"Very Satisfied" I spent a lot of time researching all the possibilites before settling on the RS 130. A good part of that time went to reading the reviews on Amazon. Background: my hearing, while OK, is certainly not perfect, so I wanted good quality, but top of the line would be wasted on me; my primary desire was to get away from wires (too much of a nuisance); I mostly, but not entirely, listen to classical music; I wanted something comfortable to wear over glass frames and that would not be too hot in the summer (I live in Florida and my window faces south); while I am not a typical audiophile, I am pretty knowledgeable about music so I wouldn't want anything that wasn't faithful to the composer. So far (a few weeks now) the RS 130 has met all my requirements. I haven't had any problem with losing a signal. I have found the volume control on the set to be quite convenient to use and not a problem at all, unlike some reviewers. I haven't heard any of the annoying noises mentioned by some, but that may just be a function of my own hearing ability. So far its been very comfortable, but I haven't tried it through a Florida summer yet. Unlike many reviewers, I actually like the surround sound (yuk, some may be thinking). Some have complained about the blinking light - no problem for me - it's not in my line of sight and I have so many other blinking lights on and around my computer that it just fades into the background in comparison. In addition to listening to radio (public and SiriusXM) and CDs, I've also used it for Internet radio and TV with equally good results in all cases. Overall comment. I'm happy I got it and can certainly recommend it to anyone who thinks he/she fits into my group.
"Sennheiser RS 130" Like a number of purchasers of the Sennheiser RS 130, a bought the headphones to plaquate my wife, who frequently thinks I have the volume too loud, on whichever audio medium I happen to be using. The sound quality of the RS 130 is good, if not specuacular. Generally I use them in one location but I have noticed some static areas when walking about my house with the headphones in use. No real concern to me, as I did not purchase them for extensive portable use.
A couple of complaints however, although they are minor: 1. The jack adaptor, as other reviewers have noted, is cumbersome and for a device with a front jack, sticks out 2 or more inches. Couple that with the realtively short cord provided from the jack to the RS 13's output to the its transmitter, and your placement of the transmitter/recharger becomes limited. My receiver required the use of all the adaptor devices supplied with the RS 130. Although the device seemed to work well when hooked up in this manner, since my primary use of the headphones will be for TV useage, I found that I could connect the transmitter directly to the back of my cable box without the need for any adaptor. I also gained more flexibility in locating the transmitter/recharger device. If I want to use the headphones with my DVD player or listen to music through my receiver, I simply jack the transmitter to the front of the reciver using the adaptors. 2. The second complaint may be unique to me. I generally use the headphones in conjunction with "vegging out" in my recliner. With my head in contact with the recliner back, I sometimes, unintintionally, change the headphone volume by the friction between the headphone volume control and the chair back. Again, no big deal.
Overall, I am happy with the purchas and my wife is extremlly happy. (There is also an added plus: When convenient, I can pretend not to hear her when I am using the headphones!)
"Almost but not quite" Bought these based on brand name reputation and reported effective range. Light and comfortable, reasonable sound quality, but hoped for a little more musical detail, base response and clearer midrange. High frequencies more in line with what I would expect from a lesser quality headset. I bought them for use with my home stereo, but found they are mostly only effective for about 20 - 30 feet, before there is substantial drop off in quality and reliability of the reception. I knew there would be a trade off for wireless, but was hoping for a little more than I got. As my four star review indicates, I think they are adequate, and the price was fair, but wanted anyone considering them for hook up to a fairly high quality stereo to know what to expect. I will use them, and would recommend them unless anyone knows of a wireless product that performs better for a similar price.
"Not bad, for wireless" Pros: Pretty good sound, comfortable pads, seems to work well. Cons: Amp volume has to be up pretty high, otherwise you hear some static.
I've been using these at about 8 foot range. Even at that range the volume has to be up relatively high, otherwise lots of static. Other than that, these work very well. I'd definitely recommend these for someone who wants to watch a movie without disturbing the neighbors, and still be able to get a beer from the fridge without taking the phones off. (They're quite comfortable -- sometimes I forget I'm wearing them.)
"awsome" could not have gotten a better wireless headset. It's comfortable and the sound is the greatest.I like the rechargable battery feature.Never out of sound for long just keep batteries handy.

What our customer's say!
"Couldn't be happier", Bought these for my 88 year old mother-in-law to use while watching TV. They work perfectly. They are easy to use and clear as a bell. She is technologically challenged but has no problems with these. Might buy a pair for myself.
"Great!", The headphones are wonderful! They are for my husband and he loves them. The sound quality is great. The loud TV bothers me no more. Even my very hard of hearing 83 year old mother-in-law loves them - she could hear EVERYTHING on the TV.
"Love This !!", This is a great wireless head set. Cheap ones simply don't cut it...Get this and enjoy !!
