"Horrible Horrible Horrible....."
This game is absolutely boring. The reason why I gave it two stars overall is because there is so many bugs and glitches, and long loading times. The graphics are pretty good but you don't get to choose who you want to be. Also, why is this only two players????? It's called fantastic four not fantastic two. Also, for some reason this game always gives me a huge headace when playing the game. I tried giving it a chance but I gave up. PLEASE don't waste your money on this crappy game.

"Hits and Misses"
The problem with this title is the lack of innovation and polish. Four fantastic characters, yet game play is slack, cliché', and redundant. The individual powers are unique, but overall they feel very similar. The story and fun of the game would be incredible if the powers and personality of the characters were exploited in the game play. However, it all feels the same: boring. These are classic characters with distinct personalities, and that should be read in the game play. Take Sue, for example. In the comic, Sue, the "Invisible Woman", is the strong one, the glue that holds the team together. In the game her character is rendered weak and ineffective. The Fantastic Four comic made Sue just as important as the male characters, but in the game Sue is semi-super. Her invisibility power is ultimately useless, they should have made stealth-centered game play for Sue. It would have been a great contrast to the brashness of some of the other characters. After all, Sue is intelligent, lacking in physical strength, and has telekinetic attributes. She is the ultimate spy, and who wouldn't want to sneak around a bunch of mutated lizard-mole dudes to avoid danger? Unless of course you could set yourself on fire and fly around. . . like the Human Torch! His special power moves were very cool, but they only served to whet the appetite. He hovered over the ground the entire time like an out of control science fair project. I really craved a flying level, with much more freedom in movement. I always thought that flying is about being free, and the man was grounded, not entirely cool. Also, he was on fire the whole game! How on earth does the man take a shower? Super hero is about super hygiene, unless of course you are wolverine or Austin Powers. The Best part about being the `real' Human Torch is his transformation, which is (I think), what fans identify with. The "Flame On!" command symbolizes the emotional part of being Johnny Storm. He's young and successful, he thinks he is invincible, and with a command He nearly is. It symbolizes his heroism, his feeling of invincibility, and his youth. I enjoyed the Thing the most. It's always fun to run down the street at night in a hat and trench coat, throw cars around and beat thugs with lamp posts (in the game I mean...hey it's what disgruntled super heroes do). Reed was ok, but his fighting style was a bit of a stretch (I know, bad joke). Reed's computer hacking mini-games were fun. I liked the different music with the various characters too. Overall Fantastic Four is a fun 2 player game for an evening with a friend, but I wouldn't purchase it at full price. It doesn't have a huge replay value...although sometimes I do get a hankerin' to throw some cars and rip out lamp posts...(sigh)oh well.

"Save your money the new X-men game is here"
This was by far the worst game I've ever bought. If you don't believe me please just rent it and see for yourself. I loved the comic as a kid and though the movie wasn't great it was Citizen Cane compared to this pile. The character movement was difficult the missions were repeative and the game was just generally boring. Seems like they rushed this game out just for the movie.

"Not all that fantastic..."
i think the game isnt all that....it's like xmen legends, but doesnt hold, you know? it didnt have what it really took to be fun, unlike xmen legends which kicked hiney..cant wait for the second one to come out...but for this game, i think its better to rent it than to buy it outright...you might wanna spend a whole lot on a game that u absolutley hate...lol
god bless john kerry, you shoulda been prez...

"Prepare for the Fantastic (Four)"
I got this game a while ago. When I played it, it didn't seem so good. The first level was slooooooow and boooooooring. I put it down and I didn't play it for a while. Then I picked it up, where it was collecting dust (LOTS of dust) and played it. The opening level was not as slooooooow and boooooooring like it was. It was just a slow start. Now the second level fixed it. It began with Reed Richards waking up in a hospital and decides he must get out and find the others. That level puts you straight into the action... almost. This is not a tutorial level. This is a level. You must hack into a computer (Ratchet & Clank ahoy) and get out of the room. Then beat up guys. Then hack more computers and the level is done. Short... but sweet. Now the most fun character to play is unquestionably The Invisible Woman. She can go invisible and pull of many impressive move plus having the ability to look hot (Jessica Alba IS hot. Face it). My fav attack is "Force Wall". The second most fun is Mr. Fantastic. Im am totally overusing his "Spinning Fists" attack. 3rd comes The Human Torch. He got heat... literally. My fav attack is either "Fire Vortex" or "Fire Wall". The fourth is Ben Grimm or THE THING!!! Don't get me wrong, he is not boring, just not as fun as the others :P.

