"Boy! What a monster", Totally love this thing.

I didn't expect too much for a "battery powered" saw. Turns out I was
absolutely wrong. Cutting tree branches are no problem. It's
not very good at cutting a branch that is too thin(you don't need a
chainsaw in that situation anyway), but medium sized branchs are no
problem -- as long as the branch is not larger than the saw.
I even use it to cut 2x6. It takes only a few seconds to cut one 2x6. I
guess this proves what they say:"Even a starved camel is bigger than any
horse". Chainsaw is a Chainsaw! It's no kidding.

This cordless pole chain saw saved us from paying a professional hundreds of dollars to cut down a diseased tree. It was over 30 feet tall. We reached out of the second story window and was able to cut some branches. With a ladder we were able to cut the balance top branches. It saved our energy to cut the large branches and trunk with a hand saw. Without buying a regular chain saw, this was worth every penny. It will used in the future over and over again. Thanks to the wise inventor.

"AWESOME LITTLE CORDLESS POLE SAW", I'm a woman, 5'3" and 120 lbs. I wanted something to cut branches on the trees on my property that I could be comfortable handling. This does the job and more. I could handle it no problem and it cuts up to 6" diameter branches. This is not the tool for heavy duty tree cutting jobs but it's not meant to be, it cuts slower than a traditional chain saw and it has it's limits but it was a life saver after the recent ice storm which felled several large branches off a tree in my yard and left another large branch hanging. I was able to cut the hanging branch off and cut the rest into manageable brush. It holds a charge well and I never ran out of power. This was a great purchase and I highly recommend it.

"Works as Advertised", This saw works as advertised. Easy to assemble and use and not hard to handle. I use the provided small bottle to manually oil the chain after each usage. The batteries are interchangeable with other B&D 18v products. The only limitation is the usage from the single battery before requiring a charge. I have two additional batteries, so this is not a problem for me , but could be for others.

"Just What The Tree Doctor Ordered!", This Pole Chain Saw works great, so far! I have used it about 4 times and am very pleased with it. It does what it was made to do. I have a regular chain saw and a manual pole saw/lopper. Don't expect it to replace a full size chain saw or a good pole lopper. This fills a gap between the two. I have used it on branches 4" in diameter and it worked just fine. It is also handy on smaller branches that are too big for the pole lopper, but that are awkward to cut with a manual pole saw because they wave back and forth when you try to cut them. The Pole Chain Saw holds them still with the built-in branch stop. This is differently a great addition to the tool shed!

Read this reviews before You buy...

"good chain saw, poor ergonomics", I'll likely not recommned this for other than upright use. This is a very uncomfortable, awkward tool to handle when using the extension pole-insert in positions other than upright. At over 12 feet in length, the heavy parts are at each end of the tool (chain saw at one end with lightweight pole length in the middle, then the battery/handle at the other WITH the requirement to always have your finger on the trigger, no locking). I'm strong; however, I badly injured my elbow and forearm muscles and tendons upon the first use. I needed this tool to do lateral trimming across a large hedge top. Using it to hold upright, to cut a tree limb or similar is a much less awkward use and seems a better fit for the tool. I'll never again use the tool's 4-ft extension rod for later trimming--thus, for me an 8-ft tool and unhappy because I purchased it for the 12-ft. length/option.

"Well-made & simple to use: a winner", This is a light-duty tool, but as such, it's terrific. I live in south Texas, where our ubiquitous brush is designed by Satan. You can't get close to it or it'll hurt you, but it grows up in fence lines and has to be cleaned out somehow. The Black and Decker pole saw is an ideal tool for this, better than a gas-powered brush cutter, which I also have. You can stick it way inside a clump of catclaw, for instance, saw the damn stuff off, and then pull it out and burn it. I've also used it to prune live oak trees, nearly hard as iron, and it does a decent job of that, too. You don't need a ladder (dangerous!), and it's true the battery doesn't last long, but after pruning enough in fifteen minutes to fill the bed of a pickup twice, that's all I want to do anyway. If I were younger and tougher I'd get two or three batteries and spend a whole morning or afternoon with it. It's an excellent tool and a good buy, in my opinion.


"Excellent value", Works as advertised. I was quite surprised at the power considering it was cordless, but I was cutting limbs over 4" with no problem.

"very handy, does what it's supposed to ", I have only used this with just the handle and chain sections, and it seemed to do very well, cutting 2" diameter limbs. The only two things I came across so far, was that you have to manually oil the chain, and the two sections seem to come a little loose from vibration, but never stopped running or fell apart.

"Cordless Electric Pole Chain Saw", This is a great tool, more than I expected. The saw has plenty of power for it's intended use. The weight is easily managed and the reach is great. I use this saw to cut downed limbs rather than fire up my gas chain saw.