"Hear better with RS-130 than turning up TV", Sennheiser RS 130 Wireless Surround Sound Headphones With the RS-130, I can hear all the words better than just turning up the volume of the TV. The SRS adds a fullness and clarity to the sound. My wife appreciates hearing the TV at her preferred lower volume, and yet with wearing the RS-130 I can carry on a conversation with her and her comments about the TV program. Even when she is not around, I find I prefer wearing the RS-130 instead of turning up the TV sound. It is comfortable and stays in place even while using a treadmill. It is nice to be able to not miss any of the dialog, even when going to he kitchen.
"Everything I Expected", I've owned a set of Sennheiser HD-540's for several years and have always loved them. I never considered wireless 'phones, because the quality just wasn't up to snuff. I live in an apartment though, and stay up late at times, and don't like to offend my neighbors. Add in that I have a cat that likes to attack my headphone cord, and I have a reason to use wireless.
So, I read up on the various models available. It came down to the 130's and 140's, but I've always liked open-air cans, so I opted for the 130's.
I'm quite impressed at how far wireless 'phones have come. No, they aren't perfect. You occasionally get interference if you move around a lot, or go around a corner, but that's not what I use them for. I plant on my couch at night and play PS3 games. For this purpose they're outstanding.
I've been playing a lot of Fallout 3 lately, and even though I have a very good home theater system (I used to work in hi-fi), there are some things you pick up on head phones that you just never hear when listening to speakers. Yes, you lose the surround sound (I'm ignoring the pseudo-surround, SRS function of these, because I haven't heard a two speaker surround yet that sounds realistic), but you gain minute details, so it's a fair trade-off.
How do they sound? Well, they've got plenty of output capability. Gunfire on a video game could destroy your ears if you aren't careful! They have good balance. They are a little lacking in bass, but I expected as much from a battery powered headphone. Bass requires current. Little batteries can't provide much current. The mid-bass sounds fine though, and I respect the fact that Sennheiser opted for accuracy there instead of pumping it up to hide what's lacking in the low bass. Don't get me wrong, they have bass. It just lacks that visceral impact you get from a great speaker or subwoofer. The midrange is pleasant and voices sound natural. The high end is good, but not as airy or detailed as my 540's. I honestly expected a lot less from the treble. I expected a severe roll-off, like FM radio compared to compact disc, but that wasn't the case. There actually is a high end.
I have also listened to music on these. It sounds good, but it won't trick you into thinking you're listening to a $300 pair of corded 'phones. You're not. I paid $105 for these, which is about half what I paid for my 540's. They offer similar sound, but not the same sound. I prefer my 540's for music, so if I'm going to do some serious listening I opt for the corded 'phones.
If you're an audiophile, these won't meet your needs. People that think MP3 audio sounds good will probably think these are excellent. So, if you're a little less critical, and you want some freedom, they will get the job done.

Read this reviews before You buy...
"Lost a Customer", These hwireless headphones were the worst I've ever owned. Total static and no additional chanles found. When I tried to return them they let me know they did not take back returns on headphones. I shopped with Amazon after years shopping with ebay for that very reason. Just in case I needed to return them. Let's just say I will NOT be shopping on amazon for items like this again. beyond dissapointed, libby
"Awsome!", Before purchasing this product I read many reviews by customers. So I purchased one solely based on that because I am not familiar with this brand name. Bottom line is i am really happy with it. I like the ease of use, there is no hassle or having to fiddle with it. The batteries seem to go and go; it is easy to recharge, nothing to plug in just hang it on the charger and it does it's thing. Sound quality is excellent. I really like the 5.1 surround sound it has. When I see that the program I am watching is being broadcast in 5.1, I just get up and flip the switch and it seems like I am right in the middle of things.
The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because once in a while it will go blank for a second or two. This may be because I have a wireless weather station in the house or something else that I am not aware of. It seems like I can push the channel select button on the head set and it corrects for the most part. But I do not think there is anything wrong with the product. All in all I think it is awesome. Regards, Howard
"exceeded expectations", Have been using a headset for years. We live in a loft. When my wife is watching HGTV, she uses the Sennheiser RS 130 and mutes the TV speakers. I can then settle with my bookk in the same room and we're both happy. When she goes to bed, it's my turn. The fidelity is terrific. We get no cuttin in and out, no interference. The self tuning feature is terrific. The surround feature is pretty good for movies and music. Got this headset at a bargain price (less than $100.00). Way better than the last one I had for which I paid more than $200.00. I like the charging feature too. Even if I don't turn the headset off, it will charge while on the charging stand.
"Works as expected", Of course, wireless headphones will not have the same fidelty as wired headphones, but the Sennheiser's perform as advertised. The sound is clear and the range is good, however at times some hissing is noticed. Increasing the volume of your device and reducing the volume of the headset seems to reduce most of the hissing sound. I would definitely buy these again and look forward to using them for TV and movies. Also consider purchasing an additional headset if you want to share the fun as it is a less-expensive option and both sets work with only one transmitter.
"Works great....for a while", I bought these headphones in order to watch the football games in my house without disturbing "she who says games are like fingernails on a chalkboard." The only negatives are: 1) If I turn the volume up others can still hear the TV. 2) The battery dies after about 1 1/2 hours (before the game is over.) At first there was a high pitch noise but that was remedied by turning the volume down on the headphones and up on the tv.