What our customer's say!

"PLEASE!!!", Here's another superhero game that has nice graphics, but game play really sucks! First off, the game is a button masher without any rhyme or reason as to which buttons execute what powers; not smooth and controlled like in X-MEN LEGENDS/MARVEL ULTIMATE ALLIANCE/JUSTICE LEAGUE HEROES games. It felt like I was going to break my controller! And it seemed as though the uptake was really slow, you know you press the punch/attack button and there seemed to be a slight delay, so you end up pressing buttons in an absolute frenzy trying to get the characters to respond quicker. Very frustrating!

The other problem is the game's camera, which likes to zoom in on irrelevant things for no reason at all. Also, some areas are really dark and there are small cracks that you can fall through, maybe this is a bug in the game, but not good.

Another thing is that the box claims that you play as a team, but most of the missions you are exploring either by yourself or in pairs and you don't get to choose who you want to be.

If you really want to play a fun game as the Fantastic Four get MARVEL UTLIMATE ALLIANCE.

I understand the sequel to the FANTASTIC FOUR movie will be in theaters soon. If the powers that be were smart, they would've chosen either Ravensoftware or Snowblind studios(makers of X-MEN LEGENDS/MARVEL UTLITMATE ALLIANCE and JUSTICE LEAGUE HEROES respectively) to create the next game. If not, they better insist that Activision follow their lead (ironically, Ravensoftware falls under the Activision umbrella but I think that Activision is the distributor and not the maker of the X-MEN/MARVEL games).

Perhaps this is actually Marvel's responsibility. They should really pay attention to customer reviews and find gaming companies that create fun and enjoyable games, rather than more crap like this. By not doing so, Marvel is really alienating their fan base.

"Not As Fantastic as it could be", First of all i love the fantastic four out of all of the marvel teams they are my second favorite(my first favorite is the x-men). This game with all of its good intentions falls a little flat; the controll is a little medocre sticking, the human tourch is probably the worst to control because he floats and hovers witch makes cotroll difficult.Button mashing has been overused special moves and attacks should be simmalr to Marvel Ultimate Alliance(Quick and Easy). Invisable Woman, Mr. Fantastic, and The Thing were awsome to control. All the extras should be unlockale with special codes,(the cheat coads did not work). The action and the beatem up action was awsome but with all of these problems the game its only worth a rent. hopefully the sequel will be alot better, even Fantastic!

"A Fantastic Game", I loved this game. it was fun and the characters we're awesome. I liked all the cool missions of the game too. True half of the game wasn't from the movie but it was still fun. You got to fight FF Classic Villians, we'll almost. I mean you realy didn't go into battle with Mole-Man Or Puppetmaster. I think the best Villian was Dr. Doom. They should've had more story to him(Oh, Well). Overall it was a cool game. All of the FF Heros had cool combo attacks and super Moves. I enjoyed Playing The Thing & Mr. Fantastic. The Human Torch was kind of hard to fight with, because he was always flying. & The Invisible Woman was not so bad. They did a good job making the characters look like the Actors)Espcially The Invisibale Woman). All of the levels were fun too. The last level with Doctor Doom was pretty hard. But this was such an exceelent game.

"Not too Fantastic at all", Activision's past track record of Marvel Comic to film games has been quite great the past few years (X-Men Legends, Spider-Man 2, etc.) which leads me to wonder what went wrong with Fantastic Four. The movie was, well, lacking to say the least, but there was so much potential with the game that was wasted. Playing as Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, the Thing, and the Human Torch, you play in some nicely designed and somewhat destructable levels that are taken from the movie, as well as some levels and bosses included here for fans of the comic series. However, this is what absolutely kills Fantastic Four; it's a button mashing beat 'em up that doesn't offer anything new and becomes real repetitive real quickly. There are some mini-games available depending on who you play as, but there's not enough of them, and the voice acting during the cut-scenes is surprisingly bad. The graphics are decent enough, and the controls won't really matter because Fantastic Four is a pure button masher plain and simple. Co-op mode is a bit fun, but the ball was really dropped because there could have been some great multiplayer modes that would have spiced things up a bit. All in all, this is worth a look if you're a fan of the FF or for simple and easy beat 'em up's, but for all others this is better left on the shelf, and if you're craving a really good beat 'em up, check out the Warriors.

