click a bit, so if your bedmate is a light sleeper, this might still keep someone up. You would need to think about whether it is more restful for someone to have a quieter keyboard or the lights off.
Of course, if you just like the cool indigo look of the thing, that is certainly reason enough to try this product. I've tried many keyboards and am pleased with this one - it fits my small hands and my small desk, looks cool and lets me work with the lights off.
"Better then My old keyboard", i just got this daitek illuminated keyboard 4 days ago it works great under any dark condition i dont have to use my lamp any more, the only problem is that the volume buttons dont work, i dont know why but other then that the keys are soft and not loud like most other keyboards so far its the best keyboard i ever had, now some other people stated that this is not a gaming keyboard its true it is NOT its just a regular keyboard with a little more "add-on" features and a nice design.
"Saitek Eclipse Keyboard ( PZ30AU ) ", Excellent keyboard for the price- I thought that some of the backlit characters could be a little easier to read since I'm pretty much a two fingered typer, but I tend to go mainly by memory like someone who's an ACTUAL typist might....just a bit slower! The lighting is nice, since I use my PC in low light a good part of the time. Spacing of items is normal and the keys are easy to access without accidentally hitting any nearby ones like some keyboards can be. (especially laptops) I bought this sight unseen and I'm very happy with it!

"Good Keyboard...", Good keyboard. Feels right, does what it is supposed to do. If you are whining about the backlight not being bright enough to "see" your keys in gaming situations... first off, if you are a gamer, you KNOW your keys... and second, if you are looking at your keyboard and not the screen, then you are just going to get pwnd. Stop looking at your keys and pay attention to what's going on in front of your face.
"Love the feel of it but the keys wore off in 3 weeks", As others have said, the keys wear down on this way too fast. I've only had mine a few weeks, and the E is already one big blob of blue... and the T isn't far behind. I'm terribly disappointed because other than that I absolutely LOVE this keyboard. The touch is super smooth - and the blue lights make working in the dark downright fun.
Thankfully I don't have to look at the keyboard much ;)
"Simple, superior performance", First off, the blue LED lighting is a nice touch. It makes this keyboard one of the most simple, yet attractive wired models out on the market. The keys are very sturdy, while not perfectly silent, they make less noise than most. The spacebar is the right size for any gamer. The only extra options are for sound and to turn the LEDs down or off. It could use some extra features, but at this price it's hard to ask for more.
Highly recommend!
"Amazing", Key strokes are perfect not too long and not too short. Though a little louder then say your average run of the mill default keyboard its got a nice sound that lets you know you have hit the key. The build quality is excellent and feels as though i could throw it and it wouldn't break. Though there are only 3 media buttons (sound up/down and mute) thats all any real computer needs. And the back light is perfect. in pitch black conditions its more then bright enough to see every key crystal clear. Even in fully lit conditions the back light is bright enough to make the keys seen. My friend has a G15, which i use all the time, and i prefer this keyboard. Better key feel, smaller more convinient and 1/2 the cost. Its perfect.
"Great keyboard", Wow, sweet keyboard. If you like quiet typing with style, this is your keyboard. I wouldn't of minded if it would of had more keys like pause, play, next, back and so on. Other than that its a great keyboard.