"-", The graphics seem dated and rushed. The gameplay was laborious and after 30 minutes I simply could not play anymore as it seemed I was wasting my time. I was playing with two player option, but the second player wound up always having to be a robot. The second stage was having each character escape from the hospital and fight off robots and solve puzzles to open doors; I don't rememeber any of that in the movie. I would not recommend.

Read this reviews before You buy...

"this game is pure garbage", I aint got nothin to say but graphics garbage, gameplay garbage, sound garbage. There's no way anyone can say this game 5 stars. I use the games case for a coaster. Its garbage.

"Fantastic? ... questionable...", Fantastic Four isn't the best game i've played this year, but it still has quite a lot of entertainment value. In all honesty, its not a game i would buy. I rented it for a week, and that was just long enough to clear it with a couple of hours a day gameplay.

The game is basically a simple beat'em'up. You beat your way through each level (some of them are so short they don't even seem like an entire level), and gather points all along the way as you perform combos and cosmic attacks.

I felt there was nothing wrong with this, though. some levels you have only one member of the team, other times 2, or 3 - or the whole lot, and you use the directional pad to switch to each one of them while you fight against thugs, robots, monsters, spiders, villains... etc, etc...
If your a reasonably lazy gamer, like me, and you don't like too much of a strenuous challenge with the game, you WILL enjoy it. using their superpowers never gets old.
I found that i liked playing as the Invisible Girl the most, because she seemed to have the most range in cosmic power. She can send a large beam of lethal cosmic power at her enemies, bput a big protective ball around herself, fire a ball of energy which freezes her enemies, and she's also quite good with her fists.

The Human Torch, on the other hand, wasnt as good. He's weak with punches, and his powers don't have too much of an effect on his enemies.
Mr.Fantastic would be third from the top. His spinning elasticated arms arent as exciting as some of the others' powers, but he is quite good.
Second best would be The Thing. He big and strong and packs the most behind a punch.

There's a good 40 or so missions, and it really is quite entertaining. But as I said, if you're looking for a challenge, this game probably isnt for you.
For those of you like me, here's the

INFINITE COSMIC POWER CHEAT:

UP, SQUAREx3, LEFT, RIGHT, CIRCLE.
.....Enjoy..... ;-)

"So the Game for the Fans of Fantastic 4 it's just plain fantastic!", I watched the movie the other day and was amazed with everything it was a good movie and i havent seen one of these movies for a long time. Then i heard there was the PS2 game i knew i had to get it. I bought it and started playing and it was sooo brilliant that now finally they have made a good game that goes totally well with the fantastic movie. Most good movies have seriously rubbishy games but this is a first where the movie and the game is totally fantastic. It is amazing that the fantastic 4 movie has gotton some really low reviews but i just dont understand what they think is wrong with the game OR the movie? Totally a must buy for all fanatastic 4 fans and people who want the game of the year!!!

"More than Fantastic", Fantastic Four is probably the best superhero game on the market. I haven't played the original FF game but it sound like a lot of hooey. The NEW Fantastic Four, on the other hand, outshines even X-Men Legends. The graphics are amazing, the story follows the movie well with a couple of classic villian detours, and the sound is superb. You can play as Mr. Fantastic who can strech his body to amazing lengths. Don't be fooled, it's fun to use and the creators got...well...creative and gave him spider mines to toss around. Next is the Human Torch. He's a fast mover and generally gets the edge in combat. He shoots fireballls, creates and fire vortex and can even send a swirl of fire on a certain enemy. Sue Storm, The Invisilble Woman. Now, don't let the woman thing fool you. She is the most powerful of the four. She can turn invisible, sneak behind enemys and kill them or freeze them. Her force powers lets her scatters the enemies all around and create a 'force wall' which, if aimed properly, can kill a foe in one or two hits! And let's not forget Ben Grimm, the Thing. Because of his bulk, the think has around 75-100 more health than the others. He can preform a bull charge, jump into the air a come down with and awesome shockwave, And slam his fist together to make a mini explosion.

All in all, the powers are handled wonderfully, the graphics are stunning, the story is compelling, so don't rent. BUY! As the Thing would say:

"IT'S CLOBBERIN' TIME!"

"Fantastic game!", The fantastic four is an awsome game if you'v ever wanted to have the powers to be invisible, stretch to no limit, smash all the bad guys, and flame on and shoot fire balls out of your hands. But its not one of those games that you'll wanna keep on playing unless your a huge fan of the fantastic four. If you play the game non stop you will beat it in less then a day or two. Other then that its a great game, but I recomend renting it not buying it...
